The chair measures 21 inches long by 20 1/2 inches wide and is 38 1/2 inches tall. The wood on this chair is solid walnut and is well preserved and cared for. There are minor portions of surface cracking on what appears to have been some sort of a varnish applied to the front legs. This doesn't affect the wood or quality of the chair. As this chair is in the age range of 150 years old plus. These minor imperfections add to the authenticity of evidence of its true age. Pair, 2 French Breton Chairs, Intricately Carved Beautiful Antique Wood
This is a great pair of chairs. These are gorgeous chairs with intricate carving that will add personality to a room. People have given me different guesses on what they were from an austrian revival to a William and Mary chair. I am not a furniture expert and they seem to be most like the French Breton. Please look at the photos and make your own assessment. Domestic purchase only. I can arrange for local pickup if you prefer. The chairs have a new upholstery on them. 1930's Antique Mahogany dining set, handmade table and 8 chairs
This one-of-a-kind set of a gorgeous mahogany dining table and 8 chairs that my great-grandfather had commissioned in the early 1930's. The table stands on 2 pedestals. Each with w/3 brass clawed feet. With the help of 2 leaves(included) the table expands to 12 feet in length! It is in EXCELLENT condition. The chairs are as follows: There are 8 chairs total. 6 regular and 2 for the head/foot of the table and they have arms. They are 100% hand made from the strongest mahogany, I've been sitting on these chairs for as long as I can remember(about 35 years) and they don't even creak! Notice the intricate carving on the tops of all the chair backs, it's unbelievable! This set should not be passed on. It's a beautiful, original design and you will not find anything like it, anywhere!

It's an extremely beautiful. Well-made and well taken care of set. It's light and petite versus the older massive types. SO it can easily accomodate the smaller dining room built today. The actual date of the furniture is believed to be 1920's- 1930's. The current owners state that this was originally purchased from a very rich family in Cincinnati. OH. The table is 30" high. 34" wide, and 58" long without the leaves extended. It has 2 end self-storing leaves- each leaf being 19" Hence, with one leaf extended is ... more7" and with both extended is 96" or 8 feet long. The four side chairs are 16-1/2" wide and 16-1/2" deep. While the two larger end chairs are 22-1/4" wide by 18-1/2" deep. All have upholstered seats. The server/buffet is 33" high. 37" long and 18" deep. It contains storage compartments. The glass fronted china cabinet is 57-1/2' high. 37" wide, and 15" deep. Below the display area is a storage drawer for tablecloths, etc. The chairs and table have"787" and Russmore stamped.assume this is the model number and pattern name. The set was manufactured by the Grand Rapids Chair company of Grand Rapids. Michigan. That company was founded in 1872 and primarily produced chairs until 1880. After that date they then began to produced complete sets and"ash" was their popular wood with carved panels and heavier moldings. You will not be disappointed with this set.as soon as you look at it you will love it. We have here a wonderful pair of hand-made antique cane chairs. These chairs were custom-made by a cabinet maker around the turn of the century and were appraised at $1300 each over 30 years ago. Each chair is slightly different due to being made by hand. The cane seats were professionally restored some years back and the chairs are in beautiful condition. This is in good condition with wear for a dining room set of this age. One leaf will need minor adjustments to the retracting mechanism.

