ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE SIX DRAWER FILE CABINET CUPBOARD- UNIQUE VERTICAL HARDWARE* Up for sale is this nice six drawer file cabinet. This is a nice quality wooden cabinet with unique and interesting vertical handles on the drawers. It's a deep rich red stain color and parts of it have even darker color. The cabinet is in good shape for it's age and has a number of nicks. Dings and scrapes on it as you can see in the pictures. There is a noticeable color difference in the wood on the drawers and also between the drawers and the top and sides. The drawers have high sides on them as you can see in the pictures except for one drawer where one high side has broken in half and the top of the side of the drawer is missing. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age. It's old but we're ... morenot sure how old. On the inside of the drawers is written"Mr. Mueller" and"8-16-26" We anticipate that this is when Mr. Mueller obtained it and that it was in 1926. The lower right door sticks a little when you try to pull it out but the others work fine. The cabinet measures 31.75" W x 16.5" W x 20.25" H. The drawers measures 8.75" W x 14.5" D x 7" H inside. The inside of the drawers will hold a 6" x 8" card vertically. The cabinet weighs 60 lbs. which is a testament to it's quality. It's a very interesting piece! Thank you for looking at this item. It is made of Oak wood, and features four(4) adjustable shelves on the inside. It has a single door on the front, with a decorative wooden lattice. The door is designed to hold a sheet of glass, but the glass is missing. A working lock with key is installed on the door to secure the contents of the Cabinet. The Cabinet measures 55-7/8 inches high. 28-1/2 inches wide, and 13-1/8 inches deep. It weighs 64 pounds. There is a label on the back with places for names of the different workers who performed the various assembly steps, but the names are unreadable(see close up picture) Some larger painted numbers are found on the back, and there is the number 252 impressed ... moreinto the wood towards the top of the back. The original brass corner brackets and brass straps were used to protect the chest whilst in transit during campaigns. The drawers also feature their original brass round key escutcheons. All drawers are in excellent working order and are clean inside. The central drawer is the largest of all; this was to house decorative and parade uniform such as hats(it’s commonly known as a hat drawer) The chest is constructed of solid teak and the hand-dovetailed drawers are constructed of solid chestnut. Let's be honest. Is this a period cupboard? Yes. Has it been reworked and refinished? Yes. But it was not done recently. The finish has now aged and mellowed and it has a few stains and scuffs. I always show the worst I can find in the photos, so look them over. This item travels in 2 pieces. No tools or screws are used to attach the top to the base. Set the top on, and gravity does the rest. On the bottom, the left door drifts open a bit, but this in stored in an old building with not so level floors so leveling it might take care of that, or it may need a minor adjustment to the hinges. It is shabby on the inside with remnants of wallpaper lining the back and sides but not the shelves. Great 2 panel door a latch on the inside to lock and a porcelain knob. Offering many different colores of chippy paint. I have sealed its surface to prevent any more paint coming off. The Tile is sealed on the backside with the original piece of wood that backed the mirror. To the inside there are 2 shelves which are enclosed with a fine panel door complete with geometric molding, iron hinges and original working lock with key. This is all complimented with a fantastic Deco carved and molded raised pediment. The top is all good with no significant marks. The cabinet has been polished with 3 coats of wax giving a warm patination. English Georgian Antique Welsh Cupboard, Sideboard Cabinet, Very Fine, Two Parts
English Georgian Oak Welsh Cupboard 20th Century. In Outstanding Condition Item# 130109UBG23 This is an absolutely gorgeous and very well preserved English Georgian Style Oak Welsh Cupboard. An entirely hand crafted benchmade work. The finish is golden and glowing, relatively free of any noteworthy flaws other than the most minor use indicators. The projecting crown molding is outlined with toothed dentil molding over three shelved levels channeled for plate presentation, the lower two flanked by cupboard doors over a single small drawer. The doors are raised panel, the frame tenoned and pinned in following original period construction. The lower base is raised over turned legs with a steepled apron hosting three large drawers- one is outfitted for silverware, the other two upholstered and open; these are hand dovetailed at the front, nailed ... moreat the back and along the bottom. The feet are stretched with a lower shelf. Great care and energy went into properly crafting this piece after the Georgian originals- all of the solid oak surfaces are hand planed. Resulting in the wonderful rippling of light across the sheen of the shellac'd surface. The hand forged nails that join the nailed surfaces together complete the piece with a great air of authenticity. Measurements: top] 63 3/4" wide x 6" deep x 49" high; base] 66 1/2" wide x 19 3/4" deep x 33" high; total height 82" Condition Report: Outstanding condition- gorgeous glowing finish with only the most minor dings and abrasions. Minor chipping of wood to back boards visible from the left side. Fabric inside of the drawers is a bit dirty. Very sturdy. Stable and strong. Antique Dry Sink, Cabinet, Cupboard, Small Chest, Wash Stand
This is a great little cabinet/dry sink/cupboard etc. That is so versatile. It is made of wood- I think it is mahogany- and comes with a marble top and back splash. The cabinet has one long top drawer and two narrower drawers down the left side, with a cupboard door on the right side. My family used it as a small bar- but the possibilities are endless! The chest itself is in great structural condition- dovetailed drawers are secure. All handles are present, and hinges on door are fine. Thnere is a piece of trim on the door that has some damage- I'm not sure if it is original to the piece, but it can be easily replaced. The marble top and backsplash have some marks. I do not know how to remove these safely, so have not tried. Both the top and backsplash are not secured to the cabinet, and for the most part, the cabinet was used with only ... morethe top. In the photographs, the back splash is just leaning against the wall. Dimensions: Length of the cabinet side to side is approximately 27.5" The length of the marble top and backsplash side to side is approximately 30" Depth of the cabinet. The front right corner of the marble has some kind of well done repair(see pictures) There are also some well done repairs to the front moulding around the pot board shelf at the bottom. Very nice sturdy large wooden medicine cabinet with two glass shelves. Measures: 20" wide x 24" tall x 6 1/2" deep. White shabby paint on outside and a really nice primitive green inside. AMAZING!! RARE UNIQUE One of a Kind Maritime Antique Nautical Cabinet Cupboard
Up for auction is a very Rare. Amazing& Wonderful one of a kind find! I know nothing personally about item. I'm not sure how to describe this Neat Old Collectible, but was told this piece belonged to a famous Great Lakes Sea Captain named Capt. Thomas Ellery from Port Huron, Michigan. He was a Capt. there around 1860s& he lived to around 1903. It is a very unique piece& has a nice look to it. I believe this to be a Walnut or Mahogany type wood(quite heavy& solid) with brass or brass colored knobs& trim. There is a slide out writing desk style board on the bottom of the cabinet but is seen on the top in some pictures. The only thing I think is new is the brackets someone put on the back to hang to a wall or side of the ship? This measures approx. 28" wide X 25" tall X 11" deep.
