VTG 20S ART DECO COPPER IRON MISSION PORCH LIGHT SCONCE FIXTURE & CYLINDAR SHADE
Very beautiful antique light fixture. This is an outdoor wall sconce that would work great on a cottage or by a porch door. Originally from a lake home built at the turn of the century. The light is of cast metal, bronze and copper(the top is copper, other parts seem to be covered is some brass or a mix of brass, bronze and cast metal) The best part of this light is the cylinder shaped amber crackle glass shade, you don't often see these with an undamaged shade. It looks beautiful when turned on. It has been rewired(outdoor wiring and socket) and can take a 100 watt bulb it desired. Will have the mounting hardware included with a new brass finial holding the threaded rod in back. This light has been repaired to be usable again, the socket has been epoxied to the base(pictured) there are a few places where the metal has been lightly sanded ... moreto see what color it was underneath(pictured) this would weather in time and turn dark again. The finial on the bottom has a small hole drilled into it and a tiny wire holds it to the base of the lamp. pictured) You have to look for this to see it. A few screws have been replaced to hold the base to the top, they are brass but will darken in time(pictured) There is a screw head that is broken off that holds the copper top to the cast metal middle, there are other screws holding it down so this is not an issue(pictured) There are some very small paint dots on the copper top(pictured) In the last photo you can see the part that holds the base to the back tends to wiggle back and forth- it won't come loose and almost needs to be this way to fit the top onto the base(it needs a bit of wiggle room) but once it's all put together it doesn't move at all because of the way the top and bottom attach to each other. It needs to be assembled carefully since the metal top has to be screwed to the base over the cylinder shade- takes a bit of time and patience but well worth the effort. Arts and crafts mission period slag glass light fixture
Pictured is an original arts and crafts period slag glass hanging shade. It dates from around 1912-1920's.I believe the company to be Empire. The color of the slag glass is caramel on the upper panels and light green on the lower. I have looked it over several times and there are no cracks in the glass. The panels are all original. The metal filigree is also fine, no breaks or pieces missing. I have pictured slight spaces under the ribs which may be normal. At any rate they are completely solid. The decorative chain and original cloth wiring is in great condition. The 3 old brass sockets as well. The original ceiling plate is detached from the last chain link. It's easier to rewire it up detached. There are appox.4ft. Of chain. This shade is extremely heavy. It came out of an early 1900's home. It has 16 panels is about 26" ... moreacross and 12.5" tall. An industrial warehouse type light fixture made of steel with a porcelain or enamel type finish. The shade is apr. 14 3/8 inch in diameter and the overall height of the light is apr. 8 1/2 inches. The socket is for a standard size light bulb base. It was removed and tested and it does work. The socket has screw terminals for easy rewiring. The threaded hole on top will accept a 1/2 inch pipe. There is some small edge chips which are shown in a close up. The pictures should show the rest. Plenty of lighting was used to show as much detail as possible. It is chrome but has lost its perfect mirror finish with a bit of patina from age but it may buff up a bit. It measured 12.75" at the base and is 4" high. I hooked this up and the bulbs just glowed and flickered a bit. I didn't want to buy new bulbs to test it as I wouldn't be able to ship them with the light. So. I don't know if the old bulbs are burned out or if it needs a new balast. As you can see by the photos, the wiring is all original so you may want to rewire and install a new balast anyway. This is all original. This is in BEAUTIFUL condition. The spots you see here and there are from my lens.NOT the lamp. There is one little area of roughness to glass.too small to photograph. Does not show when hung. The shade measures: about 10 1/4" across x ABOUT 4 1/4" deep and hangs from the original Porcelier fixture by three chains. Needs the little end caps on the chains. Beautiful Vintage Antique Art Deco Frosted Glass Chandelier Light Fixture Canopy
This is all original. AND GORGEOUS! Has not been tested. As it is the original wiring. I was told this DID work when pulled from the home. This is in BEAUTIFUL condition. Very few(very FEW) minor little flea bites on edge. The spots you see here and there are from my lens.NOT the lamp. This heavy Frosted glass shade measures about 11" across x about 4 1/2" deep. There are some little white flecks of paint on the shade which should soak right off. I would bet. Anyway. Fixture is: About 8 1/2" from ceiling to where it sits with shade.
