When fervor for antiques of the Louis XV taste were still at a remarkable high, this very attractive French Louis XV Bureau Plat was embellished with great effort. Featuring a solid mahogany top with a molded edge, the front of the bureau plat has a long hand dovetailed drawer for storage, opening to reveal a solid golden oak interior. The keyhole escutcheon is probably the finest bronze mount on the desk, a piece that prominently features the rocaille movement around the fully functioning key and lock. The apron is shapely, the front and back mirroring the flow of the top with a slight inversion in the middle. The cabriole legs are formed with very fine gate, the tapering form nearly perfect in proportion to the table, each surmounted with an intense rocaille Gilt bronze mount with the"C" form featured actively as it curls over the entire knee- a thin reed of gilt bronze continues to flow down the leg into the beautiful Gilt bronze sabot mounts with curling toes. This is a fully functional piece. Not just being a beautiful decorative art, the form being sturdy and strong throughout with a clean writing surface. For decorators passionate about the French Louis XV form, this is a wonderful find. Measurements: 39 1/2" wide x 23 7/8" deep x 29 1/4" high to top of desk; 24 1/8" high to underside of drawer(when sitting) Condition Report: Light dings and chips throughout. Including some loss to the corners of the drawer, a small"dent" in the top and scuffing to the top. Overall very attractive, the typical wear and use abrasions being somewhat limited and the overall desk being quite well preserved. This roll-cylinder secretary features a wonderful ... moreheavy carved crest, and dates from the 1880's. It comes with three original shelves that are adjustable behind the wavy glass doors. It has burl walnut panels coming down both sides, heavy crown molded top and a crest with big ball finials on each end. It has a commode base with three drawers and a door. The only thing I don’t like about this cylinder desk is that the finish is light, similar to a cherry, but it is walnut wood. It has the original heavy bold brass hardware, and is in really nice shape. The pull-out writing surface has green felt on it. When you open the double panel cylinder roll, it reveals a simplistic double drawer interior that is simplistic.

It was made by Best Buy Office Equipment. This is not the Best Buy stores of today, but was a small one store operation. I am unsure of the exact age of the desk but I would guess that it dates to the 1950's or possibly into the early 1960's. It has had a keyboard slide out platform added to it that came from Staples. I do not know when this was added, but it was most likely fairly recently. The height beneath this pull out where the chair would go is 24.5" high. The desk is 29.5" tall, 20" deep, 60" wide.

Is this a Victor? I have no idea. But it looks like one. But one thing for sure, it is nice looking. It is black on black. With sleek lines, all in a small desktop case that measures a mere 12 inches long, 7 i nches w ide. And 5 inches tall. And it' s portable! Weighing in at just over 8 pounds(including the paper) With no bothersome cords to haul around, you can take it with you everywhere you go! Back in its day. This wa s the thing to have. As to when its day was. I have no idea. But i t is old. It has no chips or cracks of any kind. There is only very light scuffing from use by people who took care of their equipment. It is missing only one screw on the bottom. It is also missing a clip that holds the han dle on. Even without the clip the handle stays on and works fine. All you do is to keep a slight pressure inward as you work the ... morehandle. The clip is in the shape of a C. Made of wire. It clips around the handle, and when the handle is pushed in, it engages a groove on the shaft that it slips onto. You can get these at a good hardware store. The kin d of store with all of the draw ers with nuts and bolts(not a box store. Although they could possibl y have one) It does work as indicated by the numbers that I printed on the paper tape. However. I don't know how to"work" it as far as what switches do what. So I don't know what the result was of the number with the T and S. I really like it. But I must put it up for sale for at least one week as required by the law of my home. However, if no one buys it. Then I'll get a clip for th e handle and a screw for the bottom. Then I'll spray it clean with a can of cleaner(after I take it apart) then l ube it. Because of its relatively small size. And with it s sleek contours. It will look great on my oak des k. Anyway. Original Antique 1753 Chippendale Engraving Plans & Specs Desk & Bookcase LXXVII
Description As described in the title and shown on the 10 photos and 2 scans(most accurate as to color and texture) This is an original engraving from a rather large volume that Thomas Chippendale published in 1754. We have no idea how many editions or printings were created from these rather well known plates. It was last matted and framed in the 1970's but the frame was damaged and we tossed it. We tested the mat and back and they are both acid neutral. The back is in good condition with the impressions of framing nails around the edges as would be expected. The mat is bright and clean without aging or damage so we are sending the print still mounted with two framer's strips on the back and the mat loose. The mat measures about 19 3/8" x 24 3/8" with an opening approx. 9 1/2" x 14 1/2" which shows and frames ... morethe plate impression. The print is on laid paper as it should be and is generally bright and clean with some ink fading and spotting. Outer area foxing or toning, several tiny pin holes and other expected wrinkles and marks. The bottom portion shows the remnants of binding and is bumped and injured as shown in the photos below. However, once the print is matted and framed, it presents quite nicely. The paper measures approx. 11" x 18" and the plate impression measures approx. 8 5/8" x 13 7/8" The upper right corner is stamped"LXXVII. and the name of furniture piece is"Desk& Bookcase. The bottom is marked"T. Chippendale inv. et del. Pub. according to act of Parliam. 1753. and"T. Muller sculp. There are many small numbers and marks that are in the engraving of the desk and bookcase- don't know if these are specs. or refer to plans. Please note that it was difficult for the camera to produce accurate colors and textures of the mat and print but we were able to scan small portions of both. Antique Steamer Trunk / Writers Desk
