From the materials used to the production values themselves. Everything about this bookcase is of the utmost quality. The flame mahogany, for instance, displays a remarkably rich complexion and a pronounced grain that are sure to look great in any setting. Complementing the exquisite wood is not only the fine, stained interior, but also the solid brass, winged escutcheons, all of which house functioning locks. The astragal glass itself is quite elegant, providing a classic appearance and a clear, beautifully framed view into the interior of the bookcase. Each section of glass on every door is an individual pane of glass. Shaped bracket feet provide sturdy support, while all shelves are fully adjustable. The bookcase of course disassembles into several pieces: the top moulding, the center upper section, the left and right upper sections, and the base. This is also how the bookcase will ship. Each shelf has a depth of 14.5″ and is adjustable by means of a wooden alligator bracket system. If you are unfamiliar with this system we have included a picture of it. Globe-Wernicke & Macey Barrister Bookcase Section and base - 8 inch inside depth

This base section is marked Globe-Wernicke. I do not see any maker's name on the bookcase section but am sure it is Macey- both fit together well. I believe I refinished both of these about 35 years ago when I did a lot of restoration work with barrister's book case sections- they are ready to use. They are the standard length of about 34 inches. But I believe the 8 inch inside depth is narrower than most Globe-Wernicke sections I used to have. To be more specific. The measurement from the inside face of the door to the front of the back panel is 8 inches. The overall height of the bookcase section measured on the outside at one end is about 10.5 inches. Magnificent Antique Arts& Crafts 1910 Era Mission Oak Bookcase Tall Case Clock. Essentially a Mission oak bookcase with a clock top. The bookcase has 4 shelves. Overall it measures 16 1/2" wide. 10 1/2" deep and 67 1/2" to the top of the frame itself but add another 3 1/2" for the finial piece so it is about 71" high in total. It comes with the original pendulum and it is a time& strike chiming clock. I did not take it apart to check the clock name but I had a Sessions clock years ago that was similar(that one used a glass door bookcase) or it could be New Haven or similar Connecticut maker. Classic Mission slat sides- both sides and back. The top still retains the board that allows access to the movement. The only thing missing was the key but I had an extra brass number 6 size key that fits perfectly. The ... moremovement will run four a bit and stop, I am sure it just needs to be cleaned and oiled as the winding arbor springs feel fine when I tested both. The space from the floor to the underside of the pull-out leather writing surface measures 29 ½” in height. This lovely Walnut Victorian Cylinder Roll Secretary Desk is wearing its original finish, has its original wavy glass and fancy period ebonized brass anchor pulls, is full of character, and is just waiting for its place of prominence in your home! The bookcase top is graced with elegant crown moulding that is accented below with two horizontal ... moreraised burl panels with a carved rosette roundel between them. Lovely geometric picture frame moulding surrounds the elegant original glass doors. These elegant wavy glass doors open to reveal three adjustable walnut shelves that measure 9 ½” in depth by 38” in width. An intact working lock with key completes the beautiful bookcase top. The beautiful bookcase top sits on a gorgeous cylinder roll top base with handsome burl accents on the sides surrounding the cylinder and the three large drawers along with fluted scrolled sconces on the sides of the larger second drawer. This bookcase was made in England sometime around the year 1960. Perhaps most noticeable and hardest to find in good quality furniture are the thirteen paned ... moreastragal glazed glass doors. Inside are two 9.25″ deep adjustable wooden shelves. These shelves adjust with the brass pin system and each shelf has two locations it can be adjusted to. You will also notice that each shelf has a row of cup hooks on the underside. Perfect for hanging tea cups. Below are two drawers that function perfectly and finally a large cabinet section that houses one wooden shelf. Both upper and lower cabinets lock and one key is included. The top and bottom sections separate for easy moving. Small details about this yew wood bookcase add up to reveal the care and skill that went into its construction. A dentil moulded cornice adorns the top. Much more attractive and difficult to make than a straight crown. A carved pediment gives the piece a little extra height. The two drawers were constructed with dovetailed drawer joints, making them as strong as possible. The pulls are brass swan neck pulls, a very good quality handle. Shows some scuffs and scratches to the paint(mostly on the topper) and a gov agency name sticker on one side but very presentable(I was using this in my home for years as a bookcase) Includes the topper which can be removed via inside latches if desired. Measures 32 3/4 inches length. 11 inches depth, and 18 1/2 inches height. Net weight is 33 pounds. This can ship via FedEx ground. But it would be dimensional weight(76 pounds) so it may be costly. Original Bookcase Knob This knob was removed from a Wernicke Elastic barrister bookcase. It's from the short era when Wernicke was based in Grand Rapids. Knob is smaller than what they used after the merger with Globe. The knob pictured is the knob you will receive. Knob is just like it was removed and has not been cleaned. I know it's an original because I am the person who removed it from the bookcase. Dimensions: 1/2" diameter top. 9/32" diameter base. Protrudes 1/2" Condition: Nice. Has not been cleaned or polished. The mounting lag may be a little bent. See pictures. Email if your looking for particular parts for stackers.
