This is a charming scene of a young man wooing his beloved as she goes to the well to fetch water. The horse is looking on and the dog is investigating the basket. Dating from the 1920's. This machine-woven tapestry measures 51" x 51" 129cm x 129cm) which is a square and rather unusual to find among tapestries. It is in good condition but has a brownish stain(photo 4) near the tree and horse. This can be cut off if it is bothersome. Otherwise it does not detract from the total look. Also, there are some threads that are loose(photo 3) and some very small tears around the outside edges. Give its age, it is in great conditon. Colours are muted: ecrus.
