Antique wooden bed head board. Foot board, side panels, with known family history This is a beautiful antique wood bed with a head board. Foot board, and side panels. I was told by his granddaughter that this was owned by William Taggert Parr who was born on September 4. 1871 in Wyoming. Wisconsin and died in 1955 in Charles City. Iowa. William Parr’s brother Charles H. Parr along with Charles W. Hart were the first commercially successful manufacturers of a gasoline engine tractor, the Hart-Parr Tractor. There are no slats to support a mattress and no mattress. I believe this is what was called a three quarter bed. The inside measurement that would accommodate a mattress is length 71 inches and width 49 ½ inches. The head board is 54 inches across and the height measured at the middle is 57 inches. The foot board height at the middle ... moreis 29 ½ inches. There are metal cleats to attach the head board and foot boards to the side panels. The cleats are stamped and it is hard to see but I think it is Brown Knecht Kempf and Pat. MCH 1872. This is an antique; please refer to photos for condition. Please email if you have questions. Holds 80" x 60" box spring& mattress(Queen size) Headboard is 83.5" tall(1/2" under 7' Foot board is 46.5" tall. Missing a couple of the little threaded brass balls that hold the twisted bars of solid brass to the foot board. But I'll pick up some replacements for them this week. Some tarnish on brass(all brass pieces are solid brass, NOT plated) Some chips and scratches in the white paint. One cast iron frame bracket has a couple pieces chipped off of it, but still works just fine(see pic) Overall in good condition. Very unique rare Victorian bed. Lovely Antique Embroidered Cotton Coverlet/Bed Cover Full Size - Nice
This is very old. In my family with initials of mok. I am sure it is at least 85 years old. There are two small spots toward bottom as pictured. The picture is magified. I cannot find any other flaws. Very clean. This is cotton. I think the edging is done by machine, but other than that all hand embroidered. The cropped pictue is the underside to show how beautifully this is stiched. Measures: 100" Long x 78" wide. These were made to use as summer bed covers. This is very well cared for.

Antique Twin Bed, Walnut Mahogany w/newer poplar extra long rails
For sale is a beautiful traditional style antique twin bed with classic turned posts and two shades of wood on the headboard and footboard. It may be a combination of walnut and mahogany or two shades of the same wood. I refinished it many years ago and applied two or more coats of Formby's low gloss tung oil to give it a nice satin finish. The side rails were made when the bed was restored in extra long(80 inches) to accomodate a tall son. But could be shortened. They are of poplar and stained to match the bed. The condition is very good for an old bed. There is a crack about one third across the footboard panel(shown in pic. 6) and a portion of the ball finial on the post on that side of the footboard is missing(pic 7) They are not great detractions from the bed overall. The original rails were probably sleigh bed style and there is ... morea cut out in each post above where the rails attach that was probably to accomodate this design. See pic 11. Shorter Iron Bed Rail For An Antique Iron Bed Restored
For sale today is a iron bed rail that is only 47 1/4 inches long. Perhaps for a child's bed? This is the only bed rail of this length I have ever seen. All paint. Rust and dirt was removed from the rail. The rail was polished and given multiple coats of clear lacquer. It is ready for the color of your choice. The ends are tapered. As best I could measure them the top of the rail is 1 3/4" in diameter and the bottom is 5/8's of a inch. No cracks or breaks in the metal. The s/h/i in the auction is always wrong. DESCRIPTION: Beautiful Victorian/ Eastlake full size cherry bed. Cherry dresser and walnut chest circa 1880. Headboard of cherry bed is 74 in. high and 63 1/2 in. wide. Footboard is 34 1/2 in. high and 63 1/2 in. wide. Bed rails are 78 1/4 in. long and inside width of rails is 57 in. Cherry dresser is 81 in. high, 47 in. wide and 22 in. deep. Dresser has original rose colored marble top, original beveled mirror and original brass hardware. Brass bolts holding mirror in frame will not tighten. Dresser has 4 drawers with dovetail construction and poplar secondary wood. Walnut chest is 52 in. high, 32 in. wide and 21 in. deep. Chest has 6 drawers with dovetail construction and poplar secondary wood. Chest does not match bed and dresser but goes well together. Total weight is about 300 lbs. Bed, dresser and chest were refinished many years ago ... moreand have a good finish. Dresser and chest are on casters. Bed does not have casters but has holes for them. This is a beautiful and very functional antique three quarter bed. It has graced my guest room for several years and my guests have always remarked on how comfortable and lovely the bed is. Everything is in great shape and I am only selling it because we are moving to a smaller residence. The bed is finely made of hardwood(oak or cherry) with graceful scallop design on headboard. Late Victorian Edwardian Bed Sheet Pineapple Crochet Trim From a