They are in the form of a vase holding a bunch of roses with a key hole in the centre. There are two mounting holes at the top and bottom and they are about 5ins in height by 1inch wide. A magnet sticks only to the 2 pressed metal rosettes, which I include two pictures of them side by side. The rosettes have a 2" diameter and the escutcheons are 1 3/4" tall x 1 1/4" wide. 10 cast brass Antique ornate victorian escutcheons,key hole covers door hardware
This is a beautiful set of 10 matching antique cast brass escutcheons. They were probably originally used on interior doors. Each is 7/8" wide and 1- 7/8" tall. The keyhole is 11/16" long and a little more than 5/16" across. The slot portion of the hole will accept a key that is 1/8" wide. The clear finish on these is chipped and worn. On one. It is nearly gone. There is some discoloration from oxidation. The photos were taken in natural light, so the escutcheons look a little washed out. They have a brighter brass tone, but they still look old and a little weathered. They are very nice. If you have any questions. Please ask.

These were purchased from an estate where most everything was from Keeler Brass Company from at least the 1960's however I am not sure if these are Keeler hardware. Lot of Antique Door Parts Skeleton Key Hole Covers Escutcheons Hardware 1862 64!
Here is a treasure trove of essential and unique pieces of antique skeleton door hardware-often overlooked but important. two matte black metal knobs(good shape) with one spare metal knob. one brass fcomponant/ faced mortise lock in working order. Two iron hinges(not matching) the black one is in great shape and very ornate the other is damaged and is mostly for parts. 3-4 mortise lock strike plates- not often thought of when installing an antique door/hardware- they are nice to have and not easy to come by. 2 mortise latch/strike catches-again. Not often thought of- these are for the external type"box" skeleton type locks these are both cast iron-one is ornate the other with old paint. Two spring loaded. Floor or top door iron bolt locks- one is complete with chain(no catch though- most you'll find just use a hole in the floor ... moreor door jam with a strike plate) The other is a very cool footed lock with a button release(I don't think this one was used with a catch- just a hole in the floor or jam) anyway it's foot operated-this one does have a faint hairline fracture but it remains fully intact and functional. 4 skeleton key hole covers/ escutcheons 2 matching brass 1 very old brass and 1 ornate cast iron. These are very handy when working with old doors. There are also 3 knob stem hole centering pieces/mounts-priceless for the door reclaimer. Now. One of these may be my favorite piece of antique hardware I have ever had- as it's patent dates are spanning the Civil War"July 15, 1862" And"June 21. 1864" It's cast iron and unassuming but just to see those dates is cool.to me at least. Up for auction are these 9 brand new cast brass key hole covers and escutcheons. I will describe as best I can. The two on the top row in the photograph match. Heavy. They have foil labels on the back which read“Made in India” They measure about 2 ¼ inches across by about 1 inch high(highest point) The cover on the left in the 2 nd row has a foil label on the back which reads“Made in Taiwan” R.O.C. Heavy. It measures about 2 inches across by about 1 1/8 inches high. The cover on the right on this row was removed from a sealed package for visibility. It is from the Anglo-American Brass Co. See a photo with the packaging. It measures about 2 inches across by about 1 ¼ inches high. The bottom row of 5 cast escutcheons measure from the smallest(about ¾ inch high by 3/8 th inch across) to the largest(about 15/16 th inch high by ... more½ inch across) Five escutcheons = four different sizes. Vintage Art Deco Aluminum Escutcheons Key Hole Door Knob Cover Back Plate Lot
A lot of 14 vintage aluminum escutcheons. They each measure approximately 8-3/8" long x 1-1/2" wide. In good-vintage condition with imperfections due to age and wear: oxidation and fading-the heaviest of the oxidized pieces are shown in picture#6.
