Early Hoosier Style Bakers DRY SINK Cabinet with Glass Doors & Potato Bin
This is one of the finest early Hoosier style Bakers Kitchen Cabinets that I have seen. The manufacture is unknown however this piece has plenty of character. The side boards on the top are 14" wide and the potato bin has whopping 17" wide boards making up the sides. Please note the saw marks on the original back of the cabinet and it is SQUARE NAILED constructed. It appears to be constructed of Oak and Chestnut. This cabinet also features SLIDING GLASS DOORS with two shelves in which the bottom shelf offers 12" of height and the top shelf offers 9" height and both have plate rails and are 9" deep. This dry sink has been in the family for at least three generations. It's solid wood- oak I believe- with a red-brown marble top. It has seen some use and has a few scratched spots(see photos) but is a really nice serviceable piece of furniture; sort of a small gem. I've tried to capture it's character in the attached photos. Features: White oak(I'm pretty sure) construction« Maple( inlays on the drawer fronts« All original hardware. Including the porcelain casters« Dovetail joints on the drawers« Original red-brown marble top. I've been in the marble business for 30 years and don't recognize the stone; I'm guessing it's from an old eastern quarry. 30" wide x 16" deep x 38-1/2" tall to top of backsplash I can find no identification from the manufacturer but the piece is obviously ... morehandmade. While the front and sides are nicely finished. The bottoms of the drawers and the back panels are rough sawn. There are markings on the bottom of the large drawer which say"J.M.T. Macon City Mo, perhaps indicating a customer name as though the piece was being shipped to them. These are similar to the markings on furniture in the steamboat Arabia museum here in Kansas City, all of which dates from the 1850's. While I do sell a variety of items on eBay. I’m not an antiques or collectibles dealer. This is an item from my mom’s estate that we’ve decided to part with. I do know that it’s old, but as I’m not certain of its provenance, I will gladly take it back if you receive it and decide that it’s not what you expected. For shipping purposes. Antique Pine Pennsylvania Dry Sink Galley & Four Drawers
For auction is an antique pine dry sink fresh from a Pennsylvania farm. The dry sink dates to the 1800s with chamfered doors and drawer bottoms. One of the drawer fronts and bottoms(second from the left) has been replaced. The wood matches fairly well but not perfectly. The far left drawer is divided for silverware and none of the drawers is dovetailed. All four show deep groves in the cabinetry from years of being slid in and out. One of the drawer backs need to be reglued but the piece is present. Someone added modern hinges to the lower doors. I would remove them because the original hinges are still present. But somewhat undersized. There is not rot or decay to the feet as is so often the case and the piece is ready for display. It is 44" wide, 42 3/4" tall to the top of the back. Solid Wood Pine Dry Sink Wash Stand Vintage or Antique in good condtion
This piece is in good useable condition with normal wear. There are brass towel racks on each side which are hard to see in the picture. Dimensions are 33 1/2 inches wide. 15 1/2 inches deep, 39 inches high at the highest point on the back. Top surface is inlaid with an ornamental tile- which I am unsure if it is original to the piece. I don't know much about this except that my mother purchased it at an auction near Stroudsburgh, PA. Another great early piece of furniture that was left in the st one wine cellar of my 1850 clapboard in the olde iron town of Rockaway. Thought that I might be able to use it in the kitchen where it belongs.But have decided instead to part with it.It may very well be yet ano ther piece that once graced the ho me as part of it's original furnishings.Probably of local manufacture or at least nearby Pennsyl vania.My home was reputedly used as a general/dry goods store in Civil war times for at least a short perio d.Rockaway was America's leading center for iron production of cannons and munitions during both The Revolution and the Great Rebellion. Located right next to what was once the old Mo rris Canal. Who knows.This early dry sink may have even seen use in the store. Vintage Solid Wood Double Sided Dry Sink / Bar On Wheels
Vintage dry sink/ bar. It is made of solid wood. I think maybe pine. Dimensions are 33 1/2 inches tall by 36 inches wide by 21 inches deep. The top has a removable copper tray insert. It has four doors that open on both sides. It has four round wheels underneath that make it easy to move around. It has a removable wooden rack/ bin that can hold bottles on both sides and two wooden trays that slide into place. Each tray can hold nine glasses and they are lined with cork pads Only one tray has the pads but we have the original pads for the other tray. They are like new and have never been fixed to the bottom of the tray. This piece is in overall excellent condition with only some dark lines on one of the edges which you can see in the photo. Nice vintage piece from the 1950's.

