The needlepoint seat is original with the seat itself featuring springs and padding for comfort. As stated this is a petite chair with the top of the seat measuring 14 inches from the floor. The chair measures 21 inches long by 20 1/2 inches wide and is 38 1/2 inches tall. The wood on this chair is solid walnut and is well preserved and cared for. There are minor portions of surface cracking on what appears to have been some sort of a varnish applied to the front legs. This doesn't affect the wood or quality of the chair. As this chair is in the age range of 150 years old plus. These minor imperfections add to the authenticity of evidence of its true age. Additionally, there are a few tacks missing(about 4) from the seat area which can be viewed in the photos. Shipping: I will package this for shipment and ship via UPS. We bought this set of Victorian furniture( couch and slipper chair) about 15 years years ago at an antique shop and it has been in our little used parlor ever since. It is NOT a reproduction and has original upholstery. We do not see the makers marks. However, they are both well made and very sturdy. They have pearl inlays in both pieces so we know they are a set. They are both upholstered in velvet. The sofa shows a little age on the arms in that regard. However the chair is all but perfect. You have to wonder how many cigars have been smoked in this chair. Although I must specifically say the chair has no smell of cigars in and of itself. Not much is known about the historical context for this chair. Which means I don't know much about its specific history. But by the integrity of the design, I feel safe to say it was manufactured before 1860. If you see Lincoln, THE Movie, w/ Daniel Day Lewis, there is one featured in the sets. This chair could have been in a Southern mansion anywhere from Savannah, Georgia during the time of the plantation way of life or in some railroad baron in California in the days of the"Great Gold Rush. The Oak wood has burl detail with carved drops. I stripped the wood years ago and did not get any farther on it's restoration. I am Out of the Mood for sure now so you can do it. I listed it on some antique furniture sites and these are the responses I got: It looks like a 1930s deco-moderne sofa in a Renaissance-Revival or a Romantic-Revival style. could be victorian or a victorian copy 1920- 1940" Looks like mid 1800s(1850-1880) Victorian overstuffed settee with chair. In good condition with all that carving I'd guess $1.200-2,000. USD. The upholstery looks okay in some spots. Terrible in others. Overall, it needs work. It is 33 inches tall to the back of the chair. The seat of the chair is 17 inches from the ground. The back of the chair is 14 inches wide at it's widest point. The seat itself is 17 inches wide in the front and 13 inches wide in the back. The chair is quite old and as such has some condition issues. It has 2 splits on the back that I have tried to take pictures of. One can't be seen at all from the front of the chair. In the case of this chair I would suggest that it be mostly ornamental in nature. Even if this chair were perfect it would not be made to support the average American these days. A small person could sit in this chair with no problems, but I would not suggest ... morethis chair for everyday use. It is really meant to be placed somewhere to look pretty. Beautiful. Elegant Antique High-back Piano/Organ Stool Up for auction is my grandparents' antique ball-eagle-claw-foot high back Windsor Victorian piano stool. This stunning& elegant Victorian-era piano stool has 4 shapely turned legs with gorgeous ribbing finished with the magnificent ball eagle claw feet. Beautifully turned spindle stretchers secure the legs to the centerpiece pedestal. Original finish. Still in great condition. A true work of art and quality craftsmanship. Dating from about 1870 to 1900. A swivel adjustable stool with original ball and claw feet was made to use with a piano or organ. I do not know the exact hardwood, my best guess is it is solid mahogany. The finish is in excellent condition meaning there are no chips or scuffs* I believe it is American-made. It looks like Charles Parker, however I cannot find ... moremanufacturer's name on it so it could be custom made by an independent craftsman. Sorry, I just do not know since I am not an expert on antiques such as this. Exquisite Victorian Hand-crafted Chair with Balloon Back and Cane Seat
Lovely mid-Victorian small woman's(or child's) chair in walnut with a serpentine balloon back and caned seat. In walnut with a beautiful patina and feel to the wood. As you can see from the pictures, this chair was handmade by a craftsman, and appears to be in its original condition in its entirety. It could use regluing in a couple of places but I chose not to do so, preferring to leave that to a professional. It stands 31 1/2" fall and both its back and its seat are 15" wide. N.H. This exceptional rocking chair is made of rattan. Reed, and cane. It is in very good antique condition. The chair used to have a caned seat and back. When the center cane pieces broke. Possibly because Jessie stood on it, a wooden seat was placed over the top of the original caned seat. That seat ... morehas holes some of which form at star. The cane remnants are under the wooden seat as shown in the 10th picture. It does have some other condition issues. None of these issues affects the chair's stability. There are several pieces of wound reed missing. Examples are shown in photos 6-8. One area has been bound with copper wire soldered into place. There are a couple of other areas along the chair's arms where the reed binding is broken or is missing. This is simply a stunning and authentic child's reed. Caned rocker that is 133 years old! As of the time I listed this rocking chair. Another Ebay seller was selling a envelope and stamp postmarked 1885 by the chair's makers Conant& Bush. This rocking chair is approx. 23" high. Across the arms the chair is 17 1/2" The back is 15 1/2" high and 15 7/8" wide.

Incredible Victorian Gothic "North Wind" Chair all original!
Offered here is a unique and rare mid to late 19th century. Hand carved, North Wind" arm chair. The face, from folklore, was supposed to cast(literally, blow) evil spirits away. The piece is all original. The leather seat has a large tear in it revealing the original straw stuffing and there is a small tear in the backing leather as well as a repaired spot on one of the back legs. This chair needs to be restored and certainly has a tremendous amount of potential! I'm not sure what type of wood this is. It is extraordinarily heavy! Local pick up OR delivery within 75 miles is. It is in good shape for it's age with only minor issues. It is pretty sturdy but I would not suggest that this be used on a regular basis. It was not made to be sat in by people that are as big as we are these days. It is very well carved. It measures 36 inches tall and 14 inches wide. The seat measures 18 inches off of the ground. And is 14 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The back rest measures 18 inches tall off of the seat. This is a great chair that will display well in any home. I don't know the exact age of the chair but I would think it is from the late 1800's to early 1900's. We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful Victorian chair. This dates to the early 1900's and is in amazing condition. I believe this is made from rosewood and the back center is ornately carved with a pierced floral motif. The chair measures 33.25" across at the center of the arms. The arms have a height of 23.5" at the front and 26.5" at the back side. The height at the center back is 39.5" and it has a depth of approximately 21.5" The seat has a height of 19.5" The silk brocade upholstery is a beautiful blend of light and dark gold with deep orange cream accents. This is a floral pattern and is absolutely stunning. There is some light soiling from use and overall it could use a light cleaning. But still looks very vibrant.
