Very Old Antique School Desk with Drawer - Adjustable Height Tilting Desk RARE
Up for auction is a very cool. Very old antique school desk. The desk is adjustable in many different ways. The top desk portion actually tilts. The desk can be raised also to different heights with a metal bar underneath that has two positions. The bar on the back of the chair also can be raised and lowered for proper back support. The writing desk portion also slides back and forth to get closer or farther from the child sitting in the chair. There is a nice drawer under the chair. This is an amazing piece of work- very mechanical and advanced for its time. The seat height is approximately 12.5 inches high off the ground- approximately 24 3/4 inches to the top of the back of the seat. Writing desk portion is 15 by 20 inches and tilts from 4 to 6 inches. Gorgeous Antique Kittinger Brand Executive Desk. Made in N.Y. Post 1950. French Walnut. Exceptional Detail. Desk Measurements are approximately 65 1/2 in width. Approximately 36" inches in depth. Features 8 drawers total. The drawers impressively deep. Each of the side drawers measure approximately 26 1/2 inches deep. Traditional satinwood fan inlay adorns the center of the fall. A few nicks and wear marks add character to the wood, although there are not many and they are mostly concentrated around the base, which is normal for a piece of this age. Meanwhile, a series of brass swan neck pulls adorn the drawer fronts. The desk area itself is inlaid with a rich writing surface of fine, brown leather bordered by gold tooling. Antique All Wood Two Seater Tall School Desk
I've done this for 30 plus years and have never run across a school desk like this before. It's a two seater. Or possibly three small children, more than likely from a one room schoolhouse around the turn-of-the-century. I think the wood is Ash or Chestnut, but not positive. The top and the seat is pegged to the base. There are screws holding the seat to the back support. It is absolutely wonderful. It measures 47" long by 37" wide and 38" tall. The lock and key in lower door doesn't work. The key is a handle only. There is some silver loss on the back of mirror but mirror could be easy replaced. Inside the drop front desk are tiny cubicles and a drawer for papers. Bookshelves are adjustable on this American made furniture. Brass hardware is original. Antique Carved Jade And Carnelian Desk Set-Inkwell And Pen Holder!
This is an Awesome piece! This Antique Desk Set has a Jade Inkwell and a place for the pen to rest! The Jade Plaque and Inkwell are a lighter shade of green than the lid. The Plaque and Inkwell are a creamier more white and green Jade while the lid is a darker shade of green-more of a brighter green. This has a Huge Carved Jade Plaque-shaped like a lock-with birds and flowers throughout which is set on a large wood base! The wood base is circular and measures a little over 6 inches in diameter! The Carved Jade Plaque alone measures 5 inches wide. By 3 1/2 inches tall, and is almost a 1/2 an inch thick! There is a brass piece for the pen to rest on that is also highly detailed and carved! This piece measures about 3 inches long. Then there is a Jade Jar or Inkwell with flowers engraved around the outside! The inside of the jar(Inkwell) is ... morelined in brass and this is how the lid is attached to the bottom also! When the lid is raised, the brass on the underside of the lid is completely engraved with flowers also-so it even looks good when opened! The top of the lid is yet another piece of Jade carved with the symbol of Longevity or Long Life! The knob to the lid is a beautiful Orange Carved Carnelian Flower! The Inkwell(or jar) measures 2 1/2 inches tall without the lid and measures 3 inches tall with the lid and Carnelian knob! The Inkwell is about 2 inches wide in diameter! The Jade Plaque and Inkwell are attached to the wood base with a large screw of some kind that secures on the inside bottom of the Inkwell and the bottom of the wood! There appears to be a second nail on the bottom of the wood, but I can not see where this goes from the top! I would purchase this for the Jade Plaque alone! ANTIQUE FLAT-TOP DESK OR LIBRARY TABLE -SOLID DARK MAHOGANY - NO VENEERS
Possibly Edwardian era desk or library table is in excellent condition. I have owned it since 1980 and have not altered the finish. Although it may have been refinished prior to my ownership. This desk is very sturdy. The dimensions are 40" long X 25 1/4" deep X 28 1/4" high. Nice chunky brass hardware is complete and original. This desk is constructed of solid wood.no veneers.which I think is flame mahogany. The dovetailed drawers are constucted of what appears to be bird's eye maple bottoms(which is a very high quality wood to be used on drawer interiors) and oak sides. There is one center drawer and two deeper. More narrow drawers on the right side. Drawers all work smoothly. There is a platform at the lower level of the desk. The four feet are carved animal-type. On each side is a scroll sort of carving. The top is ... morein nice condition but I have not shown it in the photos because my TV sits atop it and I cannot lift it off. OLD ANTIQUE SETH THOMAS MANTLE/SHELF/DESK/TABLE CLOCK "TUDOR" WORKS GREAT!
This listing is for a beautiful little clock made by Seth Thomas. It is the"Tudor" model. Made in the first decade of the 1900's. It was my great uncles who passed on about thirty years ago. It is all original. But I do not have a key and so never saw it run. It is a petite 9x6x5. Apart from the usual signs of age. This little beauty is in wonderful shape! The inlay on the case still looks great. The signed, 4 inch enameled dial is bright, and the beveled edge glass is gorgeous. The hands, pendulum, brass feet, everything is original. Other than that, I have no more information.

This is a wonderful and hard to find original Chinese portable desk. Many people do not know to this day that there were compartments to these desks that did not divulge themselves to the average person. In fact. We are not certain we have found them all so a buyer might want to examine it more closely. Forgive us but we are considerably busier than we anticipated in selling our collection for retirement. The desk we were told through the estate from which it was acquired was used down through several generations. It could use some touch up work here and there that while showing its heavy and continuous use also displays the fact it is genuinely very old. However. We chose to use it as it is— more for display purposes than use. The multitude of mother of pearl inlay work diffuses the appearance of bumps and chips.
