ANTIQUE 1800's dental equipment vacuum pump? Ransom & Randolph Co, cast iron
Offered here is what I believe to be an antique piece of dental equipment dating from the later part of the 1800's. It is made of cast iron and has a plunger type pump on the front of it that I am guessing was used to create suction. It is labeled as being made by the Ransom& Randolph Co. from Toledo Ohio.The nickel plated gauge on it is to read vacuum and has"The Elgin" written on it. The two platforms on it may have held a glass jar of some sort but these are not included as it was missing them when I found it. There doesn't appear to be anything broken or missing other than what i have described.

It also comes with a water conductor cup. Marked“65. It has a long brass pipe attached to it; the pipe has a very dark patina. The cup looks like it was possibly welded at one time. There is a crack on the faucet of the pump that can be seen in the photos. I believe it could be welded or replaced. This would make a great garden decoration. You are bidding on a decorative Cast Iron Well Pump with interesting details and with a great look for a garden or even as a pump. I am not sure of the age of this. But it came from a farm in upstate NY. The pump has some interesting details on the handle and the down spout. The stand is interesting as well as you can see from the photos. This would make a great addition to a garden. There is one crack in the cast iron, on top on one of the supports for the pump handle(last photo) but the handle works fine and stays in place without problem. This has been cracked for a long time. The pump stands about 54 or 55 inches tall and has for holes on the base(a flange) for securing this permanently. This is only for local pickup as the weight is too great to ship. Antique Vintage Deming Co Salem O Cast Iron Well Cistern Hand Pump For Display
This is for the antique vintage Deming Co Salem O cast iron well cistern hand pump pictured. I have added 12 pictures total with the last 2 showing the measurements. There are some broken and damaged areas on this pump and the worst are shown in the 8th. 9th, and 10th pictures. The 8th picture shows one of the ears on the handle mount is broken off so the handle is held in place by one ear only. It can be made to move up and down by not tightening the bolt all the way. The 9th picture shows a cut across the top of the spout. The 10th picture shows the bolts on the top cap that are broken or deteriorated. Because the bolts are broken the top cap is stuck in place and will not move. There are a couple of old layers of paint and rusty areas but I do think this would make a nice display piece. Up for sale today is an antique cast iron hose spout or adapter for a hand operated well pump. There is no name on this piece. Only the parts number 1787- it could have been made by any of the pump companies- Dempster, Red Jacket, Hayes, Baker, etc. It still has traces of its original black paint. There is no damage, and only light surface rust. The top opening for this funnel is approx. 2 1/2" in diameter(inside measurement) with 2 small lock tabs that are approx. 2 1/8" apart. Overall the piece is approx. 3" long(top to bottom) and the hose spout is approx. 1" in diameter(outside measurement) What a great piece to add to your collection! I have a pair of vintage very old Pump Organ Pedals. The cast iron design on each pedal is very ornate. Each pedal is 9-3/4" Tall x 7-1/2" Wide x 1" Thick. The cast iron design is 1/8" Thick. With a heel rest. These pedals have not been cleaned, still in as found condition. The cast iron has some surface rust that will clean up very nice. The wood is solid, no water or damage. They still have the connecting wood and hinges as seen in pictures.

32" Antique Water Well Pump Hand-Crank 1902 Green Refurbished D.E.P.Co Cast Iron
Pump Antique Water Well green Antique Water Well Pump Circa 1902"Improved Little Giant Force Pump" Hand-Crank Gear-Driven Domestic Engine& Pump Co. 32 Inches Tall Professionally Refurbished Handle Made Of Wormy Chestnut(Antiqued) This is one of the earliest known hand-cranked water pumps that features the gear-driven components. Before I reconditioned the pump I also lathed this new replacement handle which is made of Native American Chestnut. It is a piece of wood reclaimed from an old barn. I antiqued it by doing some burning and some high speed grinding. Then added some pings and dings for character. I then added teak oil and finished it off with polyurethane for waterproofing. The photo above shows the six cast iron components after all loose rust and scale had been removed in preparation for paint. I pressed on a 10" ... morefiberglass rod over the rusted"dip-stick" so as to prevent it from slipping out when cranking handle. The embossed words throughout the pump reads"Etter's Improved Little Giant Force Pump" Patented May 20, 1902" Mfg. Domestic Engine and Pump Co. Shippensburg Pa. and"Canada Patent 1902. Some words are hard to make out from age wear. The pump generally measures 32 inches in length and will have a shipping weight of 35 pounds. FREE SHIPPING on this behemoth! The bottom of the pump where it connects to the main ground pipe(or your connecting pipe) is 1-7/8" diameter pipe threaded on the end for connecting to this pump. There are many options for incorporating a handsome base piece that can hide the ground pipe. Notice in the picture above. The black pipe screwed into the bottom of the spigot body. This does not come with the auction. For a couple of dollars, the winning bidder will provide their own mounting pipe. This solid cast iron well pump spout has aged beautifully! The second photo shows a crack that I think only adds to it's character. Entire piece is 9-1/2" tall x 9-1/2 from spout to back x 6-1/2 side to side at base. Spout itself is 4-1/4" long and 3" wide at top tapering to 2" wide. Weighs approx. 8 lb. So I wonder if it is a Water pump or more likely for Oil or Fuel. Any help would be appreciated. The column is about 12" high x 1-1/2" diameter. The stroke is a little over 5" The handle is about 31" long Overall size with the handle down: 32" wide x 5" deep x 21" high Inside the column. Around the rod, is packing. I imagine it has to get wet to be effective, but I don't know if it is working right or not, so you may need to provide seals or other maintenance before putting this pump to use.
