Here's a section for a barrister bookcase. Still has the old Globe Wernicke label that is marked D 12 1/4- Grade 398. There is no glass or door frame but section itself is in very good condition. Metal hardware seems fine. Wood finish on one outside end has wear but overall it still looks very nice. Measurements are approximately 34" wide. 11 1/4" from front to back and 14 1/4" tall. Antique Globe wernicke step-back barrister. Solid mahogany. 58 inches tall. 34 inches wide, and 11 inches deep for top 3 sections, and 13 1/2 inches deep for the bottom section. Lovely bookcase with original finish. I took a photo of the only spot with a little wear on one section in the last section. Bottom door sticks but opens. This bookcase is beautiful. Nothing appears to be missing, all hardware is intact and working. Some scratching that comes along with being an antique is present on the top and sides of bookcase. Only flaw is that the 3rd shelf glass on the bottom left is cracked. The glass is still intact but held together with tape to prevent further damage. Also, all tension hinges are in place. Offered in this auction is a Globe Wernicke mahogony bookcase top. 3/4 size. There is no tag on the underside of this unit to tell us but we know from the four small tacks, this is where the label was, it has been torn off, but it does reveal its made by Globe Wernicke and its obvious that the wood is mahogony. This auction is for the top only, the base is in one photo but its only there for display purposes, the base will be offered in another auction. This top an the base being offered in another auction is definately a leg up on putting together a 3/4 size mahogony stacking bookcase. I think you will find the photo's reveal the great condition of this unit.

Offered for your bidding consideration in this auction is one Globe Wernicke mahogony four stack bookcase with drawer base. This is for only one stack of bookcases. I have enclosed a photo of a pair of bookcases but the photo is only to show the two units are perfectly matched. The two units together locked with each other is a nice feature. Give more stability. This unit has four units, two 8 1/2" units, one 10 1/4" an then one 12" unit, plus, this unit has the highly desired drawer base. All units still have their original labels, I have enclosed a couple photos of the labels. The finish on this unit is not great, a good refinish would make this a georgous bookcase.

This item came from my Grandmothers Estate. Made to compliment the Globe-Wernicke Company cabinetry/office furniture. Sides and top are finger joined. Hinges are original and in good working order. The box measures 5 1/2” long x 3 1/8" deep and 4 1/8” tall. It was made to hold 5” x 3” index cards. There is a green Globe-Wernicke label on the inside back indicating that this is Model No. 83-C.

Vintage Globe-Wernicke Oak File Box No. 83C Junior Tray 5 1/2" x 4" x 4 1/4" in good condition. Lovely patina to the oak. Working brass hinges connecting the lid to the bottom of the box, dovetail design, some of the dovetailing does look to have been separated but still in good condition, the bottom has been repaired as it was split in two when I found the box, and the top looks have tape residue. This is a wonderful little box to hold all your treasures! I found this box in a bunch of my grandparents items and believe it to have been acquired in the 1940-50's. I am pleased to offer a very fine antique miniature bookcase similiar to the Globe Wernicke bookcases! The bookcase has three shelves with brass knobs to pull the shelves out and upwards and are covered with thin sheets of selenit on the backsides- a mineral often used instead of glass. The condition is very good with signs of age and handling. The width measures a bit over 6" the height measures 9 1/8" and the depth measures 2 1/4" on the bottom and 1 7/8" on the top.

Located in Edmonds Washington 98020. This Highly collectible Vintage Antique Stacking Sectional Bookcase. By Globe Wernicke. The wood is in very good condition. The glass doors need to be cleaned. But are in great shape. No cracks or chips in the glass. Universal 13 inch unit-Pattern 813-GRADE is: 4098 1/2 4 Sections High with Top& Base. By 1936. GW had introduced the Ambassador style, which appears to be Universal style book sections with a different style base and top. The sections have metal strips(often called“straps” that cover the joints between the sections. And also serve to lock one stack to another stack next to it. These straps are finished in what GW called an“oxidized” finish. Knobs are typically made of brass. RARE 3/4 width(25" Globe-Wernicke top in solid Maple(style 598 1/2) In great shape considering it is 100+ years old. Original finish w/original tag. This is a size"D" depth top. Little dusty and could benefit from some light cleaning. There are scratches consistent with age and there appears to be some uneven aging to the stain on the top(as if there were books placed on the top and not moved for years. Exposing some of the top to sun and other parts not so much) You should be able to see this in the pictures. No water, mold damage. I also have the corresponding base for auction as well. Vtg Globe Wernicke File Box Alphabet Dividers in Dovetailed 3x5 Weis Card Box
Vintage Flip Top Weis Oak File box for 3 x 5 inch cards with a full set of"hard-to-find" vintage Globe Wernicke Alphabet Dividers. All dividers have green tabs at the top and say"Patented February 19. 1924; Globe-Wernicke; No. 8035; Made in the U.S.A. There is one tab for each letter of the alphabet(X& Y are combined) plus 21 extras. The label for the letter"L" has been replaced(handwritten) the rest are original printed labels. The box is nicely dovetailed and has the Weis sticker on the front. Sticker shows some wear(see photo) and there is a chip on one side of the box- see photo. Box measures 5 5/8 x 8 1/4 x 4 1/2. Minor wear& discoloration on the box should go away with a good polish.

Up for auction is this really nice vintage library card cabinet by Globe Wernicke from Cincinnati.It is a 2 drawer unit. I don't know when it was produced. It still has a paper label on the inside of the cabinet that has the makers name and the stain number. The drawers have dovetails. The cabinet does not. There is a small strip of the veneer missing on the back panel of the cabinet at the bottom approx. 1/2' wide see photo no. 5. It also still has the catalog brass medallion on the side see photo no. 6. It has been refinished at 1 time or another. But seems to still be it's original color. It measures approx.14' across x 16 1/2' deep and 5 1/2' high. The drawers are in good solid condition and good working order. Please ask questions before bidding. Payment is due 7 days fro closing.
