Having just been restored by my very experienced restorer(50 years) it is consequently in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use in the home or for retailing in a prestigious showroom or fair. The second thing that strikes you about this cupboard is the colour and patination. The cabinetmaker that made this cabinet chose some very good quality timbers for the job. This has resulted all these years later in a cupboard with a gorgeous soft rich warm colour and patination that can only be attained by mahogany of this age and quality. Thirdly are the proportions. The design of this cupboard is just right and the cupboard benefits from having a good balance. I purchased this cabinet in France many years ago and I have been using ... moreit for storage in an unfitted kitchen. I was told it was an old food cabinet. Reluctantly for sale due to kitchen remodel and shortage of space! The doors. Sides and front are all solid oak. There are splits on the left side of the cabinet. As seen in the pictures, due to contraction and expansion over the years with humidity changes. There are other hairline cracks as one would expect in a piece this size and age but it just adds to the rustic charm. Please look at the pictures carefully. The interior is lighter in color and has 3 adjustable newer pine shelves that sit in the wood grooves with metal braces. The bottom of the cabinet looks newer than the main body. The top of the cabinet. As viewed from above, has a couple of old worm holes and a 2 inch hole that can been seen only from the inside when you look up. The back of the cabinet frame is oak with old pine panels. Each door has a decorative metal vent. I do not know what type of metal it is but it has a dark patina. It measures 84" high. 50" top corner of cornice across. Almost 48" wide across flat front. 46" wide interior. 21" deep to top cornice. 20" deep outside flat. 18" deep inside. This American set is constructed of solid Oak with gorgeous Burl Walnut decorative veneers. It has an English Jacobean look with a Spanish Revival or Moorish flair, and is sure to attract attention and garner compliments. Hardware is original, with vintage KBC( Keeler Brass Company) drawer pulls. The set consists of the following: Dining Table. Two individual pull-out leaves give this Table enormous flexibility. With both leaves stowed. The Table measures 66 inches in length. With one leave out, the Table extends to 84 inches in length. With both leaves, the Table becomes a spacious 102 inches in length. It is 38 inches wide and 30-3/4 inches in height. The Table has minimal age appropriate wear with no damage or significant problems. We rate the overall condition as very good to excellent(see pictures) Six(6) Chairs. Includes one captain(or carver) Chair plus five(5) side Chairs. The top of each Chair has an unusual decorative applied trim piece made of a vintage resin material(see picture#8) We at first thought it was made of wood. But a few spots are worn smooth revealing the true material. All Chairs are impressively ornate, with extensive carved and turned wood. The fabric covering on each is in good shape. We rate their overall condition as very good. Court Cupboard. A tall piece. It measures 65 inches high, 43 inches wide, and is 18-1/2 inches deep. Great old medicine cabinet with old chippy green paint with burn orange detail around the mirror. The hinges and hook latch are solid brass. It dose have some minor splits and cracks. The mirror is mounted to the surface of the door with decorative trim to hold it in place. The mirror is scratched and distressed but still usable. The interior has built in shelves and compartments. This is a very old wooden. Painted 2-door cabinet. The details to the legs and top cabinet are remarkable. It's truly a one-of-kind piece. We purchased it from a family in northen California and were told that a 90 year-old man's father built it. They said they had purchased it from him at his estate sale and they had it for over 15 years. To that end we estimate the age is over 100 years. Here is a very sweet pair of cupboard. Basket or bench pillows from an 1860s"Bear Tracks" quilt. This quilt was hand pieced and hand quilted using turkey red and green.now a lovely fugitive green which has nicely mellowed to tan. Each pillow measures approximately 11 inches by 11 inches. I have tied on a hang tag to the corner of one of the pillow which reads"Bear Tracks Circa 1860s" For the backs of each pillow I have used the backing of the same quilt, which was done with unbleached muslin. This showcases the hand quilted outline of the"Bear Tracks" design. Both pillows are firmly plumped with new premium fiberfil.ready for that special place in your home. Charming pine country style corner cabinet. The top half has glass double doors covering a carved edge shelf and behind the doors tiny hearts have been carved into the woodwork. The entire piece is topped with stately crown molding. Below the cabinet are two small drawers. Perfect for storing odds and ends. Each drawer has a wooden knob and sturdy dovetail joint construction. The lower cabinet also has double drawers with pointed arch panelling that mimics the glass doors above. The bottom skirt has been fret carved and is flanked by simple folk-style feet. Overall. This piece is in very good used condition, exhibiting only mild wear as a result of age and use, with the most noticeable area of wear being around the feet. No other breaks or repairs. For sale is an American primitive Shoe Fly Pie Safe. Dimensions are 49.5" wide. By 17.25 deep, by 31" tall. I bought this in North Carolina from an antique store in 2006. It's been sanded and cleaned up, I added puck lights and painted the entire cabinet inside and out. The finish is black distressed with a blue/grey trim line detail. The inside finish is an antique white that has been glazed for an antiqued feel. It's ready to wall hang or stand on the floor. Screens are original and varnished with a clear coat. This good sized example has a string inlaid top over a central bowfront drawer flanked by cupboard doors being raised atop square tapering legs terminating in spade feet. The piece has already been stripped for you so all you need to do is finish it. The Cabinet measures 46 1/2" high x 41" across x 18" deep. It has two drawers that are kind of hidden within the molding. they are metal lined. So there are 22 drawers. 