The base is in the form of a young maiden holding her arms aloft& wearing a draping dress. The harp shaped support with scrolls supports a beveled edge mirror. The mirror is showing some blackening from age, but still displays well(peace, sister. Better my hand reflected than my ugly mug) The patina is varied and mostly dark with some lighter colors scattered here& there. The base as set down hard at one time& it rocks front to back just a bit. A felt dot under one side should put it to rights. There is a peek up inside the bottom, just for the information of it. Deco retro dressing table set - bakelite lucite perspex boxes swans + tray
This set consists of three lidded boxes and two swan letter or kerchief holders. They are made of a powder blue coloured lucite/plastic and the base of the tray looks to be like perspex. The trays measures 27.5 x 19cms. There are no chips or cracks to be found on any of the pieces. There are quite a lot of scuffs and scratches to the perspex tray base but that is to be expected from something of this age that has been used. The exposed blue surfaces on all pieces show fading; you can see by the reverse side of the swans and the interior of the boxes that the original colour was a slightly deeper blue. There is discolouration to the exposed surfaces and a mottled effect has appeared also with some small brown marks that I have shown in the third and fourth photos. I don't think this mottling will clean off. It is just a result of light ... moreexposure and age. So, it is not in pristine condition but it still displays very nicely indeed. Please bear the flaws in mind if and when you decide to bid; this is a vintage item and obviously shows signs of it's age and use.

Engraved silver inlays. Highest quality collectors items. Each piece is heavy and well made. Bristles are all in good condition too. One clothes brush was possibly made slightly later as an additional or replacement piece. It bears the same Mapping& Webb hallmarks but was assayed a few years later. Vintage 1970s German Retro Storage Pots Containers Dressing Table Display
A lovely set of 2 storage pots made of a hard plastic type material giving a lovely tortoise shell effect. They originate from the 1970s from Germany. They have a height of 13cm and a diameter of 10.5cm. Both storage canisters have their lids but they are a little warped so fit onto the pots but not perfectly. However ideal for storing eg cotton wool or other small items. Otherwsie in very good condition. Minor wear to the lid of 1 pot which cannot be seen unless very close up. Happy Bidding! This is a pretty dressing table set. Consisting of a mirror, clothes and hairbrushes. I'm not sure what they are made of and they are not marked, but the set is heavy and seems good quality. They may need a clean, please look at all the photos. There are few scratches and foxing on the mirror, but are in good condition apart from this. Please note these are a silver colour. Please be sympathetic about the new Royal Mail postal charges. I only charge what I have to for postage and packing and I don't like these increases either. But the options are limited for small time sellers. Prices are for safe packaging and recorded delivery All our items will be sent by 1st or 2nd class recorded delivery. For sale a beautiful footed jewelry box or casket from France circa 1830. It is heavy. Presumably copper that has been gilded. Over time the gilding has worn but showing the patina of age is always a desirable effect. Lined in velvet and trimmed on the inside(Upgraded) I have not seen the original lining but this one is ready for real use no need to re-line.