late Edwardian- 1920's estate. A lovely vintage bed sheet with handmade crochet lace edging in the pineapple pattern. The sheeting is a nice quality cotton fabric, possibly even being metis. It is home sewn, nicely made, on a treadle machine. Overall size is 82" wide x 105" long. The crochet edging is attached to one end of the bed sheet as well as along the two sides extending 30" to form the sheet return. The crochet edging, itself, measures 5" wide. Condition: It has been laundered sometime, although not recently. I did notice a small faint spot of oxidation on the tip of one of the pineapples as well as a small spot on the sheeting fabric, itself. More than likely, in another washing, the marks could be removed. If you notice in the 2nd photo a small ... morepink dot embedded in the sewing line. This mark most likely will not launder out. VERY Rare 1880s Antique Victorian STICK & BALL FOLDUP DAYBED Predates Murphy Bed
The first Murphy bed was introduced in 1918 but this foldup daybed was manufactured by the Kenesha Crib Company in the mid 1880s(the company only existed under this name between 1882 and 1892) It has a wood frame and metal mesh wire mattress holder plus and intricate iron mechanism which allows it to open and close. The wire mesh mattress holder has been reenforced with wire(a late addition) It has two arms at the top to allow for draping the head of the bed canopy style. There are some rods missing which are available for replacement but by and large the bed is stable and the iron mechanism is working perfectly. The company's emblem is on the top of the headboard. This is a very rare and collectable piece of furniture. This is a perfect bed for a child transitioning from a crib. The lace in the photos IS NOT included with the bed. This is a French cherry Louis XV carved bed dating from the 1920s era. In beautiful condition. Some people call this light brown mahogany, ... morebut you can call it anything you want, including YOURS, thanks to the very reasonable price! It comes with a shapely paneled footboard with an oval medallion carved center, cabriole carved feet, the same wide molded top on the headboard with a large panel featuring beautiful grains of wood and on the very top is a carved crest. The overall outside dimensions are 57 inches wide at its widest point, 35 inches high on the footboard, and 60 inches to the top of the carved crest on the headboard. The bolt-in side rails are solid wood, bolting right in to the bed frame, and have cast iron brackets where the box spring will set. The inside of the rails measure 52 inches wide, and 75 inches long. The finish is a medium walnut stain, and in really good condition. A Pair of English Antique Edwardian Inlaid Golden Oak Tea/ Serving/ Drinks/ Bed Trays More pictures Below. They are made of solid oak. Cut to show off the flecking in the grain. They have solid brass loop handles. The inlay is a neo-classical geometric pattern and has kept it colour far better than much Edwardian furniture. This item will have been made and probably retailed. In London. I have had them for half a dozen years. It came from a provincial auction in North Derbyshire. Dimensions Larger Length 60cm 23 ½ inches Width 41.5 cm 16 ¼ inches Smaller Length 49.5cm 19 1/4 inches Width 34cm 13 ¼ inches They are in good overall condition with the odd sign of age. The top has edges have some knocks to the corners– as you would expect. However the smaller trays planks have come apart and it has ... moresome ring marks(as you can see) At some time in the distant past the smaller tray has had some woodworm to the side and back– difficult to spot. The worm was dead when I bought them(I treated it anyhow) and they have been in my house for 5 or 6 years– so don’t worry about them being alive. These have been factored into the price. My photographic skills(or lack of) do not do them justice. I am a former auctioneer and experienced art& antique packer. I have not listed on ebay for a couple of years as I have been rather busy. The lounge chaise sofa opens up to a sleeper sofa. The back, seat rail and claw feet are made of ¼ sawn oak. The backrest has a fan style spindle splat with beautiful applied moldings. The red, cream and green upholstery is original to the piece and in unbelievably great condition for its age. We ... morehave had a professional reupholster the seat and parts of the backrest in matching red velour. There is a fabric pull handle that tucks between the seat and back and the seat folds out. There are hinges under the pattered upholstery on the seat rail and black iron legs that fold down on the backside of the seat. When open, there are 2-wire“headrests” that fold out to hold pillows. The box springs measure 65 ½ inches long and 44 ½ inches wide. This does not come with a mattress. I do not know the exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. This genuine Country French bed has been adapted to fit a standard modern queen size mattress as shown with steel rails. The original satiny finish is very well preserved on this beautiful antique furniture from France. Newly waxed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster and patina. Original carved oak side rails are included. If used, they would require a custom mattress.