3 doors across the bottom as shown. On each side of the cabinet is a door with a shallow space that tools would have hung. As for condition. It is missing the back but if it's against a wall then who really cares. Two drawers on the front have been shaved at the edge as seen in the pics. The center door on the bottom should have some type of chain attachment to catch the drop when it opens. I loved the bureau. However, I needed to relinquish it due to space and it was starting to fall apart. I saved the hardware. I tried to shine it with Copper Cream but it didn't work. The yellow/gold tone has started to peel off on some. These are really neat drawer pulls. Very unique. All the screws are original to the hardware also. This is a Fantastic Primitive Antique Vintage Pine Wood Pie Safe/Jelly-Blanket-Storage Cabinet that was painted Avocado Green and has the distressed look. I purchased this from an Estate Sale where I was able to speak to the original owners grandson. He. At the age of 67 now, told me he remembers this being in his grandparents house for as long as he can remember back. He told me his mother painted the cupboard back in the 1960's for his grandmother the Avocado Green color it is now on the outside and a canary yellow on the inside. It has its original double doors with key turn, however no key with it, and original double pull out bottom drawers. The shelves on the inside have been replaced and are not the originals. There was one and I put that on the bottom shelf because the wood is split. I believe finding some older barn wood for ... morereplacement shelves would be great. Wow. You don`t see many like this. Library Bureau Solemakers. The Drawers must have had a divider in it at one time. I bought it out of a house that was using it in their Country Kitchen. They had silverware. Untensils and all stuff like that in it. It measures 40" high x 15 3/8 wide x 27" deep. Overall has a very nice look and in very nice condition. Has some dings and maybe a scratch here and there, a little white specs on one side. needs a little screw and a two of those little brass things. An antique Walnut Cabinet with Glass Doors on the front. With both shelf and drawer space, circa 1850. We are pleased to present this antique Walnut Cabinet for your consideration. It features four adjustable shelves in the interior(plus one at the bottom that is not adjustable) In addition. There are two drawers at the bottom. The shelves are protected behind two glass doors, which makes this piece ideal for use as a display cabinet or book shelf needing dust protection for the contents. Ornate wood trim is found over the upper portions of both doors. The shelf adjustment system is shown as an inset to our picture#5. A small board fits into slots found at the front and back. The board then provides support for the shelf above. The two large doors have a locking mechanism. But the key appears built in. It does not look like it is original ... moreto the piece. The trim plate on the lock is free to spin around, but in good physical shape(it needs to be secured with a couple of small nails) The two lower pieces of glass show substantial"ripple" Typical of antique glass production. It is much less obvious on the upper two pieces, and we guess that they were replaced more recently. The trim over the upper glass has some splits and shade differences, suggesting repairs or replacements have been made. The drawers at the bottom appear to have their original hardware. Each has a large lock mechanism in the center. But we do not have the matching key. Handles are quite heavy and substantial, with large ornate plates behind the handles. The fronts of the drawers are covered with a beautiful Birds Eye Maple veneer, which shows some small chips around the edges. Dovetail joints are found at the front, with more of a box style joint found at the back(see pictures#8 and#9 for close up detail) The Cabinet measures 78 inches high(68 inches exclusive of the trim piece at the back edge of the top. This is a solid wood w/ veneer circa early 1900's buffet server. As you can see from the photos. There is some veneer that needs to be replaced. Otherwise, this is a solid piece of furniture and would make a wonderful addition to your decor. Here is an absolutely fabulous early to mid-19th century heavy carved oak sideboard with hutch top in the tradition of a Welsh dresser with beautiful dragon motif carvings on the doors. A lovely form, hand dovetailed drawers and detailed carving on all edges and trim including dentition on three sides around the top. It has small cabinets behind the ornately carved dragon doors in the hutch section as well as display shelves, and has drawers across the top with more open cabinet space below in the base section, which is where you see the traditionally older construction front to back planking across the bottom. I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition, construction and overall beauty of this fantastic piece as well as a detailed description above. This piece was recently ... moreimported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland and is truly a rare find, especially in such wonderful condition. This antique heavy carved sideboard with hutch top stand 85 inches tall and measures 69 inches wide and 17 inches deep. Front to back. It travels easy in two pieces- the top hutch top measuring 69 wide by 12 front to back by 50 inches tall. The two cabinets behind the beautifully carved doors in the top are each 13 1/2 inches wide by 9 inches deep front to back and 24 inches tall, with a shelf splitting that space with 11 inches clearance above the cabinet base and 9 inches clearance across the shelf. There are also display shelves, with 9 1/2 inches clearance above the base below the shelf, then 12 inches clearance above the first shelf and 24 inches of clearance above the second shelf, below the exquisitely carved bonnet or cornice. Below are three drawers across the top of the base. Each 18 inches wide by 13 front to back by 4 inches deep and further below behind two doors open cabinet space 64 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back by 17 inches tall. EARLY 19th CENTURY PRIMITIVE PENNSYLVANIA PINE LARGE CORNER CUPBOARD
Estate found this fall. Is this large early 19th century Pennsylvania Pine 2 piece Corner cupboard. This cupboard was painted sometime in it's life and was stripped by someone. There is still some white paint on the inside of the bottom doors, which were hand chamfered. The hardware is very early and solid brass, and looks like there were changes in the past, by the holes that do not match up. This is the condition that the cupboard was found. It has really old glass with bubbles and flaws in it, and has hand forged nails. The top inside was painted red by someone, and has unusual shaped shelves, while the bottom is still white inside. This is a large corner cupboard with measurements of 47 inches wide by 7 ft 7" tall and 29 inches deep to the corner trim. The back of the cupboard has some really ancient wall paper on it, and the ... morewood is really old. The top crown has a different dentil molding than you usually see on furniture and between the wood is some kind of filler or plaster perhaps to give it more detail.
