Mid 19th.c. oak North Wales dresser base. Three drawers across the top above two cupboard doors with a central bank of working drawers. Typical of the type produced on the island of Anglesey c.1850. The breakfront design, turned quarter columns, inlaid diamond escutcheons and shaped frieze by the feet are all original vernacular details. Antique French Breton walnut kitchen cupboard dresser A beautiful antique Breton dresser in dark walnut. Circa 1860. As you can see this is profusely carved piece with flower and leaf detailing and lots of turned spindles. This is a two piece dresser with two cupboard doors to the base with two drawers above. The upper section is a double door food cupboard with single shelf to the interior. The pierced sections have been later backed with yellow fabric to provide a pleasing contrast- we can remove this if preferred. A stunning piece providing useful storage in any room. Condition: I would describe this as being in good order for its age with minor marks. One turned acorn is missing. The key does not work. There is minor evidence of long dead woodworm as one would expect in French furniture of this age- this in no way affects the stability ... moreof this piece. Dimensions as follows: height 195cms. Art deco charles rennie mackintosh inspired welsh dresser. Well after much pondering we have decided to sell our family dresser. It was bought by my father in the late 1960's from auction and has been in our family ever since. For the last 10 years it has been in storage and we have now awaken it from its slumber. Trust me, if we could fit it into our house or our relations house it would not being sold, it is just too large for Mr Average's house, which of course makes it much more exclusive. These were in big demand in the 1960's and 1970's but then wained but now there is a resurgence for those that have the space to display them as they should be displayed. OK the bad points(not many! One of the doors does not close due to being stored on a slight slope, this is easily fixed by wedging the body over time or sanding down ... morethe edge of the door(a few millimeters is all that is required) One door is locked and the key is missing but its in our house somewhere and was taken down with the dresser happy to send it on once we find it(bizzare- we have this since the 60's and in the last furlong we loose the key! thats about it everything else looks ok apart from the od scratch here and there and some wood split of a hairline nature. The original mirror fixing screws are still present and come with the mirror. The mirror part is detached for the pictures. Which are not great as it was difficult to photograph in our garage(Steve McQueen is not for sale neither is the handsome chap reflected in the mirror! It is still very dusty but will come up fantastic with some proper cleaning and wood cleaning treatment. thats about it really. Its a sad day for me and short of buying a bigger house there is no way of keeping it. The body is 5 feet long x 2 feet deep x 3 feet 4 inches high. The mirror part is 5 feet long. 8 inches deep and 3 feet 4 inches high. This makes it 6 feet 8 inches high when assembled. Ansonia Dresser Desk clock Porcelain Case 6" x 6" antique late 1800
YOU ARE BIDDING ON: an Ansonia Porcelain Dresser or Desk clock probably from the late 1800s. The case is approximately 6" x 6" x 2.5" CASE is generally in very good condition. I believe it says"Made in Germany" on the stamp printed on the back. The case has the look of a piece that would have been imported from Germany but I cannot verify this. On the back of the case there are numbers 2547 with the letters OK stamped into the case. Inside the case there are 3454 written and fired into the case. On the back there is a small very old paper stamp that I cannot read. There is the usual crazing expected on the porcelain of this age. On the front beginning at the center of the hole for the movement to the right front foot on the case there is a hairline crack. Near the foot of the case at the right foot there is a small ... more1/8" chip that I needed to look carefully to even find. I have tried to show this in the images so please view them. MOVEMENT is wound tight and seems to want to run. But will not continue. MOVEMENT MUST BE CONSIDERED NOT WORKING AND IN NEED OF REPAIR AND/OR CLEANING. DIAL is paper. With the following printed"Manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Co New York United States of America" There is also a lightly printed stamp in center of dial that says"Trade Mark" with an" A. Antique Mid 1800s English Queen Anne Domed Wardrobe Gentlemen's Dresser Chest of Drawers Mirrored Vanity and Chair King Size Bed Headboard& Night Stand This is a beautiful and unique set of Queen Anne style English furniture that would be a great addition to your home. This set has a total of 10 amazing bedroom pieces. All of these pieces dates to between 1840 to 1860. They are done in a oyster