4 Antique 1929 Art Deco/Industrial Folding Chairs Steel/Plum Cloth Unusual
Designer is A. S. HAGEMAN. Folded they are 36 3/4" tall by 16 3/4" wide-17" wide at the foot caps. Ready to set in seat is 18" tall. Back is 31 3/4" Seat is 13 3/4" wide by 13" deep. 2 have their makers tags-2 don't. Tags read Foldwell Air City Mfg Co Dayton Ohio with patent numbers of 1698898 and 1698697 which are 1929. One also had a cloth tag showing the date of manufacture of July 10 1929. Frames are steel with a gold paint on them- wear to the gold paint. Material is cloth and a violet/plum purple. They are very well made and sturdy and have a great style with the arches and twist to the steel. They weigh about 12 lbs each. They have an assortment of mixed rubber feet on them. Several have a wobble to them setting by themselves but when you set in them they are sturdy with no wobble except for one ... moreas it is missing a rubber foot. Those feet are not original and need replaced. They still make similar feet. It looks like 40 to 50 years ago they ran around the bottom of the feet with the old oil impregnated cloth electrical tape to thicken them up so those feet would stay on securely. On one the upholstery is loose in the very front and slightly torn there. You can tuck it back under the frame but you need to make it stay somehow. Maybe staple it to the wood frame of the seat. Also at the very top back arch on the gold paint is marked H.H. WEBB for the previous owner years ago. It is marked in black stencil paint. The black is very faded. These not only look good set up but they look good folded with them showing all the curved arches/supports. All the arches not only give it a good look they also give it good strength. I am happy to offer a set of lovely early Victorian solid mahogany( possibly be walnut but I don't think so) balloon side chairs. These balloon chairs are a bit larger than most. The top crests are hand carved and a small repair. Got to mention it, was made when a small piece came off top for some reason. It has nothing to do with structural integrity or the chair's good looks. Not even noticable. Other than that.legs are good, etc. The wood is darker in person. It seems the flash makes the wood look lighter in apperance; however it is the best way for you to see every detail. The age of the chair is early 19c to near to mid 1800s. However due to the fact these are a bit larger and more beefy than most, I tend to think earlier. This is a rare and fabulous set of eight 19th century French Louis XV Fauteuil dining room chairs. They are just gorgeous! The fabric is immaculate. It is a pink/salmon color and the backs are done in a contrasting plaid fabric of cream, green and pink/salmon. I was told that they were purchased by a decorator in France. There are 6 side chairs and 2 arm chairs. They are all beautifully carved and painted and also very sturdy. You are bidding on FOUR mahogany inlaid dining chairs in original finish. They have inlaid Hepplewhite legs. Stiles are line inlaid, backrest has a carved lyre(most often associated with Duncan Phyfe) and top rail is inlaid with a conch shell. The fully upholstered seats have springs(very comfortable) and are upholstered in a brownish quilted fabric with Chinese decoration. The age is hard for me to determine, I would guess them to be between 1890 to 1910.they are very well made.the lyre looks hand carved to me but you be the judge of that. 2 Vintage French Wingback Chairs w/ottoman to match 1800's reupholstered antique
I was told that these chairs are from the 1800's. And they have been reupholstered. The seats are filled with down feathers. They are in great shape. They are a matching set. Yet one has a bit of slipping of the reupholstery, and held in place with tacks(see close up picture) I don't know anything about them. I would appreciate any feedback as to their origin. Circa 1800s, made from solid oak with three leaves and Victorian decoration. Without the leaves the table is square as can be seen in the photos. It was purchased in the mid-1980s and was totally restored at the time. It is in very good condition. The leaves have their own wooden case. The table sits beautifully. An exceptional piece of furniture which would look outstanding in the right setting. This auction includes two(what I believe are) North Wind(Northwind) oak chairs from the same period. These rare pieces of furniture have also been called Gargoyle and Demon chairs. This style was popular during the late Victorian era(1870-1900) The North Wind face. The chairs are in good condition, for their age, other than some minor wear on the edge of the carving and some discoloration on the leather seats. You are viewing a seven piece collection of antique Dutch silver miniature furniture. The suite comprises a bench. Two armchairs, two side chairs, and a table. I am offering them at no reserve. From the hallmarks above, which are stamped to the bottom of the table, I believe the guaranteed purity is at least.833 and the assay office is Alkmaar. I believe the letter date is for 1911. Each piece of furniture has the maker's initials of J.P. and each is stamped with the sword hallmark also indicating a fineness of at least.833 pure. The antique type of furniture with barley twist or turned spindle legs is in excellent condition with little wear and tear, and no breaks or missing