From the materials used to the production values themselves. Everything about this bookcase is of the utmost quality. The flame mahogany, for instance, displays a remarkably rich complexion and a pronounced grain that are sure to look great in any setting. Complementing the exquisite wood is not only the fine, stained interior, but also the solid brass, winged escutcheons, all of which house functioning locks. The astragal glass itself is quite elegant, providing a classic appearance and a clear, beautifully framed view into the interior of the bookcase. Each section of glass on every door is an individual pane of glass. Shaped bracket feet provide sturdy support, while all shelves are fully adjustable. The bookcase of course disassembles into several pieces: the top moulding, the center upper section, the left and right upper sections, and the base. This is also how the bookcase will ship. Each shelf has a depth of 14.5″ and is adjustable by means of a wooden alligator bracket system. If you are unfamiliar with this system we have included a picture of it. The drawers are very clean inside. This secretary was manufactured in January. 1980 and is in excellent condition overall with a few exceptions. There are light dings and one more noticeable ding on the front of the secretary where it drops down(see pics#10, 11) There are also a few tiny chips low on the front two feet and one chip on the very back side of the secretary top. It is not very noticeable when it is against the wall, unless you are looking at the back(see pic#12) The Ethan Allen name is stamped in the top drawer and the date as well as the item number are stamped on the back. Ethan Allen manufactures high quality investment grade furniture that can be passed down through generations. Good overall condition, This four door mahogany breakfront bookcase comes from England. The mahogany is accented with subtle satinwood string inlays on the lower doors and drawers. The astragal glazed doors at the top all lock. And each section of glass is an individual pane. This combined with the dovetailed drawers shows the high level of quality that went into the creation of this lovely bookcase. Originally made around 1960, the bookcase remains in very good condition today with minor wear around the feet and step back where the lower cabinet meets the upper cabinet. The wooden shelves in the upper cabinet are adjustable with a brass pigeon hole system. The entire bookcase comes apart into two pieces(top and bottom) to make it easier to move. The shelf depth in the upper cabinet is 10.75" Each drawer has a brass swan neck drop pull and opens and closes very easily. Finally, the top is finished off with a dentil moulded cornice. Arts Mission Bookcase. Excellent age related condition. Circa 1900. Two very large bookcases. Both being D 12 1/4. Base with drawer in great shape. And drawer opens and closes fine, as do the glass doors. Glass on both cases are wavy and old. But I can't attest to there originality. One of the glass doors has been extended at one point. Who. What, where, or why, I don't know. This is a solid wood series. Made with quartered and fumed oak. The pictures are very accurate in terms of condition and color of the wood. Which is darker then golden oak, with a reddish tint. The top piece does have a bit of lifting. But no splitting. Local pick-up. No shipping unless pre-arranged.

A very beautiful and useful stacking seven piece(includes top and base) sectional bookcase manufactured by Gunn. The oak bookcase has a mahogany finish. Measures 35” wide, 12” deep, and 69 ¾” tall. It features 2 leaded glass sections with original glass. It also has a fold-down secretary with pigeonholes, all original pieces in tact, with working lock& key. There is a large book section and a drawer section. This bookcase is original to my family. Good condition. Lead Glass all original. Secretary has all working parts including original lock& key. The backing pieces have some warping. The back left leg has some surface damage. Please refer to photos. This piece can be fully restored to its original beauty.