shell veneer finish. Oyster shell veneering was used in Europe for over two hundred years. It had originated in Holland in the late 17th century. Antique 5 Drawer Dresser from the French& Heald Company of New Hampshire. Master Made by James McCreery& Company in New York. Overall height of the unit is 48 1/2" 19" Deep and 34" Wide. The 3 lower drawers are 14 1/2" deep. 6 1/2" high and 31 1/2" wide. Top 2 drawers are the same height and depth but measure 29" wide. Drawer pull hardware is in excellent condition. All drawers are dove tail joints. The top of the dresser has a stain and a few markings. One small broken piece on the trim on the back right hand side. As seen in the pics, which is tough to notice. The bottom of the dresser has markings from being moved around but no major defects. I believe it is Maple but I am not 100% sure. Will deliver locally for a small fee. The embroidery needlework is at each end of the table runner and has an art nouveau flower and flourish design. The table runner is further embellished with a metallic trim around the outer edges. The table runner is fully lined. The Edwardian art nouveau table runner probably dates to the early 1900's. Table Runner Measurements: 60" x 19" Table Runner condition: The table runner is in good pre-owned condition with some small flaws. First imperfection- Close to the center of the table runner. The trim has come loose from the edge in 3 spots and just needs to be tacked down with a needle and thread. Specifically. Antique armoire dresser and vanity with bench and mirror. This bedroom set was originally purchased in northern New York. St. Lawrence County where it was kept for over 60 years. It has been stored at my home in Florida for about 10 years. The condition is very good considering the age of the pieces. There is some surface damage to both pieces. The large mirror needs to have the glass replaced and the caning on the bench is broken in one small area. Otherwise, all of the wood is intact. Other photos are available if requested. Fabulous Victorian barbola dresser box or letter box in gorgeous shabby green with pink roses on the lid and gold highlights. Old green felt interior and red felt on the bottom. Chippy paint all over the bottom of the box. But all the relief work is still perfect. You can see the dust of age in the crevices. If someone wanted to repaint the sides, it would look like new except for the one corner which has a small amount of damage. The felt at the corner is hanging down a bit so it looks worse than it really is. If you wanted to reglue that bit, it wouldn't appear as noticeable, but I wanted to show everything. The top is made of wood and the whole box is rather heavy, about 4 lbs. The box measures approx 7 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 3 1/2" Overall, it is a stunning example of barbola. From the design, style, construction and patina I would guess the rest dates from 1840-1890. I had some Brass fire tools and a companion set all designed by The famous Victorian designer Dr. Christopher Dresser. The ends had beehive finials and orbs similar in design to the tops of this fire-dog tool rest and the firedog rest set the tools off nicely in the hearth. This fire dog rest has no makers marks or foundry marks so I do not know the actual maker or the precise date! Antique Vintage Brass Ship or Railroad Lantern Dresser Railway Lamp & Signal Co
This stunning old lantern belonged to my parents. And has been in my family for as long as I can remember. I do not know the exact age or the original function. The high level of craftsmanship in this lantern is amazing. It appears to be of solid brass with a wooden handle attached at the top. The only place that a magnet will stick to the metal is on the fitting that holds the wick. There are two rectangular glass windows. The hinged door is opened by pulling up on a slide loop. There are two round silver metal reflectors on the inside walls of the lantern. The footed base has a bolt and nut for attaching the lantern to a surface. The Round knob that adjusts the wick is marked Dressel and the number 0. I believe that this stands for the Dressel Lamp Works of Arlington New Jersey. A very pretty pair of antique Victorian dresser boxes. The boxes have unusual wood lids each of which is adorned with a sterling silver medallion with a Floral motif. They are both marked"STERLING" The bottoms are glass with a paneled design. Each jar measures 1 3/4" in diameter x 1 3/8" high. Both jars are in very good overall condition. The only thing to note are a few tiny nicks on the inside edge of one of the jars. The Victorian jars would be lovely on a vanity or dressing table, they are very pretty. She was in her mid 60's and her grandfather had built it. Great solid heavy dresser. Measures 44" x 21" x 34" tall. Drawers slide well. Metal key holes missing from a couple drawers but can easily be replaced. No scratches, mars, chips, etc. in the wood.
