ANTIQUE SOLID SILVER DRESSING TABLE POT HM BIRMINGHAM 1909 & LINER BY COALPORT
BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID SILVER DRESSING TABLE DISH WITH LID AND PORCELAIN LINER BY COALPORT– EDWARDIAN ERA BY HENRY CLIFFORD DAVIS HALLMARKED BIRMINGHAM 1909 This is a beautiful solid silver dressing table pot with its original white porcelain liner by Coalport. Hallmarked for the late Edwardian era in 1909. It has a silver lid with an attractive engine-turned pattern of lines around a blank circular cartouche. Polished mirror sides and stands on three claw feet. There are no personal monograms or inscriptions of any kind. The pictures do not do this elegant piece of silver justice– it was difficult to photograph due to reflections. HALLMARKS: The hallmarks are on the base of the silver holder and the lid. The main set. On the base, are: the letters“HCD” in a rectangle for Henry Clifford Davis; the Anchor mark to show that the silver was ... moreassayed in Birmingham; the lion passant denoting solid English silver; the letter“k” for the year 1909. On the lid there is a further lion passant and date letter“k” to show that the lid and base are matched and original. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS/WEIGHT: It is 6cm in diameter and 3cm in height. Including the feet which are 1cm. The silver holder alone weighs 27g and the liner 24g. So a total weight of 51g. CONDITION: Both the holder and the liner are in very good condition. Especially considering their age. There are the usual surface marks common to silver as it is a very soft metal. There are a few small. Slight dings and light scratches here and there, only noticeable on close inspection. Any other marks are reflections only. The claw feet are in good order and it stands secure and even. The hinge on the lid is also in good order and it seems to open and shut fine. As noted above. It was difficult to photograph due to reflections. Overall. German 17th - 18th Century Silver Repousse Dressing Table Box or Travel Box
Offered for sale is a wonderful late 17th century or early 18th century silver dressing table box used for salves or ointments. The box measures 2 inches(5 cm. in diameter. It stands 3/4 inches tall. It weighs 1.1 ounces or 32 grams. It is decorated with repousse grape leaves. Grapes and pears. Condition is very good. There is some roughness to the edge of the lid where someone tried to open it. These items, while tight fitting, will open when turned and pulled gently. I have shown a similar box in a travel set from Augsburg, late 17th century. Judging from its wine and eating motif, the box most likely belonged to one of these traveling eating sets. There are surface scratches and small dents consistent with its age and use. ANTIQUE CUT CRYSTAL GLASS AND SILVER TOPPED POWDER/COSMETIC/VANITY/DRESSING TABLE JAR BY WILLIAM HENRY SPARROW- HALLMARKED LONDON 1919 This is a really lovely antique powder/cosmetic/vanity/dressing table solid silver topped jar by William Henry Sparrow. Hallmarked for London 1919, one year after the end of the First World War. It is a very classy piece with a simple. Elegant silver top and beautifully cut crystal glass body with a lovely sunburst or flower pattern on the base. We are not sure if the silver top is the original one for the jar as it fits but not snugly. The pictures do not do this lovely silver topped jar justice– it was difficult to photograph the detail of the cut glass in particular. HALLMARKS: The lid bears the full English silver hallmarks externally on the rim. They are: the letters“W.H.S” for William Henry Sparrow; ... morethe letter gothic“d” for 1919; the lion passant denoting solid English silver; the Leopard’s Head for the London Assay Office. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS/WEIGHT: Height(including lid) 6cm; Diameter– 5.5cm. Silver top– 6.5cm diameter; height– 1.5cm. The weight is very heavy for its size due to the lead crystal of the glass– the silver top is 11g and the jar is 150g. So a total weight of 161g. CONDITION: Overall. The glass is in very good condition– there are no major chips or cracks, just tiny nibbles on the protruding edges, as you would expect from a jar of this age and not noticeable. The silver top is also in very good condition. Especially considering its age. There are no holes. It has some little dints in it and a slight indentation in a line across it which has lowered the rim a bit just above the hallmarks. As noted above. We are not sure if this is the original top as it fits but not snugly. This is a lovely antique silver topped powder jar from just after the end of the First World War. A quite magnificent piece of Art Nouveau. As useful as beautiful, this stylish hand mirror is made from sterling silver with a hallmark for Birmingham 1913, celebrating it's 100 year this year. The makers initials, W.B over Ld into a heart, for the silversmith, Williams(Birmingham) Ltd. The back features a stylized lady with long flowing hair and a flower in her hair enjoying a Sunrise design. Underneath is decorated with stylized flowers and foliage and the handle with Lilies. The bevelled mirror is original in excellent condition(with a few superficial scratches) no chips or damage to the silvering, held in place with a decorative rope bezel. For sale is a marvellous Hallmarked Sterling Silver Boxed Reynolds Angels Dresser Set consisting of a hand-mirror. Two Hairbrushes, two clothes brushes, all in original box and dated to 1958. Everything is in very good condition. Looks like the contents have been mostly stored away and hardly used. The mirror measures 9 1/8" x 5" and has a slight blemish in the bottom(see pic) The hair-brush measures 8 7/8" x 2 7/8" The clothes brush measures 6" x 1 1/2" All the items could do with a polish to bring out their best, but otherwise no damage. Vintage Frosted Satin Glass Lady's Dressing table Jars 5 Piece Set
This is a very nice set of 5 jars hand painted with raised pink flowers and leaves. The glass is satin glass with a frosted look of off white. Each lid has a very subdues hint of pink. The jars are hand painted with all the necessities a lady would need on her dressing table. Water. Oil soap, Boric. There are no marking of a manufacturer, but these may be old Westmoreland. The jars range in size from 2 2/4" tall to 4" tall wither the lids on. All are in great condition; the soap dish has a very small flea bite on the inside rim of the bowl that is almost indistinguishable. There is some paint worn off on the letters on one jar; the first letter(s) is a bit worn but you can still see"pples" Flower petals are slightly worn off on a couple for the jars. Still a very attractive set.

