Up for your consideration is this vintage card catalog stacking file. It was found in a recent estate sale. The cabinet has 74 drawers. One draw is missing. Some of the handles have some damage or are missing. Overall the cabinet is very solid. The dimensions are 79.5" tall X 33" wide X 17" deep. There is some paint on the side. There are some scratches and the veneer located on the back is a little loose. Oak Library Card Catalog 6 Drawer - Great for Recipes Crafts Storage
This is a vintage wooden library card catalog cabinet with six drawers. Drawers have brass handles. Perfect for storing craft supplies. Small tools, household items, recipes, apothecary items, and the like.I`m not positive on the maker, but there was a card inside that says Texwood, but I`m not totally sure.The box and drawer fronts are oak, the drawers are plastic and the guides are metal, the hardware is brass. I`m not sure on the age, but I`m guessing 70`s, and it is very heavy for it`s size. A couple of the rods are missing(see photo) But otherwise this is in very good condition. Some marks and scratches as to be expected from normal wear and tear.

This vintage Brodart wooden library card catalog(sometimes also called an apothecary style cabinet by people) could be great for storing crafts. Art supplies, tools, etc. or just looking cool. It has 72 drawers with library labels and beautiful brass pulls, plus 3 middle pull-out trays. The card catalog is a birch color(and I suspect actually birch, but I don't know enough about wood to say for sure. It measures 17.5"D x 40"W x 65"H. I got it from one of the US Geological Services libraries in Denver. Where it made its home since at LEAST the 1970s. It was even still in use until pretty recently! Offering for your bidding consideration is this vintage 15-drawer file system. This beauty measures 33 inches wide. 17 inches in depth and is 14 inches tall. This box was initially part of a stacking card file unit. Since I didn’t have the top section. I decided to add a piece of solid walnut to the top. Although the top doesn’t match exactly to the case, I still think it looks and presents well. Each of the 15 drawers comes with the original plastic pull. The pulls show typical wear from use. The drawer are all wood. Probably poplar, and also present well. The faces of the drawers, as well as the sides and back have been refinished with a satin finish, and present very well. Library Bureau Sole Markers index card file cabinet catalog Circa 1892 RARE
Offered for auction is this rare antique card catalog file cabinet. The cabinet was made by Library Bureau Sole Makers. Has the original label on the front of the cabinet. This cabinet had double rows of file cards in each drawer. You cant read this on the smaller brass plates but they all are marked PAT'D MAR. 15, 92. Cabinet is in very good condition. There is a split in the wood on the top(see pictures) The drawers all slide very well. The oak fronts of these drawers have decorative lines in them. The decorative lines were a popular Eastlake feature for that time period, CIRCA 1892. This is the oldest card file from this company that I have seen. I have even researched some of the history of these online and can't even find a picture of one this old. Most of the ones I am seeing were all made after 1900. I think one of the most ... moreunique things about this cabinet is that most of the file cabinets you see are made to stack on one another and this cabinet has finished edges on top and base, therefore was made to stand alone. Libraries that far back probably didn't need huge sets of drawer files. What you see in the pictures is what I have of this original cabinet. It is missing some of the hardware. These are Library Bureau Makers card catalog. The were in a very old library here in CT until this year's renovations. They have 120 catalog drawers. Pins that run the length of the drawer pull out the front so you can put your punched card in and slide it back through. The metal card snugging paddle is designed to slide along the toothed metal track, but are very difficult to move and could use some sort of lubrication. Drawer faces are dovetailed and backs of drawers are rabbited. Remington Rand Library Card Catalog 45 Drawer Card Filing Cabinet 1960's ?
Greetings vintage furniture lovers and collectors of small items that require organization! Up for auction is a really nice 45 drawer Library Card Catalog by Remington Rands Library Division. This particular unit was once in service at the Detroit Public Library 5201 Woodward avenue.It is stamped as such on each section of files. I believe it is constructed of oak and stained walnut.It breaks down into three sections of 15 drawers.There is an insert that has two pull out work stations that can be placed between any two sets of files.The three sections sit on a wood and steel frame and there is a section that fits on the top that completes it. The drawers are all solid wood and the tracks in the bottom are steel.I think all the hardware on the front of the drawers is brushed aluminum. I saw a basement workshop once that had one these units ... morewith the three sections sitting along the back of a deep workbench side by side. These drawers are big enough to hold some tools like screwdrivers and wrenches and still small enough to store hardware and such. These cabinets have dozens of uses limited only by your imagination! This item is in very good overall condition with great vintage patina.It is only missing 3 knobs. The steel on the stand could use a little TLC but it is very sturdy and heavy! Please look closely at the pictures as they play an important role in describing the actual physical condition of this item. I will upgrade the pictures tomorrow if need be.Some didn't turn out as I had hoped.One picture shows a large blotch on one side.That is paper stuck to the side of the cabinet with some sort of adhesive. I am listing this item for local pick up only.However if you want to pay to have it shipped to you I will assist in any way that I possibly can.
