We have for sale this lovely antique Victorian childs hoop backed windsor rocking chair. The piece dates to around 1880 and is made of oak and elm. The piece is very well built and stands 71cm/28" tall by 38cm/15" by 51cm/20" at the base. The condition is very good for its age with a small split to the front of the seat and some historic woodworm hole the underneath of the seat. None of the above affects the look or use of the chair. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique(late 19th century) Victorian chaise chair/sofa. This is a stunning piece that features an ornate. Carved wood frame and tall cane back. The chaise is quite large, measuring 6 feet in length. The seating area is covered in a beautiful fabric with French, Neoclassical pattern. There are 8 legs which feature block and turned wood. Arched, carved wood stretchers attach in between each leg on the long sides. There are stretcher supports that also run under the chaise, but these are not decorative. The chaise has been painted white(not sure if it is original) It is in good antique condition. The paint is chipping/peeling. The cane in intact with a small worn area in the center. As expected, It is not as taut as it once was but it is not loose and is still attached. The frame is good with some"wiggle" ... moredo to its age. The fabric is probably vintage as it is in very good condition with no rips, stains, etc. There is nail head trim which is also older. This is a gorgeous,old chaise with beautiful lines and aged charm. This style has been replicated many times by such designers as Aiden Gray. This is the original! This is a fabulous accent piece! As stated. The chaise is quite large and measures 6 feet in length. It is 21" wide at the back. The seat is 18" tall, 20.75" wide and 59" long. Antique Victorian 1800s Ladies/Sewing/Nursing Rocking Chair & Matching Footstool
For your consideration. Is a beautiful antique Victorian(I don’t think it is a reproduction, but if it is, it’s still old) circa 1800’s, ladies rocker used for sewing, nursing or just sitting. And, it has a matching rocker footstool. Very rare to find the two pieces. The lovely armless chair has a stunning curved wood frame with carved wood on either side of the back and also in front below the seat on both sides. Not exactly sure what kind of wood it is made from. The seat is shaped similar to a heart that is squared off at the bottom and the chair is extremely comfortable to sit in. The back is a long oval shape and has three vertical tufted buttons. The velvety velour fabric is yellow/gold in color and half inch, decorative and angled nail heads are used to adhere the fabric to the frame. The nail heads are placed one against the other ... moreall around the back and seat. I’m not sure if the fabric is original, but it is well upholstered. There is a tag stapled to the bottom of the chair—see pix—that says Consolidated Manufacturers, Memphis 1, TN. The rocking footstool is adorable and matches the chair in fabric and nail heads. Considering the age. Both pieces are in excellent condition. There are no breaks or fractures in the wood frame or carvings. There is some wear on the corners of the wood consistent with age and use that could be touched up, but personally I think it adds to the charm. The fabric is in great condition with a few spots that could be removed with cleaning. Pieces were inherited from my Grandmother and I am not sure where/how she acquired them. Beautiful Antique Hunzinger Chair Victorian Aesthetic Movement Signed and Dated
This is a gorgeous Hunzinger Victorian chair. Patented March 30, 1869, and April 18, 1876. The chair is made of solid wood with turned accents, as well as a sturdy fabric-covered metal mesh seat and back. The chair is signed and dated by the maker on the left rear leg(see picture) The overall condition of the chair is good. And the chair has a fantastic patina. The only damage to the chair is: A loose finial, loose joint where one arm meets the back(both of which are easily remedied with some wood glue. One of the small circular wood embellishments is also missing from the back of the chair. The metal mesh seat and back are in surprisingly good condition for their age. The only imperfection being some wear to the fabric covering on the seat(see picture) This chair is a beautiful example of Victorian American craftsmanship. This Victorian/ Eastlake style(possibly) rocker is a recent estate acquisition. We believe it to be over 100 years old. It has a beautiful car of floral top and very nice details. The two Rio on the back of the seat and the city itself appears to be original; if you look in the area between the cushion of the seat back in the last picture to see the color that used to be in this material. This is truly one of the nicest pieces we have come across in quite some time. Handling time on this item will be extended due to the fact that we are driving 40 miles away to UPS or FedEx shipping center. There appears to have been some repair work on at the top area of the Caldwood is part of the chairs back. Please view the pictures carefully. It feel stable and solid now. Up for sale fresh from an estate in Massachusetts is an Outstanding Turn of the Century Gothic Victorian Carved Oak Hall/Desk Chair featuring a Mythological North Wind Face blowing a gust of Air. The chair has its original finish and is sturdy. The chairs finish needs no restoring or refinishing. A great original finish for the antique purist. It measures roughly 41 1/2" tall. 15 1/2" deep, and 15 1/2" at its widest point. It was made by The Michigan Chair Co. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, c.1910. The frame is hardwood construction and it has several curlicues and fanciful cured wicker twists. The back of the chair stands 32" tall by 28 1/2" across at the arms. The chair is about 18" in depth. The chair is in very good over all shape. It has had a few breaks and losses. However it is basically in very good condition. The seat is still good. The wicker seat has come loose at a point in the back, and needs to have the spline tapped back down to repair. The leg on the left has got a loose binding, it just needs to be re-attached.
