This is an amazing 4 panel set either made in China or Japan. I have seen many but none with carved wood horses or stallions. Of course that means the horses are raised They measure 24"x8" each. And appear to be teak wood as each panel feels very light, but for a total of 5 lbs before packing. They also appear to be quite old. But I have no info on them. I guess some would call them black laquer. But I'm happy with black paint surrounded by beautiful Asian Art Work. There is no Mother of Pearl on these panels. They do have normal wear and tear from over the years. But nothing that takes away from the painting or overall beauty. They are ready to hang. This is a simply beautiful embroidery on a pale-gold silk panel. Oriental imagery- a Parrot and Camelia(Tea Tree) flowers and foliage. Mounted in a pretty glazed frame with a narrow foliar green coloured moulding. The frame is 18 inches by 9-1/4 inches. The parrot is 3-1/4 inches long within the 13-1/2 inches x 5 inches central embroidered panel. A few crumbs of card from the mounting process have managed to work their way into sight behind the glazing. Though not too distracting. Re-framing may be appropriate.

The Chinese panel is black lacquer with carved mother of pearl shell depicting a beautiful garden scene. Incredible detail throughout. The shell is all hand painted with amazing colors and the iridescence from the shell glows through. It seems almost lifelike. This piece is artist signed as shown in photo#8. It is mounted in a glass covered shadow box frame. It has two metal handle mounts at the top for hanging. There is one small strip of loose shell sitting at the very right side of frame edge(seen in photo) I have not been able to find any spot where it may have belonged. I've had several Jaru pieces before, most of which have been ceramic stylized animals and such. I've never even seen one of these. It's very cool! The Wood Board measures 23 1/2" Long X 7 1/2" Tall. The outer face of it is made to look like gold leaf and is very shiny(the first pic in the series, done under a flash, shows the gold best. The black center panel upon which the medallions are placed is a very fine velvet. The routed space between the gold and the black is done in an antique green with a little of the gold showing through here and there for effect. For your consideration is one(1) ALEXANDER GIRARD wall tapestry/environmental enrichment panel from 1972. Recently acquired from a collector with an extensive Girard collection. Signed and dated in fabric. As shown. It's a large piece, depicting a dark orange sun in rust on a light orange background. Incredibly rare and currently not available anywhere else. Silkscreen on fabric(presumably linen) Measuring approximately 52" x 49" It used to be mounted on a wood frame by the original owner but has since been removed from the frame; as such, some staple marks remain. It will be shipped folded. It's in great vintage condition with no major integral damage. Just some minor spots which can be removed with the proper cleaning. Final sale.
