This outstanding stacking desk bookcase ... moreis one of the nicest we have ever seen. It has leaded glass windows in the top two sections below the molded top. The carved fall board has a key that opens or locks the desk section. Inside are two strong desk lid supports and a nice set of pigeon holes with a single pencil drawer-fitted interior. The desk section sits above two full width drawers. The top drawer is shaped to fit the curve. The second drawer is carved to accent the fall board. Both drawers have original brass handles. The lowest section is an extra tall one with a"blind" door or wood paneled door to prevent breakage from feet. The entire piece sits on a molded base section. Quartersawn oak is showcased through the entire piece which is in excellent condition. I believe this case was made by the Viking Company. Overall dimensions are 34 wide, 15 deep, and 69 high. All sections are the very desirable Grade 299(quarter ... moresawn/tiger oak with the medium finish) Has the very desirable ogee(curved) top and bottom. All sections are size D-10 1/4. Bookcase is ALL ORIGINAL. Original finish. Original wavy glass, original knobs on the doors. Bookcase is ALL COMPLETE. All labels are present and intact. All glass is present(no cracks or breaks) All felt along the tops of the doors is complete and intact. All scissors mechanisms are present. All acid-etched side bands are correct and present. I rescued over 20 sections from a storage room of an old Chicago school library, and these 6 sections were in the best condition. Condition of the sections is way above average for their age. After 100 years the finish on these cases has usually"alligatored" Not here. Although there are the usual scratches and chips in the finish, which is to be expected(there is a rub of white paint on the right side of one section shown in the photos) the outside finish is overall extremely smooth with a nice gloss. The very top has the most wear and scratches as the librarians slid and stacked items on top of the cases. There is also the reside from 2 old pieces of cellophane tape on the front of the top. I can find no delamination of the back panels, nor any bubbling of the veneer on the very top. Being in a library for so many years has preserved them nicely. Overall size of the bookcase is 84" tall x 34" wide x 12" deep. If you need more photos. Or have additional questions, please email me. Because I don't trust my packing skills on something of this size and value. I am offering this bookcase as a local pick up. The dimensions of each of the five adjustable, removable, shelves are 40” in length by 11” in depth. Elegant and lovely details are found on this fabulous Victorian Empire Period Flame Mahogany Bookcase with is constructed of Flame Mahogany and Mahogany Veneers over Southern Yellow Pine secondary wood. Moreover, the material, construction, and design details on this piece are very much orchestrated in the school of Thomas Day. The gorgeous removable ... moretop crown is graced with luscious flame mahogany along with undulating foliate scroll carved appliques. This gorgeous crown sits upon lovely crown moulding that is further embellished with beautiful double ribbon moulding. The beauty continues in the design detail of the bookcase body. The front sides of the body of this quality bookcase are adorned beautiful ribbon moulding orchestrated in a Steeple top configuration to perfectly accent the lovely doors. The folding bookcase is a medium-to-dark stained oak stand. At each end is an inset carved circle with a stylized design inside. The design has been stained a deep russet with a mustard and off-orange stylized design. This appears to have been hand created. As one end appears a little'brighter' in color than the other. These ends are attached to a long, rectangular frame, with carved'finials' on each corner. The two ends fold down flat, created by a screw mechanism found next to the outside finial. The tabletop bookcase is in excellent condition ... morefor its age, with a single chip of the wood by one of the inset designs. There is a smattering of light scratches on the bottom, which I believe would polish right out. I didn't notice until taking pictures that there is the number'1543' hand-written on the bottom. This is a beautiful, possibly hand created book stand, and reflects design elements from both the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau eras. A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, plain oak two glass door bookcase, with steam pressed scroll designs. There is a beveled glass mirror on the back crest, with two nicknack shelves spindle supported. There are four original oak adjustable shelves, one with plate groove. Doors include the original brass pull and lock, no key. The left glass door panel is original wavy, the right panel is new glass. Bookcase measures 6'4" 68" tall by 13-1/4" deep, the shelves 10-3/4" deep, by 3' 36" wide. Excellent condition: oak boards without chips or cracks, unworn original finish. Mirror has some backing cloudiness, all glass without damage.

A very nice antique. Circa 1840's, Empire mahogany stepback bookcase. Solid mahogany doors and sides. Two piece construction. The cornice has flame mahogany veneers. There are two glass pane doors, with ornamental Gothic arch tops, each door with eight glass panes. Six mahogany stained maple adjustable shelves and back boards. The drawer base has flame mahogany veneers on drawer, original mahogany knobs. The furniture measures 7'6" 89-1/2" tall by 4' 48" wide by 18" deep, the shelves 11" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish, doors with lock, no key. Six panes on one door are new glass replacements, the rest old wavy glass. Small veneer chip top front edge of drawer case. Drawer retains the lock.

Constructed out of solid Mahogany from an unknown time and location. Originally purchased as a gift to my Grandmother from her Husband. My Grandfather, many, many years ago. This piece of furniture is in excellent condition and truly is a wonderful looking piece. A simple yet elegant design that easily coordinates well with many different décor styles. Display shelving is showcased by three beautiful glass front cabinets with their original curved glass windows and a gold gilding decorative trim. Glass is in excellent condition. No chips. Cracks or sections of gilding missing. There are a total of three shelves within the display window. Lower portion has pull-out secretary desk that has a working lock and key. This wonderful 19th century bookcase appears to have its old original finish that is rich and inviting with wonderful aged patina. Beautiful carvings and rosettes with raised panels of burl walnut adorn this wonderful piece. All the locks are intact on this piece but the tasseled key provided just aids in opening the doors. Inside are a total of six adjustable shelves.
