This trunk measures approximately 22" ... morelong X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is wood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild. This trunk is an amazing piece of history. This trunk has a little story behind it. My great grandfather, was the owner of this trunk, I don't know where he got it from, but he was very wealthy, and he owned, a huge mansion, up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, witch is very rare, as 99.9% of folks are poor up there, as there is nothing but trees, and water, he had left the estate to my grandfather, about 40 years ago my grandfather never went back to the estate, he let it become basically codemed or he let it go, and it became un-livable, when my grandfather died the estate went to me I didn't know about it so I went and checked out, and I found this trunk hidden between his closet, and a little trap door in what might have been my great grandfathers master bedroom. Get that great Vintage look and extra storage with this lovely off white vintage wicker blanket box in the style of Lloyd Loom. These were popular in the 50's and 60's in the UK and the edges would frequently be painted gold. It think that must have been the case with this one. Because there were flecks off gold paint in the trim. The wicker is small and firm, but still pliable. It is a tight weave. It has two rows and wicker trim where the lid and trunk meet. There is a wicker pull tab in front for convenience in opening the trunk. It has 4 nice mid century legs that lift it off the ground 4 inches. It is great for extra storage for craft projects. It has the great patina of age showing several coats of paint from its past with some worn down or distressed areas and still has the original turquoise paint inside. The wicker is in ... morevery good vintage condition with no holes or tears. The top has been completely reupholstered in a spring green and cream pattern. The layers of old fabric and nails were removed. It has a fresh and inviting look and is a great size for coffee table. This little chest was handmade of cedar and measures 21In. x 10 1/2in. x 9 1/2in. outside overall(handles. Top sides) and the inside measures 19 1/4 in. x 9 1/4in. x 7 1/4 in. There is a nice old wood knot on the top which gives this trunk a character. A quaint look that was often seen when people made furniture and other things from scrap. This trunk measures 15" long 9" wide and 9" tall.The outside of it is in very good condition.The inside will need a little work. A piece of wood that acts as a ledge for the tray is missing and the wood in the back of the trunk has a piece missing.Someone plastered the space and the plaster eventually fell out. Auto epoxy body filler would do the job to fill that void and a 1" x 1" strip of wood wood replace the ledge.

I don't know for sure what this one was called for certainty I just know that it more closely relates to the old"Barrel Stave" luggage trunks. Although this piece is quite old and Non-Restored it is still quite charming to behold. The inside is quite lovely. The trunk could be easily restored to it's former glory. It features beautiful artwork by"Kaufmann& Co. That is numbered. The Outside Of The Trunk Show its age a lot! There is evidence of Surface Rust. Marks, Scratches As the handles on the ends are missing and part of a latch and there is NO key. You Can Better See In The Pics I Have Put On. Offered for sale is an Antique small trunk covered in leather accented with brass studs. The wood looks very dark and appears to be mahogany. But I'm not sure. The box measures 12.5" long x 7' wide x 4' high. Has one compartment. The outside of the box shows some age appropriate wear, the photos greatly magnify the surface wear, in person the box wears the patina of age gracefully, and presents very well. Nice to find a true gentleman's box, most are the much smaller stud boxes, but this is a really useful size for emptying pockets of keys, change and pens etc, it would make a great gift. GREAT OLD BLUE VINTAGE TRUNK! small size. Metal over wood Very nice old blue trunk; small size. Measures 16x27 1/2x9 1/2 inches tall. Construction is wood, covered by blue metal on the outside and original paper on the inside. Corners and all edges are reinforced by metal, looks like copper. All latches work fine. Center latch is slightly corroded but functional, silver color. Handle seems like bakelite or early plastic material. The outside has some scratches, lots of character. This would be a great coffee table, toy box, or use your imagination! Rare to see an old trunk this size, they are usually way bigger. Weight; just over 20 pounds. Brass Measurement: 39 1/2" Wide x 19 1/2" Deep x 21" Tall Condition: Very Good Vintage Attributes: This is a 1940's era storage or steamer trunk. It is crafted in wood. Painted navy blue on the outside. It features wrap around decorative brass hardware on the top and bottom edges of the trunk itself and on the four corners of the top, please refer to photos for detail. There are two wide decorative brass bands running up the front of the trunk and the lid, across the top of the lid, and down the back of the trunk, all held in place with tiny brass nails. The lid is hinged in the back, all hardware is brass. The front lid features two brass tabs which fold down onto the locking pins. Going through the locking ... morepins are a pair of Japanese locks, very rare nowadays, but popular on storage trunks in the 1920's and 30's. The locks themselves are solid brass, a collector's item in themselves- we have chosen to offer them with the trunk, as they came to us at auction with the trunk. The key is included, will be in a separate envelope on the outside of the trunk. There are two side handles mounted on brass circles, please see photo. The inside is roomy, unpainted wood, no tray, in very good shape. This would make a wonderful storage chest for quilts and blankets, kept at the foot of a bed. It would also make a great storage piece in a living room or den in front of the sofa. It would hold all those throws and afghans we love to cuddle up to on movie night, and also act as a unique, casual coffee table.
