Offered for your consideration is this mid-century vintage Stangl cup and saucer in a deep brown glaze with an embossed pattern of vegetables and latticework on both the cup and saucer. The cup is 4½" wide including the handle. 3¾" in diameter at the rim and 2¾" tall. The saucer is a little under 6¼" in diameter and maintains the dark brown glaze on the underside, obscuring the Stangl mark and the pattern name. It has a very detailed pictured on obverse of a lady taking care of a cat who looks more like a panther! On reverse is a nursery rhyme that says the following"GRANDMAMMA'S TALES, Poor Pussy was sick, and Lucy was sad. For Lucy loved Pussy most dear. And kind Lucy made her puss a soft bed. On the seat of her own little chair" It measures 2 3/4" tall by 3 3/4" across including the handle. Age of this piece is circa 1790-1810 and condition is excellent for the age. It is made in Germany before the McKinley Tariff Act(1891) There is a beautiful floral design painted on both sides. Each side slightly different. The handle is beautiful and has a three dimensional look. There is some wear to the gilding. There is a tiny white spot on the bottom of the handle that may be a tiny flake. I see no other chips. Vintage Freeport Bahamas Souvenir? Tea Cup Set This teacup set is absolutely beautiful and quite unique- as it has an iridescent under layer highlighted by a gilt floral/ wheat pattern with a feathered gilt rim on the saucer and the cup has a'solid gilt colored' handle and the cup has a scalloped top and bottom edge. The interior of the cup is covered in the iridescent finish. It measures(cup) 2 3/4" tall and the plate measures 5 3/4" across(approximately) The underside of the cup is unmarked and the saucer has the name Freeport Bahamas written on it- no other pattern identifiers. No chips. Cracks or flea bites that we can see. There may be some dust or dirt on this- as it has been stored for quite some time in this estate, and while we did wipe things down, they should be cleaned thoroughly before use. For your consideration are a beautiful matching pattern Nippon. Japan, Hand Painted China cup and saucer set. They are decorated with a floral arrangement of yellow wild roses with lavender and green accents. The rims on the cup and saucer along with the handle on the cup are highlighted with gold gilding. The cup and saucer set has the Nippon“Rising Sun” Hand Painted and Made in Japan blue under stamp. This mark appeared on Nippon china from 1922 into the early 1930’s. This set is in excellent condition. There are no cracks. Repairs, chips or staining. There is very minimal wear to the gold gilding. The saucers measure approximately 5-1/2” in diameter. Vintage Royal Dover Fine Bone China Pair Tea Cup and Saucer - White / Pink Rose
A pair of gorgeous English Royal Dover Tea cups and Saucers. Both have rose designs. One has a scalloped edge with darker roses. The other has lighter pink roses. Both are beautiful. The teacup with the scalloped edge has a slight roughness on the top of the backside of the handle. It does not appear to be chipped. I think it may be a minor flaw in the manufacture. Both are about 2 3/4" tall and 3" in diameter. The saucers are about 5 3/4" in diameter. A very nice pair for the lover of teacups or collector of fine English China.
