Condition: Used Location: Roanoke, United States You are bidding on 4 different antique Sterling Silver vanity sets. All are%100.00 hallmarked sterling silver. I could only upload the 12 photos you see ... morehere but I would be more than happy to email interested bidders as many as they like. The first set pictured is made by International Sterling and is just the mirror and brush. It is in good overall shape with the mirror having a little hazing. As you can see in the pictures it is monogrammed. But not quite sure what the initials are. The second set is made by Birks and consists of a brush, mirror. Nail file and the sterling holder for a comb but the comb is missing. All pieces are monogrammed with a N and again clearly hallmarked Birks Sterling. Overall the condition is good with slight clouding in the mirror. The nail file has some corrosion on the file portion. The 3rd set is hallmarked 925R sterling and consists of a brush. Mirror, scissors, nail file and comb holder which is missing the comb. Each piece of the set is monogrammed with a D. The scissors in the set have some corrosion on the cutting portions which are not silver, but overall condition is good. the 4th set is hallmarked Birks Sterling and consists of a brush and mirror only. Both pieces are monogrammed with a C. The brush is in great shape but the mirror portion of the set has come loose and there is some small dents around the mirror edges. Also included is 2 smaller brushes(last picture) both are ornate and hallmarked Sterling Silver. The smaller one is hallmarked Sterling while the larger one is hallmarked F&B Sterling. 1907. In total there are 15 pieces of Sterling Silver up for grabs. My local antique dealer offered me $350.00 for everything so that's what I'm started the bidding at. Again. A very nice Victorian era oak bent wood stick and ball vanity. Dressing, or decor two panel screen. This wonderful C1890's folding style screen still has its original varnish finish-which is in very fine condtion. All of the metal connectors, washers, and screws are solid brass. Many of the connectors are stamped with the folowing: Pat. Feb. 16'92(1892) This vanity or bedroom screen is in exceptional condition. No broken, missing, or damaged sticks, balls, or spindles. No cracks in the bentwood sections. The metal rods that hold the cloth for the panels appear to be all original. They have a round metal ball on each end that fits perfectly into a round hole on the vertical oak dowels. The screen can be positioned at almost any angle, and folds neatly in half if desired. The early oak stick& ball gem is about 40 1/2 inches tall. ... moreEach of the panels is about 15 3/4 inches wide. Bentwood or stick and ball furniture was only made for a short period of time in the late 1800's and early 1900's. This screen is a fine example of the wonderful workmanship of that era. All the wood and metal holders are still in place even the small springs. A well to do lady of the mid 1800s would have kept all her nail files& buffers. Brushes& combs. This is a gorgeous old Victorian tilting mirror in a larger size. 19” tall, 12” wide. The frame on this is all flowers and Acanthus leaves with a large ornate foot. The metal has an aged patina and the back has an old time worn and stained cover. There are no chips or cracks to the mirror but it is starting to freckle and shows age. There are a few light spots here and there but nothing horrible. The worst I saw was UNDER the lace where you don't see it. Not on the lace but under it. I have owned this for 30 years and never refinished it, I don't know what was done prior. The marble top is one solid beautiful piece. It is ¾" thick with straight edges. The veining color is in shades of browns. Burgundy and creams. It is the original marble top and is among the nicest to be seen. It is very heavy as it sits on top of the cabinet. The backsplash is attached to the marble with screws from underneath. But. The best thing about this is the gorgeous set of original Art Nouveau hand-made, hand-painted glazed tiles. The floral designs are raised and detailed with a 3-D look; these original tiles are in great condition, and the colors as well as the Art Nouveau design, complement the cabinet perfectly. The tiles show light crazing and only one shows a hairline crack. I have not removed any tiles to see if they are marked, but this piece is worth the price

One of numerous antiques that I've had for years and this one has been a favorite! I purchased it at an auction in the 1980's from the estate of an elderly couple. The woman told me it had been her Grandmother's and dated to about 1900. I've forgotten what kind of wood it is but it's lovely. Some signs of normal wear commensurate to age. But nothing glaring such as gouges or significant nicks/chinks out of the wood. You can tell it was lovingly maintained, is solid and high end quality. The mirror swivels all the way around w/o issues. The drawer glides easily and the drawer compartment is clean. The legs are sound. Remnants of a sticker but that could be easily removed. I had a lace runner that covered it. Measures 22"tall, 17.5" wide and has a depth of 9-1/4" weighs 15 lbs.+5.5oz. before packaging materials ... moreand box and almost 23 pounds packed up. The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Its Art deco lines, adorned with a lovely stripy grain veneer in a golden shade are accented by silver tone openwork handles. Antique Continental Silver Vanity Box B. Wicker Artist
Another fabulous find. This is an antique continental silver vanity box. This piece is from the late 1800's. Etched and embossed by B. Wicker GR. This piece is fashioned after a famous French painting by D'apres Lancret. the title is called Le Collin Maillard which means"Blind Man's Bluff" The box is made from continental silver(800- 833) and I believe it originated from France. It measures approximately 5" x 3.25" with the top cover having a slight overhang at the front. T he interior of the box has a pillow top cushion that appears to have been made from silk with tiny buttons creating the pillows. The sides have silk material on them also. The scene on the top of the box portrays a courtyard scene with several people playing blind man's bluff. The side and rear panel of the box are embosssed with beautiful ... morescrollwork. The box has all of the following etched on the top of it below the picture: D'apres Lancret ~~~~ Le Colin- Maillaird ~~~~ B.Wicker GR There are no maker marks on the bottom of this piece. There are some faint scratches on this that are age and use appropriate. The silk fabric inside is beginning to come unglued from the sides and there is also areas on the pillow top that are separating. There is also some light soiling to the fabric inside. ANTIQUE SILVER VANITY BOX SCRAP OR NOT 13.4 OZ
Antique lidded oval vanity box. 5 1/2" long ~ 3 1/2" high. Secure hinge with good closure. Swirl design body with a cushion style top. 1/2" raised. Footed base. Hand hammered look to the inside. Things to mention: This box has a large, 1" x 1" inverted"dimple" to one side. The bottom rim has about 1 3/4" that has bent"inward" and has some roughness. There are some light surface scratches inside and out. The box has been Jeweler tested to 800 silver, possibly more. Weight is 13.4 oz. The only makers mark is a impressed star with the letter"s" on the bottom. Age is judged later 19th century, possibly European ~ and the box does need additional cleaning. Antique Porcelain Limoges Vanity Dresser Tray w 2 pc Hutschenreuther Bavaria Set
I am pleased to offer this nice. 3-piece, antique vanity set. It's off-white with gold bands covered in stylized flowers and leaves. The flowers and leaves are in the Arts and Crafts, or possibly Art Nouveau style. The tray measures 12 1/2" long, 9" wide, and has the maker's mark of"Limoges France(T& V) on the bottom. The powder jar and the hair receiver are both 4" in diameter and are labeled"Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria LHS" on the bottom. I believe this came from one of my husband's great aunts, that had no children. Everything is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, nor crazing. The flaws I see are three parallel extremely small scratches, some pinholes, and some black flecks on the tray. Also, there are two tiny, faint, dark red glaze? imperfections on one of the containers and there's ... morea very tiny amount of gold wear(that you don't even notice) around the opening of the hair receiver lid, on the edge of the handle, and on the tray. In addition, all the pieces look as if they were varnished and the varnish has yellowed and some of the yellow has worn off on the tray. I don't think these flaws detract too much from the overall appearance of this set, however. This set would look beautiful in the right setting!
