This ... moreis beautifully Rosemaled trunk from the very early period of Norwegian pioneering i mmigration to North America. Front and both sides are elaborated hand painted with floral motifs. T he lock is period to the time. As would be the nails and wooden pegs used. No key for the lock though. The trunk is solidly built with the hand forged metal plates reinforc ing sides and top. Inside is relatively clean- no major issues- wood work has stood test of times. A few scuff marks here and there. As would be normal for a trunk of this age. It's a beautiful trunk with tons of character and that true folk art flavor. Many trunks that were highly decorated like this were wedding trunks but who can know? It has a hinged lid as you can see in the pictures. The trunk has red white and blue with some green accents. The paint appears to be painted over what appears to be a green trunk that has some Romanian name lettering on the front. It was probably a trunk that originally came over by ship then painted by the owner after getting to America. This is all original and has nicks. Chips and scrapes, and worm marks on it as you'd expect from an item of this age. The painting on the front and sides is very colorful and worn through several areas to base color. Wow! That's amazing! The trunk is wonderfully hand painted. Inside. The trunk is clean. There's a little tray on the left side inside, and it still has the original cover or lid to the tray. One of the hinges on the lid of the trunk was replaced at some point but is still old. The hardware on the sides is old and ornate. There are no square nails in this trunk that we can see and there are a number of worm holes at the bottom of the front and under the front lip. This is typical for old trunks like this as they've been around the block(and world) It's an nice size and is 39" wide(at the lid) L x 16" W x 14" H. It weighs about 50 lbs. we'd guess. This is a very nice trunk for those of you who love Primitives or folk art. It's one of a kind! It would certainly make for an interesting conversation piece. Thank you for looking at this item. But I am having a really hard time deciphering it, it appears to be someone's name and then a place in New York. The trunk does have railroad transportation labels on both sides of the trunk. The trunk does have some wear as you can see, original front lock hardware is missing and it does have surface loss. Some of the paint has alligatored a bit on the sides as you can see from the photos. Trunk measures 35.25 inches wide by 17.25 inches deep by 17 inches tall. It has labels for New York Central Railroad and Westcott express one side and the other side has a very partial label and from what I can tell it is in French. HI, I have for sale a early 1900's maybe a late 1800's Antique Humpback Trunk. Located in Weston. Wi. by Wausau, WI. 54476. The trunk is in good condition for the age. It has wheels on the bottom, has to outside latches that work fine and a center locking latch I have no key, but not all that hard to finds a key. The outside is made of wood and metal with some leather overlay and wood slates, the bottom is solid, there is no self for the inside and overall in good condition. I don't know all to much about this particular trunks origin. It does have the complete inside compartments in great condition. However some of the strapping inside needs to be replaced, and the outside is all there but does need to be refurbished. Old / Antique / Vintage - Laub's Luggage WWII Nurse's Wardrobe Steamer Trunk
This trunk was bought about 20 years ago from someone who stated it had been purchased from an Estate. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. How great if a family member saw this ad and brought it home! This charming old wardrobe trunk is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. It is in good condition inside and outside, with obvious age related scars but no major flaws. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side and looks awesome decorating an old-fashioned bedroom with vintage style clothes hanging inside. ... moreThe outside is black in color and the inside is a medium blue. The long side is flat but when standing upright. The top end has a slight curvature design& this end also opens for easy access to the clothing hangers. The Laub Brothers were trunk makers from around the 1860's through probably the 1920's and possibly as late as the 1930's. They had two stores located at 422 West Jefferson Street and 516 South Fourth Street in Louisville. Kentucky. I believe this particular trunk was probably manufactured towards the end of this company's history so early 1900's. A 1926 advertisement read"Buy Laub's trunks first because Laub's trunks last" they certainly did! The trunk opens/closes well& is quite sturdy- has been stored in a dry. Safe& clean environment since we've had it. Size is approximately 40" on the longest side& the other two dimensions are approximately 22" each. There is no key& the lock would need repair. Vintage Barbie Case Trunk Blue 1964 Case is in good played with condition The metal has some rusting and discoloration but lock and handle work well. The one side of the case's'side is bowed just a bit but not bad. Case is fairly clean but could be wiped down a little more and there are a few spots but no tears in the vinyl. There are 2 out of 3 boxes and inside is in good shape. Clean, red snap holder is in place as well as clothing bars. I just saw a pin size hole in vinyl next to the handle. There are a few small spots that are coming off. I don't see tears in the corners.

This is an amazingly beautiful carnival glass vase by Northwood! It is Northwood's standard Tree Trunk patterned vase. The vase has a rich Cobalt Blue base color and stunning iridescence. It stands just under 11 inches at the tallest point. The opening at the top measures just over 4 inches across and the base is 3 1/2" across. There is no makers mark on the vase. There is some small chipping on one side of the base. See photos) There are also some bubbles in the glass from original manufacturing. This vase shows some age and use. They were told that it had belonged to a World War II Nurse who took it overseas with her during her service time. We have no idea who this woman was other than the initials on the trunk"M.A.B. How great if a family member saw this ad& brought it home! This old Wardrobe Trunk(also known as" Traveling Wardrobe" is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. Its heavy& well made, in very good condition inside& outside, with obvious age related scars, but no major flaws. Experts state these style trunks have seen a popularity surge in the past few years. While it was originally designed to stand on end for easy access. It can be used flat for a coffee table ... moreor upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side(in excellent condition) on an extending chrome rod& it even has the extra cover that snaps over the lower section for shoes&or valuables. One of the hangers looks like a boat anchor& is sometimes referred to as a"Princess" hanger. But both men& women used these because their purpose was to keep something like a jacket in place during transit, as to prevent wrinkles. Because these trunks look awesome opened. This large trunk has a lot of character- the latches are marked"Patented July 1 72" The decorative paper on the outside of the trunk is coming off but a lot of it is still intact. An old and worn shipping label adorns the outside. The colorful interior liner paper is marked"J.P. Eisenhart W.P. Co. The leather handles are missing. The trunk measures 36" L x 21" W x 25 1/2" H. The inside is 33 1/2" L x 18 1/2" W x 15 1/2" H. There is some damage to the metal bracing on the front and all but one of the casters on the bottom is gone. VINTAGE CAST IRON ELEPHANT BANK TRUNK UP FOR GOOD LUCK
Up for auction is a vintage still bank and elephant made of cast iron. I did something I rarely do with antiques and that is I stripped the paint off as the piece has been stored for many yeas was very dirty with old nespaper stuck to it as well having a weird pink paint on it. Measures just shy of 10 inches from trunk to tail. Top of trunk to end of leg measures 8 inches and back area from opening of bank area to bottom of the leg measures 5 inches. There is one area of rust on the back which is visible in the pictures. Buyer may find minor areas of paint I missed but looks a whole better than it did, please check out pictures, please feel free to ask questions and thank you for looking.
