The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. Alligator Embossed Steamer Trunk 1890-1910 This is a versatile and attractive trunk from the turn of the century. A solidly constructed steamer made of wood, trimmed with embossed alligator tin, and featuring a lid with only a slight arc. It’s 34 inches wide, 19 inches front to back, and 22.5 inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor. The trunk is constructed of a pine box with hardwood slats across the top and two slats on the front and back. It has new thick black leather handles and a new lid stay– otherwise in original condition. The alligator pattern has been refinished in a rich. Reddish brown that is darker than it may appear in the flash photos. Although there is no evidence of its manufacturer. It was purchased for restoration in Maine, and its design and appointments mirror those of trunks produced in the Northeast between ... more1890 and the early 1900s. The bottom has been cleaned. Painted, and sealed with polyurethane so it safely sits on floors or carpets. The trunk is solid and clean and has absolutely no stale or musty odors. The hinges are tight and the lid fits securely when closed, yet opens easily. Although there is no key, and the lock does not work, the latches operate correctly. The inside has been cleaned. Sanded, and finished with golden oak stain and tung oil so it’s ready for use as storage or display. In addition to new leather handles. Vintage Embossed Metal Covered Wood Box/Trunk, Horses Pulling Plow Handmade
This large handmade box/trunk is such a great find! It is a solid wood box completely covered in embossed brass colored metal/tin. The design. Which is on the top and front, is a scene of a farmer and his Clydesdale work horses pulling a plow through the field. The sides are an embossed filigree. The metal sheet was cut, embossed and applied to the wood with small nails. There are 2 brass hinges attaching the lid and a safety chain to keep the lid from falling back. This piece measures 20" long. 15" high and 14" wide. It sits on 4 rubber feet which may have been added later. There are some issues with discoloration on the front just above the horses and on one side. Something must have dripped on it and changed the color(see photos) The hinges have rust on them. Normal wear and tear from many years of use. I believe this piece ... moreis quite old and very unique. It was purchase in an antique shop in Tampa so I don't know who may have made it. Measuring 36ins(92cms) wide x 20ins(51cms) deep x 14ins(35cms) high, it is a traditional steamer type trunk having protective bands on the edges and corners and twin catches at the front, with a central lock and clasp, and a carrying handle at either end. It is finished in a blue colour with an attractive patina to it. The catches work well and there is the original key for the central lock. I nternally it has the original lining paper and is very clean and dry. It has the name RUTHVEN. In black, on the top. It is in good condition and has few signs of use as one might imagine. This is a hand carved J.L George wood trunk. The inner inscription reads J.L. George 895 Avenue Rd. Tel 34732 Chinese beaux arts carving furniture in wood. Carving furniture in jade stone. Carving furniture in brass. Carving chest. Made in China. I believe it is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. A friend of my father's brought this back from a trip he took to Shanghai in 1929. The exterior has some exquisite hand carving as shown in the photos. It is in great condition. The top does have some fading. As if it sat in the sunlight for a period of time, and some minor scratches. Please see photos. It measures 20 inches wide, 21 inches tall, and 40 inches in length. This steamer trunk is from an Estate sale. It's from the 1940's. Is Black metal and Brass and is just beautiful! Locking hasp works. Keys included. Name on hasp is"Eagle Lock Co" made in USA" Terryville. Conn" 8446-2" Dimensions; 36.5" wide/ 22.5" front to back/ 23.5" high. Brass and Black metal covered wood. 2 original metal casters. 2 replaced rubber casters. A few small dents on the left- front brass. Pieces of one original leather handle remain. The other handle has been temporarily replaced by plastic covered wire. This item is located in East Meadow. New York for free local pick up but can be shipped by carrier if requested. Vintage Brass Cube Trunk Cedar Lined Glamorous RARE FINE Condition FREE SHIP!!!
Up for your consideration is a beautiful vintage brass cube trunk. This trunk is near flawless and shines like gold. There are some scratches on it which can be seen in the photos. The scratches seem to just be on the laquer finish. And not deep enough to affect the brass. As I understand, it can be repaired but it is quite a process to do so, as the brass is coated with a layer of lacquer that would have to be removed, then reapplied. I'll let you do that part. This cube trunk is lined with cedar wood, and it's in excellent condition. The lock is intact, and functions, however the original key is missing. You can lock it with a handcuff style key, or even a small screw driver. All of the rivets are in place and the cube is very solid. Vintage Steamer Trunk FLEUR DE LIS Shabby Chic French Art Table Trunk REFINISHED
Gorgeous Fleur De Lis Trunk. Excellent Trunk to use as a coffee Table. End table, or as a blanket chest, under a window, or at the end of a bed! French inspired. The fleur de lis is painted and outlined with brass daisy oxford tacks. The entire top of the trunk is also outlined with the tacks. And the sides is accented with tacks. The tacks not only make the trunk more appealing. But also re-inforced it's strength as well! Although this is a medium size trunk(30in long x 16.5in and 14.5in tall) it is one of the well made and sturdiest trunks I have come across. When strpping the paper from the inside the wood underneath was stamped with a logo. Inside a diamond shape it said'the model brand' and also a co name, but all that could be read still was.ada bros. brodway' the rest of the name and address couldn't be made out, ... morevery unusual however, especially under the paper! The trunk has been placed upon wooden legs. This was done before I recieved the trunk, thought it was unique and the legs were well put on, so I left them as they were. The legs are screwed on from the inside so they are in no danger of coming off. Also if you are interested in using as a table, this makes the trunk even more like a table. A clear piece could be placed on top of the trunk. But also the trunk could be used as is for a table, as any roughing to the top would add the the shabby chicness, also the trunk has been clear coated. Very excellent condition other than normal issues due to age. The locking mechanism of trunk was removed somewhere slong it's journey. The latches are in good working condition. The strap in the front is missing. Could be replaced if desired. The hinge inside is still present. The inside has been re-lined with very very good high quality material from hancock fabrics. Two coordinating material were used. The materials were picked to compliment the outside of the trunk. Great French art inspired One Of a Kind Original Trunk! You will find this to be a beautiful piece. The condition is a bit rough but as expected for an item that has been used extensively. Imagine this being loaded onto a train car in the early 1900's or a Cruise Ship in the 1950s. I consider it to be in working condition though since the hinges and latches still work. However the key is missing. Some of the leather straps are missing as well but can be replaced for a reasonable price. This would be perfect for use in your entryway. Unusual Antique/Vintage Advertising Clock Set in Wood Tree Trunk
This is probably one of the most unusual clocks I have seen. It was advertising of some kind. I think insurance maybe. I can't make out the first work or two. Of Valued Business Favors" is on top line with a word or 2 preceding it. Under that is"Prompt Settlements" The 2" brass clock was set in the middle of a 6" slab o tree trunk. Then there is a 1 3/4" round peg that must have fit in another piece to make it stand. There is no maker name. This is really unusual and I'd like to know more about it. This is a bright and clean advertising piece. The bag was found in an old steamer trunk with captains markings. The label is from Majestic Laundry. It reads. Cleaning- Fur Storage- Rug Cleaning" Under that is a picture of there factory in blue. There is another piece of text that reads, We own and operate our own dry cleaning and repairing departments" On the receipt it shows a stamped date, Jan 28 1949" It also shows cost and what was cleaned.
