The dial is white enamel with ormulu surround and the ormulu pendulum is very ornate. The clock has an 8-day movement and it is in good working order, made by Chaumont of Paris, signed on the movement. The only damage I can find is a boo-boo at the base on the back of the clock. Antique Sessions Mantel Clock This is a great example of a Sessions 8-day Mantle Clock. It was made circa 1908. It is in GREAT condition. The clock has all of its original parts. Movement, case, rear door, etc. The movement works great! It has a signed"Sessions Clock Co" 8 day time and strike movement(see picture) which chimes on a bell once on the half-hour and on the hour it counts the hours with a very mellow tone on a cathedral gong. It has a solid mahogany wood case with colored inlayed wood design on the front faded by over 100 years, but still can be seen(see pictures) Its model name is the"Plymouth" The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The case is in very good condition. Very few blemishes at all. see picture) The mahogony case is made with a simple but beautiful classic design with a finish that has ... morea beautiful aged patina. All the screw holes in the back line up perfectly indicating all parts are original. Even the original back! The hands are also original! The cream tinted porcelain dial is signed Sessions and the original bezel is solid brass! The numbers and lettering are very crisp and not worn at all. Also. The dial is easy to read even from a distance. There are age hairline cracks in the porcelain that really looks antique. The original paper label is still on the inside of the back door. The back door is also original and fits nicely. The dial has a special place where you can set the time to slow and fast using the key– at the number 12(see picture) This way you don’t need to take the clock down off the mantle in order to make fine adjustments to the movement as to slow and fast. Complete with a Sessions pendulum(maybe original) and a double-ended key– one side to wind the clock and the other to adjust the speed. 1890s vintage E. Ingraham fancy ebony mantel clock. 8 day movement with hour count gong and bell for the half hour. Has ebony finish, cast feet, doorknockers on the sides that are missing their rings, columns with cherub angels resting on a foundation of green marbellized beams. Ornate brass face has good numerals; missing the outer ring and glass bezel. Case top needs refurb, balance of case could either be touched up and oiled/polished or refinished as well- quite presentable as is. Runs strong, has incorrect pendulum weight but seems to like it okay. Nice solid, tight clock that had never been abused, just left aside many years ago. Needs the small spring replaced that holds tension on the gong mainspring ratchet. I have the piece that broke off and the exact location is pointed out in the last picture. Offered in as-found condition in a Colonial Pennsylvania farmhouse recently: 1835-1840s Forrestville Manufacturing Company large mahogany case 8 Day OGEE Clock. With gong, weight driven movement. Missing the key, and a bit of veneer in one corner. Dial face is hand painted on wood and has a section peeled off. Case is nice overall, with the usual wear expected for having survived 150+ years. Original top glass and bottom glass, which has a reverse painting entitled"View in Liverpool" Some paint loss on this, but probably reproduceable. Has the original pulleys on top. Door is fairly tight at the joints. Case is the same, save for the back board which has shrunk some with age. Overall measurements are about 29" x 15 1/4" x 4 1/4" Very very nice clock for restoration. Vintage Syroco Wall Clock! The clock has a wonderful gold tone with floral patterns and is from the Hollywood Regency Era. It features a 6' ivory colored enamel face. Raised roman numerals for the numbers and a clear front case. The clock runs on an 8 day 2 jeweled mechanism. The clock is in good condition minus a chip on the bottom flare which can be seen in the third picture. Clock runs great and even includes the ORIGINAL WIND KEY and KEY BAG. DESCRIPTION Up for auction is a lovely Syroco 8-day wind-up wall clock with key. It's 21 inches tall and 11 inches wide. Plastic face cover opens easily for access to the winding mechanism. Key turns easily. Only problem is it runs slow. So some sort of adjustment is in order. After winding it one day, it was about 2-3 minutes slow by day's end. This Fabulous Very Old German Hand Carved'8 Day' Cuckoo Clock was part of a collection of old clocks recently found at a private estate sale. Please view the pictures below) This rare clock was totally hand carved from solid Black Forest wood. Not like the newer plywood cuckoos. Probably created sometime in the early 1900s and is very impressive in size with a overall length of 24" from tip of Stag's antlers to bottom of pendulum with a width of 11 1/2" at the widest point. The focal point of the clock is the large'Life Like" Stag's head displayed on a plaque at the center peak of the clock. The Head is beautifully carved and has large antlers. He even has glass inlaid eyes. Accenting the head on both sides are large carved Maple tree leaves and tree branches. The center front of the clock is framed with ... moremore of the large carved leaves and branches. The face of the clock was also carved from wood and numbered in White Roman numerals. The hands are also very decorative and done in White. The back access wood panel is solid wood and marked"Made in Germany" In the peak of the front is a little carved hinged wooden door. That displays lovely Golden script lettering that says" SHATZ 8-DAY" The movement was created from solid Brass metal and powered by two Large metal pine cone shaped weights that hang on Brass chains. The Movement is operated by a carved wooden Leaf pendulum that swings back and forth beneath the clock. The Cuckoo bird( Also carved from wood) will appear when the little door opens up top on the half hour and hour. He will coo coo once on the half hour and on the hours, as many times needed for the hour of day. When he is coo cooing, there is a musical chime that sounds in the background. If you have been looking for one of the old German Hand Carved Cuckoo clocks, then this one is in very good condition for it's age with no repairs or cracks I can see anywhere. Rare 1950's/60's Jaeger Le Coultre "MARINA" Heron Bird and Cattails 8 Day Clock
