This 15 plus pound two piece cast iron hitching post fence post top horse head comes from a local NH estate and was on the ladies front yard fence for a few generations. It has no cracks or breaks and was formed from two pieces and welded or brazed together. Not the original paint I would assume and has a few splotches of paint the same color as her fence. The piece is@13 inches tall 5 inches at its widest and a 3 1/4 inch diameter hole in the bottom. SHIPS FREE IN USA

The black paint on the metal has peeled off a little and there is silver metal showing underneath. It can be repainted or not. Up for your consideration is a fancy 19th century Rare Hitching Post. This post has the Victorian Ladies Heads going around. All molded in Cast Iron detail. There is one side bare and we are not sure if it had a head there or was just the side facing into the property. The paint is badly worn, but we have left it all original for the new owner to deside about the restoration.There are some losses to the sides, but they are not noticeable. This is a full size post standing about 39" tall by 8" square. We have not found a foundry mark, but there may be one on it underneath. I say its rare because most early ones have just screw bolts that would go into the post where this has a thick two bolt holes back plate that would be adhered to the hitching post. it is nice and bold and seems as if it could hold a tank in needed. it measures 10 3/4' in total length and the ring is oval at 4 1/8' x 3 1/2' its in fine all original condition having wonderful authentic true age character. a great piece to put back to use or for rustic repurpose.

Stone has rings and squares carved into it with an iron ring running through the stone at the top. The iron ring is rusted to perfection and is strong and sturdy. Heavy. Well aged and a unique piece! Condition: The horse head is solid and sturdy. No breaks. Paint is chipping off in spots and it needs to be repainted especially if you plan to use it outdoors. This topper weighs almost 8 pounds and is 9" tall x 7" wide(nose to mane) The bottom that attches to the fence or post is flanged. The opening is 2-1/2" in diameter and the flange above the opening is approximately 4" in diamter. The piece shows some age but still a beautiful piece of metal work. Antique cast iron horse head hitching post with attached decorative Hames
This is an antique cast iron horse head hitching post. It is well over 50 years old. The cast iron head measures 13 inches tall and has a hitch ring thru its nose. And its base is 5.25 inches wide. Attached to the head is a 3 inch diameter galvanized post with a set of Hames horse collar brackets, welded in place to it. The post is designed to be planted about 2 or so feet into the earth. The"Ranch" is featured on roadsideamerica dot com. It sits along side Highway 88 just east of the City of Stockton in the agriculturally rich San Joaquin Valley. This roadside attraction was a working hay ranch for decades. At one time the founder Frank Medina had the largest collection of windmills in the world. Frank himself was an interesting fella in his own right. He was the oldest man in the world with his own teeth never having a cavity. Windmill Ranch is now run by his son. It's not open to the public, but for the lucky few who happen by the"old cowboy" might just give you a tour of the place. The Ranch has dozens of windmills. FOUND SEVERAL OLD ITEMS IN THE BARN THAT WERE STILL IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. THIS OLD PIECE IS WHAT I WAS TOLD TO BE THE TIE UP PORTION OF AN OLD HITCHING POST. IT WEIGHS JUST A LITTLE OVER TEN POUNDS AND THE LARGEST DIAMETER IS FOUR INCHES THE TOP DIAMETER IS SLIGHTLY SMALLER. THE LENGTH IS INDICATE DIN PICS. NICE DESIGN INDICATED. We have pieces of magnificent yesteryear architecture. Stone masons have created these works of art for wealthy patrons in Rochester many years ago. We have a stone arch. Corbels, carriage stepping stones, and hitching post. Included in this deal are two large pieces of thick marble. You can not reproduce them for the asking price of this auction. I do not know the exact location of these salvaged pieces but I know they are from Rochester. The marble is about 2 inches deep. 24 inches wide, and 72 inches long. The base is round with the outside circumference 4.25" and the inside 3.75" the walls are extremely thick) There is some rust which, in my opinion adds to the patina and beauty. Super cool pair of VERY OLD iron fire dogs. 19" high. 13 1/2" wide at the base. Columns are 2" square(hollow) Toppers are 3" square. Handles" are 4 3/4" wide by approx. 4 1/2" wide. Spike is 6" high with 1 1/8" square head. Arms are 20" long and very very worn and distorted from heat/use but still usable. See pics to judge condition. The arms are not removable which makes this item require a very large box. That combined with the weight of the andirons makes shipping not inexpensive. He is wearing a yellow hat with red front part to shade his face from the sun. He has nice red shirt with buttons and yellow cuffs at the end of the sleeves. There is a white shirt collar showing at the neck and nice white pants tucked into black boots with a brown folded over part at the top of the boots. He stands on what makes me think of a brick walkway. Because there are lines across, dividing into 4 squares. He is made of heavy metal and please look closely at the photos and you will notice some lines in the enamel. especially on his shirt. I think it gives him class and he looks really old. He has really red lips and the whites of his eyes and teeth are really bright. He was ... moreused as a bookend but also looks wonderful standing all alone as a work of art. Antique Early Hand Forge Wrought Iron Post Or Wall Horse Hitching Ring Tie
Comes with what looks to be original bolt. Nut and washer. Barn fresh this piece came from a very old New Hampshire Estate. You can see how it was hand forged with that primitive look about it and uneveness that comes with a hand forged piece. The ring itself measures 6" long by 4 1/2" wide by 5/8" thick add another 4 1/2" in length when including the bolt.

Up for auction. Is an old original CEMENT AFRICAN AMERICAN LAWN JOCKEY hitching post. Stands about 26" inches tall. This belonged to my dad. I would guess it to be at least 60+ years old. It has lived outside for most of it's life: Don't know how much of this is the original paint. To me. It seems sound with only surface cracking as is common with old cement pieces. This is a listing for a red color cast iron single hitching post horse head in excellent shape. Measurement: little over 12" tall and weigh 10 lb 4 oz. The horse have ring in it's mouth and an opening at the bottom for attaching to a post. Long time ago they use the horse head in barns and race track to tie horse leash.
