The piece was made for Tobey Furniture and appears as model#33758 in the Tobey catalogue. It is made of excellent quarter sawn oak with an original dark finish with color added. It has great even-arm form with a central post and leg and through tenons at the top. The posts have a very attractive taper. Distinguishing it from the early model 171 settle. The drop in cushion is new, high quality black leather. The pins are intact. Supporting three adjustable shelves. Wavy glass. Paper label and ink-stamped production number are on the back. There is a push button knob on the right door. And a clever roller latch/ throw bolt system at the top/bottom of both doors. When the right door is opened, the left is simultaneously released. When the right door is shut it forces the throw bolts on the left door to extend into the wood frame at the top and bottom, securing both doors shut. Size: 31.5" wide. 11.25" deep, 47.5" tall on casters. Model 340. Most examples of this form I've seen are 34" wide, this one is 31.5" Great size for fitting in many spots within the home. It didn't really need cleaning and it hasn't been waxed. $85 fee to have professionally packed. Insured shipping via Fed Ex Ground is $210.
