The images mirror each other so this ... moreis a true pair and the lamps feature two different views. On one side is a striped awning, draped pavilion with tiled floor. It's a party with elegantly dressed and coifed Lords and Ladies conversing while servants offer refreshment. On the opposing side is a lovely longtailed songbird in a rose thicket surrounded by butterflies. Both scenes are topped by raised golden lizards with long tails. The handles are green opposing or"kissing kitties" The"walls" dividing the scenes feature 2 pairs of scaled google eyed coy fish and abundant flora decoration. The surface of the lamps has a wonderful slightly raised texture where the paints were applied. The photos do not do proper justice to these fabulous lamps! They are large. Measuring 16 1/2" to the top of the vase and 9" wide. The mounts are antique brass and the bases are footed chinese wood stands in dark brown. I have just replaced sockets in both lamps and they function beautifully. The shades shown are not included in this auction but if you want them, I will include them in a separate box for an additional $100.00 plus shipping. In my opinion, these lamps really should have large custom made tall drum shades. This pair was purchased from a wealthy estate in South Beach about 10 years ago and are VERY FINE. I do not know the exact age and I am not going to take them apart to see the markings on the bottom of the vases. Ebay limits the number of photos to 12. Antique Staffordshire Porcelain Trinket Box Conta Boehme #3638 Three Dogs
Mother's estate collection item# 102. From the 19th century. These were commonly referred to as Staffordshire trinket boxes. This was made by Conta Boehme and is marked number 3638 with the Conta Boehme shield under the top. There is a blue P mark on the bottom of the base for the city of Poessneck, Germany where these boxes were made by Conte Boehme. The three dogs in graduated sizes on the top have very good color and detail. Please refer to photos. There are two birds on each corner of the base. Mirror has age speckles. The base has two small chips inside the rim and there is a crack on the right side. Height is 4 5/8 inches. International buyers must ask for shipping quote before buying.

20 This offering is for a gorgeous flow blue Watteau pattern serving bowl. Made by Doulton of Burslem, England. This originally would have had a cover, but unlike other pieces, this displays beautifully without one. We love the small flared foot with additional border decoration and incised tab handles on this piece. The Watteau pattern is highly collected and it features a musical picnic interlude with man& woman and dog out nature(but not so far that an urn on a pedestal can't be within reach) The wide and gently flared rim has a beautiful border filled with scrolled and lattice work cartouches and floral swags that drape into the curve of the bowl. The rim is deep blue. As with nice flow blue, the white isn't truly white, but has a hint of a cool blue hue. On the back, you can see the flow very clearly into the porcelain. ORIGINAL ANTIQUE 1906 HAND TURNED VAN BRIGGLE PITCHER; ONE OF A KIND!
Here is an extremely rare. One of a kind, small pitcher from less than two years after Artus Van Briggle died. In my mind's eye I can see Anna writing the fine inscriptions on the base of this item, while worrying about the future of the Pottery and aching over the loss of her brilliant husband. Artus and Anna took the VB pottery from wish to world renowned in just 5 years, before the ravages of tuberculosis killed Artus. This is die-stamped#432 which usually was the design number, with a fine grained beige colored clay mix likely mined from local Colorado clays. Also, the bottom is incised with the VB logo(conjoined AA in a box) and the words, VAN BRIggLE" in a unique configuration with the"V" looking like a check mark, and the"A" dropped somewhat below the check mark, as if on a 1/2 line below the rest of the ... morewriting. This is a unique marking used by only one artist, as several other similar inscriptions are visible in Sasicki and Fania's volume on VB, p. 18. There is also a black ink"X" likely added after firing. This pitcher is hand thrown, with the finger grooves clearly evident inside. The square handle is smoothly attached, and is just a tiny bit off center at the bottom where it joins the base, adding to the proof of hand assembly. This art piece is sprayed with Artus' unique finish discovery, the buttery, velvet smooth"Ming Pottery" finish in a light blue, and then oversprayed with a frothy yellow spray, creating a fascinating transition from blue to yellow up the art piece. Near the top the yellow overspray has an"oatmeal" appearance. This crackle finish to the overcoat is common only on the very earliest VB items. Collectors often refer to this crackle finish as"oatmeal" whipped" or"curdled" The interior of the pitcher is smoothly coated with clear high gloss glaze and the overglaze extends about 1/2 inch into the mouth. Antique/Vtg. Used Black Western Saddle (15"-15 1/2") Nice Tooling Trail Pleasure
