Louis XV style. It has beautiful, original, paint and parcel gilt wood with cane and silk, or silk blend, fabric. The seats are tufted silk. The backs of the chairs are a combination of cane and fabric. The fabric is original and is a pale sage or mint color. There is a woven pattern of cabbage roses or chrysanthemums with some gold color in the leaves and tips of the flowers as well as a darker green accent. The chairs feature the original webbing. Both are in very good vintage condition with some slight cosmetic aging/evidence of use to the fabric, which a gentle cleaning should resolve. There are no rips, tears, etc. The cushion foam is a little ... morestiff in some areas from age. The cane is good with no rips or tears. The frames are in very good condition with only a few minor nicks. This is a very elegant and beautiful chair. It is not marked. The chairs have a flared shape which is particularly pronounced from the back profile. They are generous in size with abundant, original hair fiber stuffing/padding. They are lightly tufted, on the front side of the backs, in a geometric pattern. The wood frames are fluted on the backs and smooth on the remainder of the frame. This is a fabulous piece that dates to the Mid Century(1950s- 1960s) with plenty of Draper era elegance. The bench is a luxurious piece of fine quality. It features a French Provincial, Louis XVI style and form. The chair has a solid wood(no veneer) frame with fabric seat and removable arm cushions. The wood frame has a whitewashed finish in a cream, light tan color. It features carved/incised floral medallion accents at the tops of the legs as well as on the arms.