This is a wonderful table clock made by Jaeger Le Coultre in their"Marina" line. It is an 8 day wind up movement. Swiss made. Stamped 487 on the bottom. The clock consists of two lucite panels housed between a gold metal frame with disc feet. The design on the front is of a Heron bird wading in Cattails. With a black background. The clock is in working order and keeps decent time. Loosing a few minutes over each day, not sure if there is an adjustment which can be made, to remedy this. The condition of the clock is good, with light scratches on the front surface and one long 3" visible scratch on the right side and this can be viewed in a photo to follow. Inside the lucite front panel on the left below the heron, there is some gold paint which has seeped down about 2" long on the bottom. Also there are some gold flecks ... morethat have loosened from the picture and that is also on the bottom panel. Both the gold paint and the flecks can be seen in the photos to follow. The gold metal has light wear on both the top and the disc feet. There are no chips, cracks or repairs and the entire scene is intact. The clock measures 7" wide from disc to disc. With the inside lucite panels measuring 7" tall by 5 1/2" wide. The clock is 1" thick. You are buying this clock as is with a reasonable starting bid. This is a very nice Victorian brass carriage clock in just excellent condition. Dating to the mid 1800s. The clock has a turned carrying handle to the top with a beveled oval glass window to the top, the clock has beveled glass on all the other sides. The dial is in white enamel and has black Roman numerals, has the original winding key. Flat top case with ornate metal feet and handles. It has an hour and half-hour strike eight-day movement. It has 3 fluted and gilded columns on either side of the clock face. It has a 5" diameter celluloid face with a hinged glass cover to allow for ease of winding. There is a green wreath around the inside of the numbers, and it has elongated spade type hands. It has a deep resounding gong that sounds on the half hour and the hours. It stand 10" tall, 14.25" wide and 5.25" deep. Keys are included. Everything is original. The marble is in very good condition with jet black color with rich green accents(see photos) There are a few etched-in stains on the back surface(see photos) The 8 day time and strike clockworks show the Samuel Marti mark. They are very clean. Complete and run very well. The clock chime strikes once on the half-hour and tolls the hours on a pleasant sounding bell chime. Overall this clock is in very good to excellent antique condition with only the stains on the back. Dimensions: The main clock body is 11" tall. 10" wide and 5.5" deep. This Magnificent Old German Black Forest'8 day' Cuckoo clock was found at a recent private estate sale. Please view the pictures below) The family at the estate said there grandmother brought the clock back from Germany in the 1940's. This Cuckoo clock is absolutely unique in design displaying a lovely winged Bird at the very top(She even has a glass inlaid eye) and accented on both sides with dimensionally carved Maple leaves and tree branches. The center front is framed with more of the hand carved leaves. Branches and a fabulous lower piece that was carved in to curved winding tree limbs. This entire piece was hand carved from a single piece of wood(Amazing talent) The face of the clock was also carved from wood and numbered in White Roman numerals. The hands are also very decorative in design. The face is marked at the bottom"Germany' ... moreThe back of the clock has a wooden access door that still maintains the original paper instructions label on it. The upper front peak of the clock has a little hinged wooden door that when it opens the Cuckoo bird will appear on the hour and half hour. He will coo coo once on the half hour and as many times needed for the hour of day on the hour. There is also a musical chime that sounds in the background each time he coo coos. The movement of this clock is of the finest German quality and marked'Germany' on it. Made from solid brass metal and runs for 8 days when fully wound. The movement is powered by two large metal weights shaped like Pine cones that hang on Brass chains. The movement is regulated by a hand carved leaf pendulum that swings back and forth underneath the clock. The overall condition is very good for the age of the clock. I do not see any repairs, nicks or cracks anywhere. The clock runs fine. Remember this clock is a 8 day clock, not like the usual 1 day clocks that you normally see. Lower portion and rim around dial. The burl in lower section has some roughness. There is some minor chips to the veneer on lower front edge. This is barely noticeable. There is a chip in the lower right corner and inside corner(see photo. The original Seth Thomas movement has been cleaned. Adjusted and lubricated with synthetic clock lubricant. This movement is in very good operating condition. The original Seth Thomas Roman numeral dial is in very good condition. There is some paint loss near the holding screws and the winding arbors.