This is an attractive older black leather western saddle. There are no maker's marks on it that I can find. But it is well made. The lower skirt itself consists of two layers of leather sewn together and this does not include the layer of hide of the sheepskin, which is real and is a replacement. The seat area measures 15" to 15 1/2" and I have shown how I measured it in the 3rd picture. The total length of the saddle is 25 1/2" and it weighs 29 lbs. The saddle has had some recent additions and repairs- there are rather new latigo tie strings on the saddle and the ones on the back of the saddle are quite long. The real sheepskin looks like a fairly recent addition and I believe that it has been glued onto the saddle. Some of the outer edges of the sheepskin are not glued right to the edges of the skirt. But the sheepskin ... moreis still firmly attached. If you look at the 5th picture you can see an area on the front of the saddle where the sheepskin is not glued right to the edge of the skirt. I believe that they chose to glue the sheepskin on because the skirt is quite thick as it is double layered and the stitching on the skirt is really tight. I don't believe that the sheepskin could have been properly stitched on with-out interfering with the nice stitching of the skirt. When the saddle was made I believe that the original sheepskin had been sewn onto the skirt's bottom layer of leather first before that bottom layer was then sewn onto the top layer of the skirt. The front and back billet straps for the cinches/girths are nylon and seem relatively new. The back cinch is nylon as well and is marked Weaver. There is no front girth with this saddle. There has been a repair made to the end of one of the stirrup leathers right at the buckle. A strip of leather has been riveted over where the leather has split where it bends around the buckle and in pictures#10- 12 I have shown 3 pictures of this repair. Old used pack saddle i believe was used by the United States Forest Service A long time ago. I was told by old timer`s in the late 1800`s but i`m not sure. It does look quite old. It has U.S.F.S. stamped into the wooden saddle. The leather could use cleaning and the bags. One of the bags has a 5" hole in the bottom. The bottom strap has one cord that is unraveling. Late 1800's Beautiful Antique Tapestry Seat Ladies Side Saddle Rare !
I have decided to part with my side saddles. I have a collection of 3. This saddle has a beautiful tapestry seat with rose design with leather trim. I cleaned it and took new pictures.I am selling it as is. It will need to be restuffed. It is stuffed with horsehair and there is one large hole in the canvas where the horsehair is. I don't consider that a big problem because the underneath will have to be redone.It needs another girth and billets? added. It would not take a lot, in my opinion, to make it usable. It need oiling now that it is clean. The rest is brown leather. The total lenth is 23 1/2 inches. The width is 15 inches. The gullet is 6 inches. I have owned it myself for about 20 years. I am not a saddle expert. It may need more than I think. It is beautiful and rare. VINTAGE ANTIQUE 15" N PORTER WESTERN COWBOY SADDLE & MATCHING BREASTPLATE 1930s?
Antique vintage N. Porter western cowboy saddle made in Phoenix AZ. Can be used as a solid functional working ranch saddle or as an historical display piece. We bought this for $1500 at an antique store in Cheyenne WY in 1996. We were told it was probably made in the 1930s. But I don't know a thing about antique saddles and cannot guarantee the authenticity of that statement. Seat is 15" All the leather is beautifully hand tooled everywhere. Initials"WCC" are engraved on the back of the cantle. Leather is in very good condition and could use a good oiling. Stitching is excellent and everything is solid. Some minor cosmetic cracks here and there. Fittings are solid and still have aged patina. Sheepskin under the saddle is in pretty good shape with a few worn areas. Sheepskin under the breastplate is pretty well worn off. ... moreStirrups have some worn areas. Girth has been replaced and is like new. Hubby used it as a trail saddle on a paint/TB mix. He was a cowboy in the 50's and said it was the most comfortable saddle he ever rode. He used it until 8 years ago and then put into storage.