Local Pick up. Antique. This was on my Grandmother's farm. Maybe before her, as she was born on the farm in 1910. It appears to have wood dowels holding it together, dove tail draw, and old back. I doubt if the pulls are original as they really used their furniture on the farm, but the pull do look old too. I have a beautiful antique dry sink that has a hand operated water pump attached. The pump has been electrified and made into a lamp.The measurements are 33 inches tall. 30 inches wide, 18 1/2 deep, and the sink depth is 5 inches. The dry sink has been elevated off the floor buy a wood base. This makes it easier to open the door. It stands 2 1/2 inches up off the floor and is recessed 2 inches from the bottom edge. The door latch is original hardware in working order, occasionally the spring sticks. There is a small hole in the back left corner of the top, from way back when that is not shown in the pictures, but is not very noticeable and could be repaired. Right side up, with the thick crown molding at the top, all of the photos above, except for one(3rd photo) display the china cabinet upside down, as it has been positioned and used by the owner for the last sixty years. Metal hooks are on the back of the china cabinet for hanging it topside-up, as described, although the owner has never done this. Both items are dated from the mid to late 1800's and pair up beautifully in any traditional Americana styled household. These items are NOT reproductions as you tend to see so often online. The owner's grandmother ... morebought these and other items from an antique dealer directly out of a freight box-car from Pennsylvania. At the Van Nuys train station in California during the mid 1950's. They have been in the same family ever since. We are not furniture experts. We believe the furniture is made of pine. At one time the owner was told that the dry sink was possibly Shaker and/or Pennsylvanian and that both were in demand. They are used and bear some wear but are still functioning pieces. There is no evidence of repairs/restoration. There are no loose knobs. No broken glass, no broken hindges. All drawers are solid and easily open and close. The structural integrity of both items is ROCK SOLID. Please note that the tape on some of the photos was placed temporarily to secure the doors of the glass cabinet while in transport. Both the the China Cabinet and Dry Sink are made of wood. With glass or wood doors and old metal hinges held by some metal nails and/or screws. Very Early 1900's-1930's Primitive Heavy Wood Dry Sink
Primitive dry sink made probably in the early 1900's. The wood I believe is pine. The dry sink is still a nice piece of primitive furniture, although a lot of damages from years of used. The patina give the dry sink a look that only aged furniture can have. The dry sink have a deep sink and a upper top for a pump or large pitcher, two panel doors with the left door original latch still attached-the right door's latch is missing. Inside is painted a light blue including the one long shelf. The wood is thick on the base and trims. The dry sink is a little uneven, and wobble a little this is from foot have worn down on one side more than the other side. The back is thick boards that is nail on the dry sink. The front bottom have a curve edge. There is on single small drawer with a wooden knob. The dry sink do mot have a musty smell, ... morehowever there are some damages: the sink basin have large dark stains from used, deep scratches; the top have white paint, scratches, dark stains, long crack: the right side have a lot of scratches and scars that have turn light, left side also have scratches but not as many, The front have scratches, dark stain: the back is pained white have aged grime and blotches of brown paint, the bottom of the dry sink the wood have some deteriorating, missing pieces of wood and brown staining probably from water and weather. The shelves have aged grime, also the inside the drawer. I have listed all the problems I have seen on the dry sink, these problems came over many years. This is still a nice piece of furniture and can be a real gem with some care and cleaning. Measurements overall: length 45" depth 15" height 31" inside sink 32 3/4"l x 15"w x 4"h: top stand 13"l x 17"w. Antique Rustic Dry Sink built by noted Pennsylvania Craftsman in the 1880's.
The dry sink originates from the Pennsylvania Dutch region of Lancaster County PA. It is an heirloom built by noted craftsman John Lick in the 1880’s and has been in the Lick family ever since. John Lick was the son of James Lick. The famed piano maker/carpenter who made his fortune in California real estate and built the Lick Observatory to house the largest telescope of its time. At one point he owned much of what is now downtown San Francisco and he also purchased Catalina Island. John spent several years on the West Coast with his father in the 1860’s but ultimately returned to the small town and simpler life where he grew up in Pennsylvania to work on his trade, Stumpstown(now Fredericksburg) John Lick served in the American Civil War. The dry sink is signed and dated(in pencil) by John Lick underneath the bottom of the top drawer.
