The desk comes with four raised panel dove tail drawers that retain all the original hardware. The center where the legs go have a reverse cove carving, which I have never seen in oak. It has a scallop bottom trim base, raised panels all the way around and a wide bevel edge on the solid tiger sawn oak top. The only negatives I see on the desk is that there is a little wear on the edge of the top from rubbing against something and there is a split going down the center of the top. We most likely could pull the top off and repair the top, which wouldn’t make a huge difference, but it is an expensive repair. The desk itself is high end quality.

I am unsure of the exact age of the desk. It is most likely a 1970's reproduction of an 18th Century Georgian Design. It has beautifully carved ball and claw feet, and chunky cabiole legs that are also carved at the knees. This desk has five (5) substantial drawers with the original brass bail pull handles, and five (5) faux drawer fronts on the back side also with brass bail pull handles. The drawers have dove tail joints. The desk was in front of a window for years, and therefore the finish on the back side is a bit faded.

for auction is a wonderful solid quartersawn oak roll top desk. this desk has no veneers and the quartersawn oak flake is as good as i have ever seen or owned. an old man. Long dead, who dealt in many many roll top desk told me that if you had a desk with a 5 digit inventory number that is was made by stickley and brandt. at any rate i would stake a good bit on his opinion. the stamped in inventory no. on this desk is 18173. regardless of who made this desk, it is top quality material and workmanship. the desk is 50 inches tall with a s waterfall top with a tambur that rolls and moves with great ease, no stopping, catching, jamming, etc. it rolls like butter. the other dimensions are, it is 50 inches wide and 32 inches deep. the desk top is 30 inches from the floor. it has the original key cover plate and strike plate on the desk top writing ... moresurface. the old lock has lost it's guts so i replaced the lock. anyway the top will lock if you choose to do so. it has a wonderful set of cubbies, complete with two pencil holders, i forgot to open for pictures and one drawer with a carved pull. i expect there may have been another drawer on the other side that has fell by the wayside somewhere and time in the last 120 years. the remainder of the cubby holes are as they should be. they were never designed for drawers and the openings are a good bit smaller than the ones that would accept a drawer. it has 4 drawers of wonderful construction on the left bank of the cabinet portion, most of which contain dividers. the right bank consists of three drawers, the bottom is a double drawer suited for file folders, it has a divider long ways down the center. i also forgot to open the drawers for pictures. i have used the 12 pictures ebay allows, but if anyone want pictures of the inside of the drawers or anything else i will be glad to send them to you. the drawers all have carved pulls in mint condition. underneath the desk top are four scotch and secure blocks which slide into a groove about 1/2 inch below the top part of the

Here for bid is a 19th century folding lap travel desk. I was told that this size of box was often used by sea captains saving room in there tight state rooms. Maybe just a theory not sure. I would consider this box desk in pretty good condition for its age and compared to others I have seen. However as you can see in the provided photos it is not perfect and has wear. Nicks, cracks and chips that one would expect to see in this old of a piece. It needs inkwell replacement so forth and so on. I have no key for this desk but they are easily found. Some of the brass or copper inlay has been tacked a few small pieces missing. This type of scowling inlay is very hard to find for they took a lot of skill and work to make I am sure. Overall this desk has a lot character and charm. The hinge is tight and closes correctly. There are several escutcheons ... morethat were with this desk which also leads to maritime. Very Nice Quality c1890 Silver Plated Desk Burner and Spill Holder. This I think this would have been used for heating the wax for seals. You would light the central burner and the two outer spill vases would contain a combination of wax sticks and tapers etc. The central burner would be filled with a paraffin type of liquid and then you would light the wick which would give off a continuous flame. I have up for sale a wonderful vintage original circa 1870s- 1880s large fancy cast iron base Hotel Tap Call Service Bell. It stands approx 5-3/4" to the top of the tapper. The bell is approx 3" diameter, the base 4" square,approx 4-3/4" diagonal. Rings with excellent tone! The base is extra fancy and large. It magnetizes so it must be cast iron. It is nickel plated but the plating is worn, beneath this appears to be another brass type plating. I do not quite understand this but this is how it appears to me. One of a kind. Very good condition woman's writing desk from Mexico, circa 1900. This one of a kind piece has no screws or glue, and fits like a puzzle! This desk was brought to the United States circa 1970 from Durango, Mexico by my Grandmother. She in turn received it from her piano teacher years before! The desk shows quite well, as it has only been used as a decorative piece since at least 1970. Please note, all pieces are present, although the drawer handle needs to be reattached.

Quite heavy for such a small thing. It is excellent quality and has a romantic vintage feel. They were consequently contracted by Tiffany to produce some items for them with this same finish. All the pieces are in very nice condition with little loss of gold. The blotter does have some stains on the front as is to be expected. For some reason the gold looks different in the pics than it does in person, which is much brighter. The front inlaid cartouche and escutcheon are both made from Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell. Once opened. The top fitted section reveals a pen tray a lidded compartment for additional pens, and other necessities, two small sloped compartments for pen nibs and clips and two(later) brass topped glass inkwells. Here is an absolutely gorgeous antique mahogany desk with lovely burl mahogany veneer and border design inlay. Circa 1940 and American made. This is a Governor Winthrop style slant front desk with drawers. The desk stands 43 inches tall and measures 38 inches wide by 21 inches deep, front to back. The writing surface itself is 36 inches wide by 21 inches, front to back and within the desk itself there are 16 small drawers and an additional cubby with lovely inlay door as shown in my photographs. CLOCK T he clock has 3 different hand designs and incased in bronze? solid brass. The face is a natural cream ivory? porcelain with black Roman numerals. You are bidding on this very rare ANTIQUE Desk/ Alarm Clock from the German manufacturer HALLER A.G. In the time Junghans was growing. Haller and Kienzle merged into one company uniting under the name Kienzle. This clock is from the first decade of the 1900's. It's is in an excellent functioning condition and it comes in solid metal! Having a windable movement which is running great. The alarm also works perfectly by means of a large bell on top of the clock. It is very clear and sounds like it left the shop yesterday. On top of the bell you find a carriage handle. The paper dial looks very good and there is a separate second hand and alarm hand. The scale on the dial showing the present time has Arabic numbers; the scales at the second and alarm hands are also in Arabic numbers. Special about the dial is that the time is also there ... morein"PM" 13, 14, 15 etc. Of course the HALLER mark and the name HALLER AG are on the dial. The front is made of thick glass and all hands come in black metal. The hands showing the present time were once glowing in the dark. The way they are shaped is special. The dial is oilfree! Here is a really nice desk set for your home or office Vintage Desk Lamp and Art Deco Tape Dispenser I found this great old lamp and tape dispenser in a yard sale and had to bring them back to life. Cleaning these items and giving them a new paint job was an act of love. I am not certain that these pictures do the colors justice. The base of the lamp and the upright arm are black. The lamp cover and tape dispenser are both fire engine red. All of the electrical parts. Cord and plug are new. The tape dispenser is cast iron and weighs in at just under 7 pounds. The lamp base and arm are also cast iron and the total weight for the lamp is just a bit under 4 pounds. Add some packaging and a box to this and we are looking at a shipping weight around 15 pounds.
