Aesthetic Era Burgess & Co Flint China Master Chamber Pot In The Rugby Pattern
I fell in love with this when I first saw it and I am delighted to offer this to the market. This is a master chamber pot. These were used by maids to remove the water that was used in wash bowls in the days before plumbing was accessible to most people. The base of this is marked with the Burgess Co brown logo and has Flint and Rugby as well as the symbol. This pot is from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The pot is made from"flint China" which was a grade of ware between porcelain and white granite. The pot has a stunning botanical bouquet splayed across the main body on each side. The colors on the flowers remain vibrant against the muted grey tones stems. There are matching flowers on the lid as well. The outer edge of the pot has a pie crust edge that has a thin gold band painted on it. There are handles on the sides ... morethat have gold accents and the cover has gold around the outer edge and on the handle. The pot stands approximately 8.75" high to the pie crust edge. With the top on it is approximately 11.25" high. There is a fine crazing/cracking to the glaze on this. There are two small cracks at the top of the pot but they look like they are more in the glaze ass opposed to the sides of the pot being cracked. I will be happy to email additional pictures if requested. There is also a reddish brown mark on one side that can be seen in the photos. It also appears that there is some age related discoloration at the base. It is hard to see it unless you hold it a certain way in the light. There are losses to the gold trim and there are a few areas where there are losses/scratches to the botanical motifs as well. There is wear to the bottom edge of this that is appropriate for age and use. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown. Welcome to my auction! You are viewing a wonderful antique 1887 chamber pot. This is one of 2 items in the set that I have. I have listed the smaller lidded matching pot in another listing so please take a look at that listing too! This is marked Ridgways Chester Stioke on Trent and is in the Aesthetic Brown Transferware pattern. The pot is in excellent condition with no cracks. Chips or crazing. The paint is still in excellent condition, shows the normal gentle loss of some of the gilt trim. The pot has a nice soft textured ribbed pattern under the glaze. The lid is actually inverted and sits nicely in the rim. The interior is fine and just needs to wiped out. there is a manufacturer bubble on the floor. Antique Brown Transferware Elysium Chamber Pot Aesthetic Movement Birds Flowers
You are bidding on an antique brown transferware chamber pot with the lid. It's from the Aesthetic Movement& has lovely scenes with birds& flowers. It's heavy& measures 10" wide to the end of the handle& about 7" high to the top of the handle on the lid. The bottom is stamped ELYSIUM. Which I beleive is the design, but I'm not sure. There are no other markings giving the manufacturer, etc. There's some slight crazing on the inside of the bowl& a line about 2" long near the handle on the outside that looks like a long line of crazing. It doesn't go all the way through& you can't feel any crack. It's smooth& may just be a flaw in the glaze. It's not very noticeable. There are no cracks or chips in the bowl. The lid has 3 chips along the edge. They're each about 1/2" ... morelong. The 1 is on the top& 2 are along the bottom of the edge. The top doesn't seem to have any crazing or cracks. Antique Large Brown Aesthetic Transfer Ware Slop Jar/ Chamber Pot, Wash Bowl
This is a large heavy 2 piece set. I could not identify the brown transfer ware pattern but it features birds(blue jays) and flowers. Although unmarked the bowl has the impressed numbers 29- 285 and the pot has the impressed numbers 385- 17(I think) Both pieces are in excellent condition with some light crazing. There are no chips or cracks but a few spots that look like glaze pops. I've pictured one) The bowl measures approx. 14.5" across by 5" tall and the pot measures approx. 12.5" across the handles and approx. 11.5 tall. Up for your consideration is this 1850- 1899 English Aesthetic Movement 8 1/4' inch x 9 1/2" wide red transfer ware Chamber/ Slop Pot. It Depicts Oriental lanterns hanging on tree branches with flowers. The lid is a drop in style and fits right in the pot top. It is a great decorative piece and can also be used has a planter or utensil holder or what ever your need be. Condition: Used There is some very light crazing and a chip under the top rim. Antique 1800s Old Hall Brown Aesthetic Transferware Mother Hubbard Chamber Pot
Beautiful transferware piece that was taken very good care of- this piece is truly unique. I haven't seen anything like it. The transfers are amazing with scenes of a girl blowing bubbles. Butterflies, and flowers. The handle's details are lovely. The plates are usually the only thing to survive from this collection. Made in the 1800s, it has one small hairline crack about three inches long as shown in the photo and a couple of other smaller cracks. They are so tiny that I don't think it even came out in the photo. It does not affect the integrity of the piece and is still sturdy. It hasn't been reglued as it's not necessary to do so. No other issues with this piece. The lid is in perfect condition. The plates usually sell for around $100. Measures 10.5" with the handle x 7" tall with the lid. HERE IS A GREAT CHAMBER POT IN A WONDERFUL AESTHETIC PATTERN FROM THE LATE 1800's. Both the pot and lid are stamped the same: Melbourne. Ra No. 102018, F. Winkle& Co. Stoke-on-Trent, England. Melbourne must be the design. Which is just wonderful. There are flowers and birds and great patterns all in a brown transfer ware. The pot itself is in great condition with no chips or cracks. The lid's handle is missing a piece. Please see the pictures. When the lid is on and the broken part of the handle turned to the back, you don't see the large chip, so it is still great for display. Inside the lid there are some hairline cracks, but these are not on the outer side of the lid. This is a wonderful chamber pot in a very desirable Aesthetic Movement pattern. Many chamber pots have long ago lost their lids. So it is wonderful that the ... morelid is still there, even with the chip in the handle. The pot is quite heavy. Unusual Victorian Aesthetic Movement Turner's Art China Painting Chamber Pot
A classic white chamber pot with a dramatic paint job. The back stamp contains the date"1890. which is consistent with the style of the piece. In nice shape, with no serious chipping or cracking and only a little roughness on the interior lip of the lid and some minor gold loss commensurate with age and gentle, reasonable use. The pot itself is just over 5" high and 8 3/4" across, with the handle protruding about 1 5/8" to the side. The lid is about 9" across and the piece stands 7 1/4" in total height(to the top of the handle) Thank you!
