Stunning Antique English Parquetry Inlaid Writing Slope / Lap Desk c.1860
The exquisite work on this Victorian writing box is quite outstanding. Intricate quality work and highly decorative. The box is finished in Walnut with exotic woods used to create a plethora of exciting designs on all sides of the box, a true sign of quality to have this fine work all around. The box does not have a key, the fitted interior would be damaged if the lock was removed. Once opened, you can see that all of the internal brass fittings have been professionally re-polished to gleam and a new writing skiver has been fitted with gold embossing. There is a cut crystal inkwell with a lift off lid(a few rough spots around the interior neck, mentioned purely for accuracy) a removable pen tray and another little lidded compartment for pen nibs and the like. Antique Arts& Crafts. Art Nouveau Brass Overlay Slag Glass Desk Lamp. Fresh from a local Jersey Shore estate. Original untouched condition. The lamp is 14.5" tall. The Bryant socket is patent dated 1907 with a bakelite switch marked Perkins. Simple brass base with iron harp. Original green felt on iron weighted bottom. Brass shade with cut out Art Nouveau designs backed with original slag glass panels and brass bullet finial. The socket and switch appear to be in working order and the wiring and plug appear to be in good condition but you should probably have the lamp rewired to be on the safe side. The lamp was very dirty when I found it. I gave it a superficial cleaning but that is all. The brass looks like it would polish up nicely if you were so inclined. That is a decision I will leave to the buyer. SHI at cost. No Reserve.

Under drop front there is 1 pull out drawer& under that there is large door with 1 more shelf plus the bottom which totals 2 shelves. This Secretary stands 67" tall, measures 39" across the front and 14" deep from the front to the back. It's in very good vintage condition for it's age& will hold a great deal of items. But I have not found the correct key for the locks. I believe the Glass Door still has the original Glass. The Drop Down door for the desk is divided into 2 sections with a slight opening in between the top& bottom decorated with fancy wood applique designs. My Mother had this desk refinished in the 1960's which is why it's in such good looking condition today. It's been well cared for over the years. Small Antique Brass Scool Bell This is an unusually small size of a brass school bell. Probably used at a desk, rather than in a school yard. It measures 6" tall x 2 3/4" wide across the base. It has a nicely tiered black wooden handle with a brass tip on top and brass collar. There is a small crack in the collar where the handle meets the bell. But the handle will still be tight just by turning it, and holding the clapper inside at the same time. The brass has a wonderful dark patina which only comes with age. Gorgeous Antique Japanese Writing Desk From Pharmacy
This is an antique writing desk from Japan. The desk has panels on each side and on the back that refer to a pharmacy. Maybe the desk was made from a recycled pharmacy box. The desk has two front drawers and two side drawers. On the right to is a covered well that was used for writing supplies. The desk is old and it has an issue on the right side. Antique Breakfront China Cabinet Desk Excellent Condition
For your bid is an incredible breakfront. This breakfront was purchased by my grandparents in about 1950 at Marshall Field’s in Chicago Illinois. My grandfather was a well to do doctor and this piece was always one of the most cherished family heirlooms. The breakfront measures 67” wide by 15” deep by 81” tall. The piece comes in two parts as the top half lifts off. The top half has four doors that have glass that is curved like bubbles that leave each supports. There is a key for one of the center doors that is included. The lower half includes a desk that folds down and has several small storage compartments. The desk section is in excellent condition. This piece is 63+ years old and does show wear for its age. It has marks on the bottom from vacuum cleaners over the years. This piece is not perfect but is a very nice piece. We have not touched it, other than to polish it. It does have a few veneer chips missing, but it is in otherwise really nice condition. Back in the 1960s, someone removed the two drawers on the bottom, and put on a door and gutted it out to use the piece to house a stereo or to use as a bar. The top is crown molded with flame mahogany on the crown, the face, the doors, the drawers, the lid, and everywhere. It has a key for the two doors, and when it is opened there is a shelf on the interior. It has two dovetail drawers, and below that is a writing lid. You can see where the inkwell section is missing on the slide top. It has its original old green felt lining, and a recess molded drawer, then an open compartment in the base. Scrolled empire curl foot legs finish off one great period desk. The size is fantastic, only 40 inches wide, at the base it’s 19 inches deep, 34 inches high to the base, with an overall height of 67 inches tall.