Up for sale is a unique item. I used this as a waitress station in my restaurant. It is an antique steamer trunk. That someone long before me converted into a writing desk. The trunk portion is pidgeon holed with small drawers, while the front folds down for a writing surface. The top still opens to reveal the tray, which remains hidden when the top is closed. I forgot to get the measurements, but I would approximate it to be 28x28x12 I could be wrong, this could be all original, but I dont think so. If anyone knows more about it please let me know. this is an exquisite antique crystal and bronze trinket box. it has a gorgeous lid made from bronze with a faint silver plating. And has a heavily embossed floral scene. also it has a space in the design where initials of the owner would be engraved. It is blank. the lid has a wonderful patina from age. the base has a great tapered multiple knob design and a star at bottom, it is either made from crystal or glass in good shape. the box measures 4 by 1 3/4 inches. North Electric Model 7H6 Desk Set This telephone set is a North Electric 7H6 desk set telephone. It was made in Galion. Ohio, U.S.A. It was manufactured in 1953. And is stamped as such inside the set on the base. The telephone is made of brown bakelite. Including the handset and the finger wheel attached to the main shaft of the dial. The official factory color designation for this set. Is“Mahogany” While I wouldn’t classify this set as“rare” It is hard to find. A set such as this one. Equipped with a North manufactured dial, with a bakelite finger wheel, still in one piece, is even harder to find. Quite often the finger wheel on these sets is broken. Or missing a piece of the bakelite from which it was made. The set itself. Is in amazing shape for something that’s 60 years old, or close to it. The case and handset have no chips or significant ... morescratches that I can find. There are a couple of very small marks that appear to be slight imperfections created in. Or by the mold when the set was cast. This set is not to be confused with the Northern Electric Uniphone. Which was made in Montreal, Canada. While they are similar in appearance. They do have their differences, and were made by two completely different telephone manufacturers. The North Electric 7H6. Was made to compete with Western Electric’s 302 desk set, and Northern Electric’s Uniphone, as well as sets made by Automatic Electric and other telephone makers of the day. All of the above mentioned sets. Are classified as combined, anti sidetone telephone sets. North Electric bought some of their components from other telephone makers. Such as Western Electric. The induction coil. The handset F1 transmitter and HA1 receiver, were either made by Western, or made by North Electric under license from Western. The set had no line cord when I received it. And the original rubber handset cord was dried out, and the inner insulation was cracked and falling off the copper conductors inside the transmitter cavity of the handset, and required replacement. ANTIQUE Cast Brass POLLY PARROT desk LETTER OPENER 1900. This is a very nice ANTIQUE ~ A POLLY PARROT DESK LETTER OPENER circa 1900/20s. This letter opener has a beautiful appearance on the desk and displays well. It is nicely made from solid cast brass and retains a lovely naturally aged patina to the surface. The design is bold and well detailed and the tail forms the letter cutter. It measures 8 inches in length and is around 1 1/2 inches wide at the birds shoulder. It is thought to date from the late Victorian period. Circa 1900. This really is a beautiful and unusual letter opener, and is now, Offered at a low start price. Antique Western Electric B1 102 round base desk telephone 634A subset ringer
This is a real gem. A Western Electric model B1 round base desk telephone, often erroneously described as a model 102. The designations 102 and 202 actually referred to the wiring configuration, 102 meaning sidetone and 202 meaning anti sidetone circuitry. This is wired with anti sidetone circuitry. It was taken from its original home when the estate went up for sale, and was still being used. 634A subset ringer box is the old style with the nice big ringer bells. Original western electric cloth handset cord, the phone to subset cord is exact reproduction 4 conductor cord. Noise suppressor filter is wired to the dial, these are not commonly used although not quite rare. The dial is the very type of H4, nice loud clickety clack sound. It is a converted#2 dial, evident by the two empty screw holes next to the finger stop and by the patent information ... moreon the side. Frome the WE dial website: The most obvious difference which is observed in the 4 H painted case types is the method in which Western Electric marked their name on the dial. All marking is on the rear surface of the dial. This marking consists of two types. The earliest type of marking is"WESTERN ELECTRIC MADE IN USA PAT IN USA AUG 24 15 DES MAY 7 18 SEPT 13 21" on the rear surface of the case. This type used the following parts from the No. 2 dial: the main shaft. The governor gear bracket, and the governor speed adjusting screw. Dial card center ring has a squared edge rather than round. Also an earlier original version. 5 digit phone number is washed out in some photos, but can be seen from above in one shot. Number card is original. Original leather base with cork feet in nice shape. Wired for modern modular service with standard plug. Adapter/convertor necessary for internet use. 6 month warranty. Antique 1920's Wurttemberg Desk / Mantle clock
You are bidding on a small Wurttemberg Desk or mantle clock set in a wood mahogany case. The clock was made in Germany. And has the date 12/18/19)24 inscribed on the back. May have been a birthday, Christmas, anniversary.etc gift at one point in time. The back of the clock has the original covering and has a F/S switch and original winder. The top of the mahogany case has some age cracking and the bottom of the clock has 4 brass feet. The face of the clock measures roughly 2.5" has a white face with black hands and numerals, trimmed in a copper/ brass ring. The clock overall measures roughly 3" wide, 5" high, and 1.75" thick. Clock winds up and makes ticking noise but is missing one hand. I'm sure this little clock could get up and running rather easily.