RS Germany Hand Painted Vanity/ Dressing Table Jar/ Green Stamp
This is a gorgeous example of the RS Germany's ceramic ware. This piece has a hand painted lid with an iridescent lustre on its base. It has two gold plated lines at the top and bottom of this vanity jar. It is in great shape with no cracks. Dings or wear one should know of. It is stamped RS Germany in green. This was the Tillowitx factory that did this before World War 1 into World War 11. RS Germany is part of the wording in marks used by the Tillowitz. Germany, factory of Reinhold Schlegelmilch from 1914 until about 1945. The porcelain was sold decorated and undecorated. The Schlegelmilch families made porcelains marked in many ways. RS Germany was printed in red, orange, green, and blue. See also ES Germany, RS Poland, RS Prussia, RS Silesia, RS Suhl, and RS Tillowitz. This would make a gorgeous piece for any collector.

Two small square mats approx 15 cm x 15 cm and one rectangular mat approx 22 cm x 29 cm. All with painted blue scalloped edges. These items have been stored in a bag in a drawer for many years along with similar linen and embroidered items. They have been stored folded so have crease lines within the linen and some of the edges have turned over in places. On the whole they look clean with no nasty stains. there is one small mark which I have included a photo of and also the same small square has two pin holes in it where a ticket was attached. VINTAGE Silver Lidded Dressing Table ROUGE POT( 1939 Hallmarked. This is a VINTAGE silver lidded glass dressing table rouge( jar or pot that was made by B& Co silversmiths of Birmingham in 1939. It is 10cm high by 9cm across at its widest point. The glass pot is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. The push fit lid is in good condition with less than usual light surface scratching. It is minimally dented in 3 areas but this damage is not so noticeable. The lid is hallmarked B& Co. Lion passant, P, showing that it was hallmarked in 1939. The stand shows B& Co, lion passant, anchor and P. There is a mirror on the inside of the lid which unfortunately is broken as one can see in one of the photos attached.

Vintage Bell Bros Maple Dressing Table 1930's
Up for auction is this vintage dressing table. It is made of maple and would date back to the 1930's or so. It is a piece by well known Queensland maker Bell Bros. The piece bears all the hallmarks of them with beautiful details and carvings. It comes from a deceased estate and was part of a bedroom suite in which only the wardrobe had the makers sticker on it. Definitely Bell Bros though. The dressing table has 3 drawers and a large mirror. It measures 107cm wide. 50cm deep and stands 85cm high. It is 157cm high to the top of the mirror. A Fine and Rare Early 19th Century British Colonial Dressing Table from the Island of Jamaica in the West Indies. It dates from the William IV Period and was made from solid Mahogany and Lignum Vitae that was Hand-Carved by Slaves on the Plantation. C. 1835. The Pedestal, with Balusters and Acanthus Leaf carving resting on a Triangular base with Bun feet, has been adapted in the West India Creole style and is typical of Jamaican Colonial furniture of the period. The hand-carved Fanlight decoration on the front is particularly well done and undoubtedly the work of a master Kingston Cabinet-Maker. This exquisite piece of furniture has been attributed to the most famous Cabinetmaker in 19th Century Jamaica, Ralph Turnbull. 2 Unused Irish Linen 3 Piece Dressing Table Sets Transfer Printed To Embroider
Two unused Irish linen oblong pieces. One pink and one soft green transfer printed with floral 3 piece dressing table or duchess sets and ready to embroider. A great project for someone. There is a leaflet with them that suggests they were a gift from woman magazine, and 7 anchor skeins of embroidery silk in greens, pinks and red. Each piece of linen measures 21 inches by 15 inches and is printed with the same lilly pad shaped mats that are I think intended to be cut out on completion. Good vintage condition no holes, repairs or iron mould, both items are clean. Pretty floral design and dating I would think from the 1930 to 1950 period. This attractive and well made original lidded pot is a lovely design. the base is hand cut glass and the lid is full English Sterling silver Hallmarked for Birmingham 1917. there is the makers mark WJM&Co. it is in good condition a few dints to the lid from use. It has great antique character and charm and measures 3 1/4 inches or 8.3 c.m. tall and 3 inches or 7.8 c.m. across. It looks wonderful on a dressing table or side table today. I post world wide.

Here is a fabulous very old Antique 19th Century Ornate Bronze Standing Dressing Table Shaving Mirror featuring Griffins. Cherubs, reticulated foliage, a torch top; all sensational. The mirror portion is tin that has aged to a bronzy patina with a foggy reflection. The easel portion has a wire replacement but does still stand. Overall measurements are 23" tall, 15" wide and the bronze is approximately 1/4" thick. Exquisite bronze work that I believe dates around 1850. Description Welcome to my Auction. For a beautiful sterling solid silver dressing table tray in lovely condition. By Walker& Hall. Weighing a substantial- 543 grams. Being a superb gauge of silver. Hallmarked clearly- Sheffield 1927. Silversmith's makers mark(rubbed but readable) W& H" Walker& Hall. Further stamped clearly on the base- Walker& Hall Sheffield. This solid silver tray is of rectangular form having a slightly raised edge with a beaded border& sitting on its flat base. Simply Stunning. In superb condition with surface scratches as would be expected. There are no dings or dents probably due to the tray being of such a substantial gauge of silver. Measures approx- 12 inches or 30.5 cms in length. Tad under 9 inches or 22.6 cms in width. A lovely quality tray that will stand out adorn the best of dressing ... moretables! Just Lovely.
