The outer door is featured in an earlier posting-these door were a second set of security before entering the inner safe. The doors feature nice details like hand painted edging in red and nickel plated handle. The mechanism still turns that drops a flat bar down that locks the doors in place. Due to a massive water loss on 12-23-2008, I had to remove the original 8' H Concrete Stem Wall which housed this pair of secret compartment doors. When I built back a new wall, I decided to enlarge the opening and install a normal door(see photo depiction) I had no intention of removing these doors because they played an important part of Oklahoma Prohibition Bootleg Whiskey History. The owners of this mansion ... morewere oil barrons. Real-estate magnates, and apparently not above making rapid profits through selling illegal whiskey. Original& secondary owners through elaborate& large parties& the basement served as a pool hall& speakeasy. I had these doors sandblasted& powder-coated in gold because gold was found throughout the mansion as a trim color. However, their original color was moss green. The hinges are ordinary strap hinges. If you are interested in installing these doors and staircase for it's original hiddenn purpose. You simply frame your opening and use a chisel to make room for the hinges as they will flush-mount to your wood(or weld on if you frame with steel) The stair hinges are also ordinary strap hinges but they have been custom bent to accomodate this purpose. It's a rather simple design and shows that"where there is a will, there is a way" How were the doors hidden? Quite simply. Because you don't see the stairs when the doors are closed. Large Vintage Industrial Heavy Duty Steel Metal Wall Cabinet Sliding Glass Doors
For auction is one fantastic industrial steel cabinet with sliding glass doors. It is in excellent condition. And is as high-quality and heavy-duty as they get. Each door has double-strength glass encased in a metal frame with recessed stainless pulls. It comes with three adjustable metal shelves(only one is pictured in the cabinet) and all shelf clips are accounted for. It is painted a light gray and there are very few scratches throughout, except for the bottom edge, which has a lot of wear. There are also some larger scratches on the left side of the interior(pictured) but you don't really notice them once the shelves are in. It has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready for use. It can be used as a free-standing unit on the floor or can be wall mounted, and it has four 1/4" diameter holes pre-drilled for that purpose. Hinge Lot Stanley Hager SW Heavy Duty for Commercial Application for Steel Doors
Listing this evening a nice little lot of heavy duty hinges. All in used condition. The largest five were used on steel doors. The first 3 are Stanley FBB 138. In the middle are a pair of Hager hinges and on the right is a pair of SW hinges in a smaller size in pretty crusty condition that I am throwing in free because they fit in the box with the others and I don't have any use for them and don't feel like looking at them anymore.
