This is a very large jar. It is missing the lid. It was once a chamber pot/slop jar. This jar can be used as a large planter. A vase or simply to display. At Trenton, and in 1883 the name was changed to the Union Pottery Co. The products were cream-colored and white granite wares. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! Ya gotta love antique ironstone- and this beauty comes with its hard to find lid. Too! What I have is a white ironstone chamber pot- marked on the bottom with the double lion crest, Royal Patent Ironstone, and Tomkinson Bro& Co. this English piece will accent your collection or decoration beautifully. The base of the ... morepot measures 10 3/8" wide handle to end, 8 7/8" diameter at the top, and stands 5 3/4" tall. With the lid on, it measures 8" tall to the top of the handle. The pot is in excellent structrual condition, with some minor damage from wear and age(and I'm afraid to say.use! There's a very thin and hard to see hairline crack that runs from the top down 3 1/2" You can see it from the inside too- although only 2" of it on the inside. I'm showing you the outside view in photo 9, and the inside view in photo 18. The pot shows crazing all over, and some darkening due to the crazing toward the bottom of the pot, and some light carmel colored spots on the side, but no other issues, chips or cracks on the body. Turn it over, and you can see a couple of teenie nicks on the very rim of the bottom where it sits on the table/floor- so it has to be upside down to see and they may be original- see photos 19-23. If you look at photos 12-15, you will see that the underside of the lid has two very small shallow chips(photo 13 has a third that is more of a small scrape) One is on the inside rim, it's 1/8" and it's the largest. It has an interior rim diameter of approximately 6 3/4" ion size. The entire lid diameter is approximately 9" in size. The finial has a wonderful shape to it. A very nice piece if needed. Gorgeous. Feminine, beautifully embossed, this antique chamber pot is perfect. Exquisite lines throughout the entire piece. From the delicately fancy cover to the matching lid and bowl handles to the beautiful embossing. This one had to belong in a very fine old home, indeed. No Chips or cracks. And only minimal crazing around bottom of the bowl. No discoloration anywhere. There are three potter's firing marks on the inside of the bowl. Mark on bottom of bowl is FRANCE. No maker's name. This auction is for a Lovely Antique White Ironstone Chamber Pot and Lid made by Johnson Brothers of England. It is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age, which dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. There are no chips or cracks or stains or crazing or repairs in the bowl or the lid. The glaze is clear and white is white. There is a very minor grayish/silver"scuff" or lines in the top of the lid(last photo) It doesn't detract from the overall appeal of this Great Find. I am not certain of the pattern but the lid has a neatly scalloped edge. The piece measures 7 1/2 inches tall. With the lid, and 10 1/2 inches wide, including the handle. It has the Johnson Bros. Antique white chamber pot made in the late 1800's Very nice condition for its age! Bowl measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 5 1/4 inches tall Handle extends out another 2 inches and is approx. 4 inches tall Marked ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA with the stamp of the lion. Crown and unicorn, with CHARLES MEAKIN ENGLAND under it. This printed mark was used on the earliest pottery made at the Burslem Works location. From 1870 to 1882. There are a few expected minor anomalies inherent with hand-made pottery. The inside is quite clean. Close inspection reveals very minor scratches on the bottom from use over 130 years ago. The glazing on the exterior is very nice There are no chips on the top edge. As shown in the photos. There is a very small crack at the top right side of the handle that appears to have been glued, possibly prior to glazing. This ... moreis not very obvious to the eye when on display, and in my opinion it is a minor visual issue. I have tried to be as complete as possible in my description. But I'm not an antique expert and have assessed this chamber pot based on the research I have done. Please look carefully at the photos. As they are part of the description. This"potty from the past" is in great condition. With crazing, but no cracks. A couple small chips as shown on the bottom front edge, but do not detract its beauty. There is no lid with this but would look great with flowers. It is white ironstone with a lacy design. A graceful handle with no chips or cracks adds to the beauty. The little felt pads on the bottom, shown in the photos, keep it from scratching the hardwood floor. They can be easily removed. It doesn't look like it was ever used. Presented for your consideration this antique white ironstone chamber pot with lid. It has a simple ornate design on the top and side handles and a simple panel motif around the outside. It was made in England by Alfred Meakin as part of the Royal Ironstone Pottery line. It measures 7-1/4" tall including the lid and 10-1/2" across including the handle. It is 9-1/2" in diameter, not including the handle. It is in excellent antique condition, no cracks, chips or repairs. I did find a few yellowish spots on the bottom of the outside, see close up last photo. Your pot will be shipped either USPS or UPS Ground, whichever you choose. This is a beautiful antique white ironstone piece. It is quite decorative. And would complement a variety of decorating styles and color schemes used as a planter or however you choose. Black back stamp says GOODWIN'S IRON STONE CHINA 1844 with a shield, banner, and two winged creatures(dragons perhaps) This mark was used by Goodwin Pottery Co. of East Liverpool, Ohio, between 1893 and 1906. Approximate measurements of the chamber pot are 5 1/2 inches tall x 8 3/4 inches wide, not including the handle. This is a heavy piece. It has no chips or cracks. There is wear in the glaze(most noticeable on the rim) And tiny discolored spots. Crazing is visible on the underside. On the inside there are scratches in the glaze, mostly visible on the bottom. I am offering for auction this very nice white and blue transferware Chamber pot and pitcher. They are in good vintage condition. The pot and the pitcher have few flaws. A couple of small dark spots inside. There is no printed or incised makers marks. Most likely the pieces are American or English in origin. The lid has crazing and chips and stains from use.
