Crafted during the first years of the 19th Century. It has a wonderful black paint over another layer of reddish orange, probably also a layer over the original and currently unknown color. The back of the chair has a graceful bow, carefully grasping each through-tenoned splinted spindle before diving through the single solid plank pine seat. The seat is heavily patinated, with deep grooves and wear from decades of active use. The entire chair sits over four splayed bamboo carved legs, all four of which tenon through the plank seat before being secured with a splint, each held firmly and perfectly in place with a bamboo carved H-stretcher. This is a most charming chair, in excellent condition with wonderful patina and character throughout- the early painted surfaces are probably not the original layers, but seem to protect earlier layers beneath, these quite possibly the earliest surfaces. A wonderful find for those that are passionate about fine windsor chairs. Measurements: Seat 13.5" wide x 14.5" deep. The seat sits 16" from the ground and the back of the seat is 33.5" high. Condition Report: Paint worn throughout. Probably not the original surfaces. Deep groves and losses in the plank seat. Chips and abrasions throughout. One nail, appears to be modern, on side of chair stabalizing hoop back. Plank seat split with a butterfly joint securing seat from beneath and two screws locking it in place. Chair is structurally strong, but could possibly be too weak to use functionally as a chair. Please review the images in the slideshow for a full overview of condition.

Victorian Eastlake Mahogany Corner Chair
Reupholstered with correct period high quality fabric. Its sat in daily and solid. It's been used for over 100 years and has a couple of nicks and wear spots that you can see in the pictures.You can see one spot where the leg has been repaired at some point. It's a sturdy chair. Good for everyday use and it looks like it should be in a museum. Best guess is that it was made about 1860. This is an Outstanding Vintage Antique Victorian Adjustable Seat Piano Organ Chair Stool Bench. The legs have beautiful eagle claw talon glass feet. There is lots of detail throughout. The chair has an adjustable seat the spins to make it go up and down. I am not sure if this is normal. But there is a slight wobble to the seat- probably a thin piece of cardboard inserted by the pin would tighten it. The piece is rare and gorgeous. This is an antique chair with a beautiful painting. There are no markings on it besides the painting to identify a maker etc. it is really sturdy wood with one crack on the top of which I took a picture and some chips on the painting and legs. It is pretty old so it is holding up well and still looks really beautiful. It measures 27" tall x 121/2" x 12" The chair is from the estate of Zuzanna Cembrowska who was Miss Poland in 1958 and starlet and then became a local here in San Diego. It has the original ebonized finish, and the oral provenance on the needlepoint upholstery is that it was done in 1904. It retains the original horse hair and/or straw stuffing. The carved rose floral design is reminiscent of Belter's"Rosalie Without Grapes" pattern.but slightly diffferent ... moreat the crest, and there is PIERCE work between the roses to each edge of the center crest and the last roses on each side of the crest.it is the stem of a rose vine.it is difficult to see the pierce work in the photos due to the DARK finish on the chair. This chair is VERY HEAVY.it has a great period design.a real mid-Victorian treasure. MEASURES:it is 38" tall at the top of the back crest and 19" across at the widest point at the front of the seat. CONDITION:the chair is complete and in very good condition. Original finish.the front left leg is slightly loose.it was glued years ago and again by me at one time. Antique Eastlake Victorian Parlor Wide Arm Chair - Spindles, Ornately Carved
Up for sale is this wonderful antique parlor chair. It is an Eastlake style from the Victorian period. And features light olive-green upholstery with carved spindles under the arms and on either side of the back cushion. The lower back is very nicely carved as well. This chair is in good condition overall. The arms wiggle a little, and although the chair is free of any major damage and free of repair marks, it does show various small nicks. 98% of the grommets are intact and the fabric looks to be original, or at least from around the same period, only showing a few small spots and not much fading. I would consider the fabric above-average for its age, and the wood is around or slightly above-average, considering it is unrestored. It has been conditioned with lemon oil and has a nice, even shine now. Regarding sturdiness, I weigh 160 pounds ... moreand the chair holds me very well. The arm span is unusually wide, measuring 32 inches from the outside, left to right. Floor to top measures 34 inches; seat height is 17 inches; and the depth measures 23 inches.
