The large Secretary Desk Bookcase has a half round mirror on the left top side over the desk area and the right top side has a double brass finial and rod gallery over the bookcase area. Everything is completely original except for the mirror which was broken has been replaced. There is a small wood professional repair to the bottom left corner of the drop front lid but that is minor and matches the grain and not noticeable. It has been completely refinished to restore its original Golden Oak finish and ready for your beautiful home. Notice the beautiful quartered sawed oak grain through out the piece and the deep heavy ornate carvings and bead work. What a great piece of furniture. It doesn't get any better than this! There are three shelves in the bookcase that are adjustable. There is one shelf below in the lower double door compartment that locks underneath the desk. Each drawer and door has a skeleton key lock with two keys included. Inside the desk is a beautiful pigeon hole interior and one small drawer with a brass knob. The piece is complete with an open shelf above the drop down desk. The piece is 50" wide. 14" deep, and 80 1/4" or 6 ft. 8 1/4" tall. The drop down lid is 22" x 15 7/8" with the inside interior measuring 10 3/4" x 22 1/2" The upper open shelf space is 12" x 22" The arched bookcase door is 58 3/4" high x 21 3/4" wide, and the bottom double door compartment is 22" x 15 3/4" A must for the American Oak collector's Side By Side Secretary Bookcase collection. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. Someone as since added and adjustable shelved interior. Two interior drawers, and removed the wooden panels on the doors and replaced them with chicken wire. The result is a very nice, French country bookcase that would look great in any room! The four adjustable shelves inside this antique bookcase have a 14.25″ depth. They adjust ... morevia an alligator bracket system giving you plenty of options for space between each shelf. At the bottom of the interior are two drawers for added storage. These drawers are made with hand cut dovetails and work very well. The front doors lock with an included key. The lock is what is called a“double throw” lock. That means you must turn the key twice in order to lock/unlock the doors. We have also found that the door locks best if you gently push the bottom of the door in while turning the key. There are a few very nice carvings to be found on this bookcase. First. The front legs have a floral carving to them which is quite attractive, but simple. The cornice is also adorned with carvings of flora that form almost a crest or medallion at the top. Walnut is the wood used to create this French bookcase. It is a wonderful. Light color that will compliment any surrounding. This bookcase has worn well over the years and today remains in good condition. The bottom of the doors have a few minor chips to them. This is a stunning probably early to mid 19th century Chippendale style solid mahogany cabinet. It consists of two pieces. The top has two large doors with 20 individual panes of glass which are individually glazed and create with the unusual framing a very interesting pattern. A few of the panes have been replaced. A few parts of the framing around glass have also been replaced/repaired. The doors will lock with the original lockset and key. It may be originally of UK origin and possibly Irish. I have not nailed down where it was built but it came from a prominent Charleston estate. The base has two hand dovetailed and very roomy drawers.and the secondary wood is pine. There is a cool carved and shaped skirt in front and on the sides and the legs are cabriole which end in carved ball and claw feet.which are fabulous and detailed. The drawer ... morehardware is new. Newport Cottages" Girls bedroom furniture for sale. The twin bed(photos 1-4) dresser(photos 5-9) and the bookshelf(photos 10-12) This furniture was purchased in Montclair. New Jersey and is all in very decent, solid shape. It is available for pick up only in Chicago, Illinois. The color is cream and the dresser has faux crystal knobs. The dresser has some scuffs on the top surface and on the front, we used some touch up paint on the top. The dresser is 54" wide(right to left) x 20" deep x 32" high. The bed measures around 81" long and 42" wide. There is a small paint chip on the bottom of the bed. See photo 2. The dimensions of the bookshelf are: 30.5" wide and 55" tall. There are some scuffs inside the shelves of the bookcase, photo 12 shows the top surface of the bookshelf. Antique Sideboard Cabinet Hutch Bookcase
