An Exceptional Value Repurposed Rustic Country Barn Cabinet/ Cupboard This cabinet came fron an inside wall of a pre Civil War Barn. In the Catskill Mountains. It is made from an old wood paint crate and a piece of tin that were white washed and red barn painted. The old wood crate is from the Devoe and Raynolds Paint and Varnish Products Co. There are 3 round Trade Mark seals on the box sides. The seals depict a squating Native American Indian with a feather in his headband. The round Seal says ~"Devoe and Raynolds- Founded 1754- The First American Paint Maker" The corners of the box are all 1/8" dovetails with 22 mortise cuts per corner. 1800's Antique Pie Safe- Primitive Cupboard- Crude& Hand Crafted Primitive Early American hand-sawed Pie Safe. Cupboard or jelly cabinet. This Pie Safe stands about 4.25 feet Tall and 5 feet Wide and 16" Deep. It's clear to see that it was originally made in the 1800's before the use of electric circular saws. Veneers and machined nails. All the original parts are very crude, though the maker certainly built this beauty to last a long time. The entire top is one big solid piece of wood. Not boards. That's a 5 foot long and 16" wide board cut from a single tree! I'm not sure what kind of wood was used. But I think maybe Walnut or Oak. You can easily see the years of wear in the wood and exceptional patina. Even the door knobs and latches were hand-made from wood, though the screws to keep them in place have ... morebeen replaced at some point during later years. This was made to be VERY sturdy, unlike furniture made commercially. This is an awesome Early American piece and is ready to display or use as a cupboard for just about anything. This is a very heavy piece. It requires special care to move. It has only been moved twice since originally crafted at an estate near Howell. MI. I'm no furniture expert. But there are definitely signs that there were repairs and/or upgrades made to this piece in later years without distracting too much from the original handiwork. And the glass is not original to this piece, though two of the glass panes appear to be earlier 1900's. This piece was likely originally crafted for storing food safely away from bugs and cooling fresh baked goods, with tin sheets(in place of the glass) with designs created by a series of hand-punched holes. Antique Hanging Corner Cupboard Cabinet Blue Paint Mirror Primitive SE PA to start a new paragraph use- This is a charming old"make do" fancy piece out of Southeastern Pennsylvania. It's a heavy piece and the frame looks to be constructed out of second hand hard wood crating boards; the boards are 3/4" thick. There is old paint on it. Looks to be several coats of paint on the front from over the years, none of them new. There is plaster molding trim framing the outside edges of the front and framing the door opening. That's what makes it a"fancy" make do piece) This piece is solid and sturdy. There is light chipping of the paint on the front exposing some of the plaster in the molding. And overall age to the painted surface, the door closes easily but there is a slight gap at the top, there are also some gaps ... morein the boards. The mirror is old and has some losses on the back, but all are small and it's perfect with this piece. The mirrored glass is beveled on one side only opposite the door handle and was probably taken from an old mirror. I'd never replace it. Fancy metal pull that was also painted over at some point. These type pieces are getting very hard to find and this came up in a small shop here in PA. It's a one of a kind. This is not a typical offering from us, but I just couldn't resist it. And it's been confirmed as fabulous from all the"ooooh and ahhhh" comments since I brought it home, even from members of my household who arent' into antiques so much. The unboxed weight is about 22lbs(shipping weight about 27lbs) Measures Approximately 27 inches tall, the front is 16 inches across, the two back side boards are 12 inches across forming a"V" in the back, the cabinet is 10 inches deep at the widest point from the center of the"v" to the front, with one small shelf inside. The bottom is flush, and this will stand on the floor as shown or could be displayed on top of a table or other piece you may have to complement it.

American Chippendale Cupboard on Chest of Drawers. Pennsylvania Late 18th Century c. 1780-1800 Item# 120201UHP01 This is an American Chippendale Cupboard on Chest of Drawers crafted of solid Walnut. Pennsylvania circa 1780-1800. A finely crafted work, it features a beautiful hand carved molding around the crown, surrounding a dovetailed top with nearly black levels of oxidization. Bevelled"lamb's tongue" columns flank blind-cupboard doors with tombstone panels, the traditional door frame joined with glued through-tenon joints, locking with an original hand made iron lock and swinging open over original hinges with mostly original screws. The inside of the panels boast the rough unfinished chisel work of the artisan, shaping the panel to smoothly rabbet into the frame. All original shelves line the cupboard[patched along the ... morefronts] the top shelf being half the depth of the other two, all shelves being permanent and sliding into the case from the back along hidden grooves. The cupboard case has wooden pins locking the tenoned joints together. The sides constructed of two pieces of solid walnut, joined at the back with pine and poplar secondary boards with traces of an early red stain, lined around the edges with original iron wrought nails. The lower case features three drawers, each with replaced hardware, though the integrity of the holes were preserved by using an old hole for the knob hardware and filling the other with a matched walnut wooden pin. An applied lip runs along the top of the lower two drawers, the top drawer lip being carved of the solid. The drawers feature hand dovetail construction with yellow pine secondary woods with a hand chamfered bottom. The construction is quite distinctive. The back boards dovetailed onto the sides versus the traditional method where the sides of the drawer dovetail onto the backboard; the inside of each drawer has faint numeric inscriptions at the corners by the original craftsman to ensure the correct board was used for each drawer. Measuring just 67 7/8" high, it is an incredibly attractive size and is simply magnetic visually. Crafted of solid walnut primary woods, this is almost indistinct behind a dry and well oxidized early surface- this beautiful depth and darkness is indicative of the love and care shown to this piece for the last two hundred years, where it was left untouched and unaltered in basically the same state as when it first left the craftsman's shop. Here is an absolutely terrific find. Recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh and in very nice condition for an early 20th century quartersawn oak cupboard, with beautiful carvings including detailed leaves on the banquet drawers and upon the doors and mirror back top. This lovely sideboard has a nice, large serving area top surface, measuring 59 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches front to back( 24 inches deep from the front of banquet drawers) with a surface height of 38 1/2 inches tall. These are the overall dimension of the bottom section of the sideboard, which travels easily in two pieces. The top mirror back section measures 40 inches tall by 55 inches wide and 11 inches deep, front to back, at it's deepest point, allowing both top and bottom to be easily blanket wrapped for safe and easy shipping. The mirror back top features ... morecolumns, candle stands on each side 12 inches above the top surface with beveled mirrors behind to maximize reflection. These mirrors measure 15 1/2 inches tall by 12 1/2 inches wide and are clear with beveled edges as is the larger central mirror measuring 27 1/4 inches tall and 19 1/2 inches wide. The cabinet has 2 drawers. One on either side below the top surface, each 14 1/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches deep, and two delightfully carved banquet drawers each 18 inches wide by 16 inches front to back by 3 1/4 inches deep. Below the drawers are cabinets with beautifully carved doors. The two side cabinets measure 18 inches wide by 16 inches deep and 24 inches tall. In the bottom of the right side facing cabinet is a cellarette 16 inches by 16 inches by 4 inches tall, with room for 9 bottles with 13 inches overall clearance, that slides in and out for easy access. Above the top shelf on that side is an additional 9 inches of clearance space. The opposing cabinet is the same dimensions but divided into two shelves with 9 inches clearance above the lower shelf and 14 inches clearance above the top shelf. The cupboard is a very early and very primitive piece. It is made mostly from pine and put together with rose head nails. Overall it is in good condition. It has been refinished before. And it probably had doors originally. Also there is a some damage to the right bottom corner of it, but nothing major. These issues do not affect the functionality of the cupboard and It would be a perfect display piece.
