This bed was built to rigorous quality standards and includes beautiful turned posts, brass bolt covers on the footboard, and the necessary center rail for optimum support in any king bed. The inside measurements are 78" wide and 82" long, and the outside measures 81" wide and 89" long. The posts are 66" tall. Henkel Harris closed in late 2012, and this bed was not as prevalent as those with taller posts. If you want quality and can't use the 7 foot posts, then this bed is perfect for you. The escutcheon or keyhole cover is missing on the bottom door and there is a spot near the lock set on top which you can see in the pictures, otherwise it is in very good condition. A wonderful example of the Henkel-Harris furniture products presented by the famed Virginia Galleries in Winchester. Virginia. The caddy is in excellent condition and comes with the original key which smoothly locks and unlocks the box. Made in solid mahogany, it is 10" long, 6" wide and 6.25" tall, not counting the handle. In this example, the long bar lifts out to show a secret compartment in the back. It could easily be re-glued if that is what one wishes. It is stamped on the bottom leaving no doubt as to the maker and the original envelope for the key is included.