A truly unique piece of furniture craftsmanship. It's a simple but elegant design with superb attention to detail. It is a one piece unit standing about 79 inches tall. About 45 inches wide, and it is heavy. Let me state at this point that I am not an expert and my observations and descriptions are intended to help a more knowledgeable person make a decision whether more interest is warranted or not. First of all the overall construction as with most furniture of this vintage is amazing. The fit and finish of the separate components validates the care and skill employed by the craftsman. The side pockets are both lined in a semi-circular fashion with what appears to be solid wood. These are topped off by what appears to be hand carved hemispherical shaped alcoves. The upper middle section is enclosed behind a finely detailed wood grillework ... moredoor with glass insert. Note the medallions incorporated with the grill. There are two shelves with indentations for china display at back. The three bottom components are each enclosed with a one piece door. The general composition appears to be a mahogany wood veneer over solid wood. I'm guessing at the age based on the materials. Style, and manner of assembly. There appear to be tiny screws holding the backing in place as opposed to the more common practice of using brads or nails. I believe it to be late 1800's or early 1900's. As you may have noticed in the photos. There are some area's which need repair. A piece of the veneer has been lost from the bottom, one shelf has gone missing from the lower center component. It also has some damage to one of the support runners for the shelf. One of the scrolls at the top is weak. There are scratches and chips in the veneer. I recommend a personal inspection before bidding. This will be listed for local pickup only. Any reasonable offer will be given consideration. See companion piece in my listings for Hutch Bookcase. It consists of separate upper and lower cases with a fold over slanted writing surface with the following features& characteristics: The outstanding mahogany finish with crotch mahogany veneer is in excellent condition. Viewed from front or sides. The entire piece has a stunning, rich and warm patina. The upper bookcase and desk features a handsome projecting molded crown/cornice with a flat top. The double glazed panel bookcase doors feature individually paned window glass. All but two of these beautiful old wavy glass panes are original. The two(which were cracked) have been replaced with wavy ... moreold glass of the same period. Three wood shelves. Original to the piece, are fitted inside the bookcase. These. Plus the bottom of the book cabinet provide four display and storage surfaces for books and collectibles. Each of the 3 shelves is 39.25” wide and approximately 7.25” deep. There are two shallow. Aligned drawers immediately beneath the bookcase and above the desk surface. Please note the photo attached showing their hand cut dovetailed joints. The original brass knobs are sized in proportion with the drawers and match the larger version of the same on the lower case drawers. Immediately beneath the two drawers. The surface unfolds to reveal a slanted, hinged fall-front writing surface. Two pull-out. Brass-ringed narrow lopers(wood supports) slide out to secure the desk top when open. The surface of the desk is original and has crackled with age. The lower case features a projecting long drawer above two recessed drawers. Beautiful Mahogany Governor Winthrop Desk with Bookcase Hutch
This M ahogany Winthrop Desk with Bookcase Hutch is beautiful despite over one hundred years of history with the original family. T here are areas that have evidence of this history. But this just adds to the charm, and most buyers prefer not to eliminate the original patina. The classic elements of a Governor Winthrop desk are seen in the top broken arch pediment with a flame finale. The serpentine base, the drop front which reveals the secretary units and hidden compartments, and the ball and claw feet front and rear. The muntins behind the glass have had to be removed, and were replaced with an etched-look Victorian floral design. The desk still retains the original brass Chippendale hardware.

Base For Globe Wernicke Sectional Stacking Barrister Metal Bookcase Industrial
You are buying the 4 legged base ONLY for the sectional bookcase you see in the pictures. I repeat-just the base. The top cap and 4 sections are listed in other sales. The base is 10" tall and 33" wide by 13" deep. It fits under a bookcase that has an indented top of 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" deep. It does have some rust but is solid and needs cleaned and paint. The rest of the description describes the rest of the bookcase which you might need to see if this fits yours.These never had doors and are slightly taller than the ones that you find with doors. Size is just over 33" wide by 13" deep by 17 1/8" tall to the very top. The section that shows when stacked is 16 7/8" tall. The very top of the cabinet is a little smaller so that the base of the next section can lock into it. The smaller section ... moreat the very top is 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" deep. I have 4 of these cabinets that make up the larger stack. You are buying one with the chance to buy additional if you are the first buyer. If you buy more than one you need to buy one-pay for it-then buy the next-pay-and so on. I cannot combine shipping and ebay will combine it by weight and their combined invoice will be wrong. As you see the total structure it stands 80" counting the top cap and bottom base. There is lots of wear and scratching/loss to the paint and they could use cleaned up better.Some have writing and old tape on them. One of the sections has 2 holes drilled in the right side that you can see in a picture. The one picture shows the top inside of the cabinet. The only piece that is signed is the top cap. There is rust on the base but not much rust on anything else. The cabinets weigh 32 lbs each before packing and will incur even more dimensional weight by the shippers due to their size.
