Here is an absolutely gorgeous late 19th century Scottish mahogany sideboard with shield back decorative mantle and lovely doors. Top surface and side panels. This wonderful circa 1870-1880's Victorian buffet has ample storage with it's three large drawers and open cabinet space below, including fittings for several additional drawers in the far left cabinet as shown. Recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland this terrific oversize mahogany cabinet is a real find, particularly in such nice original condition. This sideboard stands 69 inches wide by 26 1/2 inches front to back. Measuring 50 inches tall to the top of the removable mantle with carved shield back wood decorative and with a work surface height of 38 3/4 inches tall. The two large outer drawers are each 16 1/2 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches front to back by ... more2 inches deep while the center drawer is 27 inches wide by 19 1/2 inches front to back by 2 inches deep. The two outer lower cabinet offer space behind the lovely doors 17 1/4 inches wide by 26 inches tall. On the far left there are two shelves within their fittings, each 16 1/2 wide by 19 1/2 inches front to back by 3 1/2 inches deep, with about 15 inches tall by 20 inches front to back open space below. On the right side, this space is simply divided in two by one fixed shelf that creates space 14 1/4 inch wide by 20 inches front to back with 11 inches clearance above the shelf and 14 1/2 inches clearance below the shelf above the base of the cabinet. The interior of the large central cabinet with it's lovely paneled back is 28 inches wide by 18 inches front to back and also 26 inches tall, with one removable shelf which can be used to divide the cabinet space or not. Dining table with pop-up leaf(71 1/2 x 39 1/2) 6 chairs, and china hutch- all in pristine condition for age except for a small chip on sideboard that is barely noticeable! The finish is excellent on shimmering mahogany. A hidden 12" wide leaf opens like a"butterfly" to extend this American made furniture. Has sleek lines, waterfall" design and inlaid banding. Bakelite pulls are original, drawers have dovetailed solid oak sides. Beveled and reverse etched, the removable mirror is beautiful and adds a touch of elegance. Seat coverings are excellent condition. Mother of pearl design on drawer pulls, beautifully carved detailed trim. So worth the price! Antique Walnut Wood & Beveled Mirror For Buffet Dresser Mantle Sideboard
Very nice vintage or antique mirror that looks as though it came from a buffet. Sideboard cupboard, or a mantle. This is a very heavy item. The wood frame is a dark wood and looks like walnut but could be oak. The top of the mirror comes to a swirled point and then into a square. The back is put together with nails and wavy staples. There was new picture wire hanger that was added to the mirror when I purchased it but I removed it. that is why there are two holes on each side. There are no markings or numbers on the mirror. Measures 27-1/4"L x 17"H x 3/4" thick. The mirror is beveled around the edges and does have dark silvery spots in places. This is an absolutely magnificent painted antique Victorian mirror backed sideboard. This amazing piece of furniture dates from around the 1890's and is made from solid Walnut. So is extremely heavy. It's an incredibly well made piece of period furniture and has masses of storage making it really useful. It consists of 5 drawers and four cupboards as illustrated in the pictures. Some of the drawers are lined with baize and some aren't. There is a large cupboard on either side that flank two smaller cupboard doors in the middle. Absolutely gorgeous antique French? Shabby chic, country sideboard or buffet cabinet made of oak. A real gem& stunning. There is one large drawer with 2 knobs, which has a removable inset to divide the drawer into 2 sections. There appear to have been one or two further insets which are no longer there. The cupboard has 2 shelves.I have painted the exterior(excluding back) and the interior of the doors in 3 coats of Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint& then tastefully distressed it to highlight the beautiful carvings& to give it a shabby chic look. It has then been given a good coat of Annie Sloan clear wax to preserve it for many years to come.I have left the back in it's original condition(please see pictures to see raised splits which do not affect the solid craftsmanship) to maintain the history of the item. The top of the sideboard has opened up a little( see photo) due to shrinkage commensurate with a piece of furniture of this age but does not affect its function. Here is an absolutely fabulous early to mid-19th century heavy carved oak sideboard with hutch top in the tradition of a Welsh dresser with beautiful dragon motif carvings on the doors. A lovely form, hand dovetailed drawers and detailed carving on all edges and trim including dentition on three sides around the top. It has small cabinets behind the ornately carved dragon doors in the hutch section as well as display shelves, and has drawers across the top with more open cabinet space below in the base section, which is where you see the traditionally older construction front to back planking across the bottom. Circa 1960 Yew wood Locking doors with one key Repaired foot Darker circles to top Light surface scratches and dings Sturdy. Good overall condition, Yew wood is an indigenous wood to England. Where this buffet or console was made making full use of the beautiful grain and color that yew wood has. This antique style console is the perfect size for a variety of uses including as a dining room piece or to go under a TV and house TV peripherals. With three drawers and three locking cabinets, there is plenty of storage space in this yew ... morewood buffet. Each cabinet door houses one shelf that has three different height adjustments. The piece sits up on bracket feet, which makes it appear less blocky and more airy. We figure it was made around 1960 or so. You will notice from the pictures that there are two circles of darker color on the top. This is probably where two lamps or large hurricanes sat and kept the light from hitting the top of the sideboard in those areas. This meant that the wood underneath did not patinate like the rest of the wood. The front left bracket foot has been broken and repaired. The repair is strong but visible. There are also very light surface scratches to the top. They are hard to see unless you have the right kind of light which is why we took a picture of the top with a glare on it to highlight those marks. There are a few dings around the mouldings as well. But overall this is a very sturdy and good condition piece of yew wood furniture that will serve any home or office well for years to come! The servery top has a marble slab insert, in brown, cream and grey colourway, and a small raised shelf on beautifully carved and turned supports. RARE Antique English Wedgwood Jasperware SIDEBOARD
This is an antique English Japaned black sideboard featuring a large Wedgwood jasperware plaque. I think that the wood is walnut. This features a center cupboard with a display case on either side. This has a great yet somewhat ambiguous style which borrows influence from the aesthetic movement. Neoclassical design, and even some degree of Eastlake influence. It measures 42 1/2" tall, 15" deep, 68" long with the plaque measuring 7" tall and 5" wide. For the most part it's in pretty good condition. It does have a few cracks in the wood, most notably on the side near the foot and on the top near the side edge. It is missing about 25-35% of the beading trim is missing. There is some on the inside of the cabinet. It may be easier to have it recast instead of finding new, but definitely worth restoring this and every ... moreother aspect of this cabinet. I'm told that the blue velvet lining is the original, but I can't verify it. Someone has mounted lights over the cases on the inside, they really aren't a very good edition. Other than that I think some small modifications have been made to this piece; the tempered glass shelves seem to be new and somone put a thin rubber stop on the inside of the doors to protect it, the key(s) are missing. There is a y-shaped very fine hairline crack of the plaque. It's so fine that it really is too hard to get a picture of it. We tried to show condition with taking so many pictures. If you have any specific questions please ask them before bidding. Buyer will be responsible for arranging shipping or pick-up. We will not crate this piece and will not take this piece to a shipper.