parts. These chairs have been sanded down, primed and painted a very soft(and I mean soft and light) sage green, tinted white. The seats were replaced on two physically(because they were missing; however the top portions were still intact in a very"tacky red leather" that had holes from age. My French upholsterer restored the inner stuffing and upholstered the 4 with a beautiful GARDEN motif English Chintz fabric. They are perfectly clean and structurally proper. Wonderful for a GARDEN PARTY! I call them the Garden Party Chairs. The colors are beaufitul on the fabric and I have an extra 1 1/2 yards I am throwing in, in case you wish to make a tablecloth ... moreto match. These chairs can be used inside or out. This is a matching set of six beautiful Victorian side chairs with tapestry seats(except for one that needs a new seat) They appear to have originally had cane seats. Their wood appears to be walnut wood. Shoulder arms(side seat rails) fancy carving and burl detail. They measure slightly larger than traditional Victorian side chairs: Height 34 inches. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of OLD. Early 20th century, spindle back chairs. The chairs have influences of both French and English Country. The chairs are solid wood with a rich brown stain(original) and black paint on seats and back head rest area. The chairs have a unique back design. They features turned wood spindles which are off set and a center, curved back rest. The legs and stretchers are also turned wood. The seats are curved(fiddle style) and come to a point in the back. The actual seating area is carved and recessed. The chairs are quite striking and make great dining chairs or lovely accent pieces. They are in good condition with some normal and expected evidence of age and use. There are no broken or repaired spindles or legs. The stain has worn in some areas and there is some crazing/bubbling to the old lacquer ... morefinish in a couple of areas. One of the chairs is a little uneven at the bottom. One of the seats has had a split at the joint(on the seat of the chair) It has been filled(previously) and it is very strong with no issues. None of these are distracting and the chairs are lovely and sturdy. The paint as been distressed to look worn. The chairs measure 37.5" tall to the backs and 17.5" in height to the seat. The chairs have a flared shape which is particularly pronounced from the back profile. They are generous in size with abundant, original hair fiber stuffing/padding. They are lightly tufted, on the front side of the backs, in a geometric pattern. The wood frames are fluted on the backs and smooth on the remainder of the frame. Seven American Federal Antique Dining Chairs, New York c. 1805-15, Mahogany Set
Set of Seven American Federal Mahogany Dining Chairs Probably New York. Possibly Philadelphia c. 1805-15 Chairs stamped"M B" on back rails Item# 130210WXD05 This is a delightful set of period American Federal Dining Chairs. Almost certainly New York City c. 1805-1815. The"bell-shaped" seat and square back was commercially successful only in New York City and Philadelphia, the only two centers that consistently produced the form. This set is particularly attractive with the unusual front legs, each deeply reeded and tapered, set on a cant with the seat- the effect is wonderful, lightening the shape of the chairs, particularly as the bell-shape juxtaposes the square austerity of the neoclassical profile. Each back is crafted identically, the crest dropping onto the stiles and spindles with small tenons; the plain square ... moreback is deeply reeded, terminating into the seat with a shaped panel return. The back side of the splat reveals a canted frame and stiles, squaring at the seat frame to flow into backswept square rear legs. The seat frames are American Ash[visual analysis. Not micro-analysis] with[possibly] cherry medial stretchers; the craftsmanship is quite ingenious, as the round of the seat would naturally place the most pressure on where the stiles join the frame. To protect the chairs from this, a medial stretcher dovetails into either side, the gap filled with a thin piece to distribute pressure along the stretcher evenly. The only chair where this is not the case is the arm chair, where the length of the arm acts as a square and removes the need for this labor intensive seat joinery. The back rail of each seat is branded"M B" and each chair is numbered on the medial stretcher, leading us to believe the original set had at least twenty chairs in it. Here are a pair of Victorian chairs. Newly reapholstered,with the new old stock material. The wood does have a couple of scratches, looking at the overall still in good shape. One of them also has the bust of a women on each arm.Now this is what I know, We bought the frames from a friend of ours, they inherited them along with the bolt of material that was put aside for the chairs. My friends uncle was an upholsterer, he had them hanging in his shop for years,was going to re-uphoster them for himself but never got around to it. I bought the wood frames,was told they were hand carved and oqiginal, do not know for sure, and can't gaurantee, just what I was told. I bought the frames and material, took them and the material to have them uphostered. They put new springs and stuffing, and used the bolt of material that came with them.
