Made in England in the early 20th century(circa 1900) It is a small auxiliary article designed to hide and use a porcelain chamber pot, a delicate hand-decorated piece. The piece of furniture is made of beautiful solid mahogany wood and has survived to our days in striking condition, having been fully restored so it can boast the wood’s nice dark reddish color just like when it was originally manufactured. The set is original and very decorative, making up a highly attractive item. The wooden container is rectangular and compact. There rests the chamber pot. Protected by another hinged top with a circular hole in the center. The porcelain piece is lovely, with a smooth white surface decorated with yellow and blue hand-painted flowers. This decoration is quite delicate and reveals the hand of a skilful artist. The chamber pot bears a stamp at its base. This original piece of furniture and the fine porcelain pot that comes with it show off the style typical of English furniture from the early 1900s. This is a listing for an Alfred Meakin Royal Ironstone chamber pot with its lid. It dates from 1881-97. Based on the pottery mark. The handle of the lid is a flower and leaf design. This design repeats on the handle of the pot. The pot and its lid are in excellent condition with just a few issues. There is a crack starting at the top part of the handle where it attaches to the pot. There is a spot on the handle of the lid where the glaze is missing. I believe it chipped off likely because of an air bubble underneath it. There is one small glaze pit on the rim of the lid. The outside of the pot has a small amount of scuffing. The interior has some minor scratching and wear to the glaze on the bottom of the pot. Please study the pictures for details. This is a listing for an Enoch Wedgwood& Co. Royalstone ironstone chamber pot with its lid. It dates from 1860-90. Based on the pottery mark. Enoch was the cousin of Josiah Wedgwood. The pot and its lid are in very good condition for their age. The lid has had three chip repairs at its rim, and one of the repairs has a crack leading from it(about 1/2" to the inner rim of the lid on its underside, and about 1 1/4" un the lid on the outside) The base is free of chips and cracks. It has some minor scratching and is in remarkable shape. There is a slight amount of scuffing on the exterior of the pot. The inside is supreme for the age and the lid is fine too. AUTHENTIC CHAMBER POT JH WEATHERBY & SONS ENGLAND CIRCA 1900 w/o LID
The J.H. Weatherby& Sons(Ltd) A family-run company was founded in Tunstall in 1891 and moved to Hanley the following year. Named'Falcon Pottery' it was the base for their manufacturing and trading of earthenware, and was one of a number of similar potteries in Stoke on-Trent. It first made domestic ware such as printed toilet sets. Trinket sets, vases, teapots, tableware and tableware fancies, jugs, fern pots and lidded chamber pots. Soon after World War I, Weatherby began to supply advertising ware to hotels and caterers and later to hospitals and institutions. In the 1920s and 1930s it experimented with modernist matt glazes and introduced Art Deco-style vases, tableware and fancies. The manufacturer's"DURABILITY" mark on the bottom tells us this particular chamber pot was made after 1892 in Hanley. England. This ... morestamp was used from 1892-1924, but the introduction of indoor toilets gradually replaced chamber pots. There is a hairline crack from the rim about half way down into the vessel. This crack hasn't expanded. And as long as the buyer doesn't plan on using it for its original intended purpose, this shouldn't be a problem. The inside bottom is pitted and the glazing shows its true age. It really is remarkable that items as fragile as this have survived more than 100 years. This pot has no lid. But chamber pot lids seem to be a collectible, and currently there are many available on ebay that might fit this pot. I've taken photos of the handle to show that is has not been repaired or replaced. I displayed this for several years in a guest room that was also decorated in turn of the century Victorian. Guests and friends were intrigued. As few among us can say they have actually seen an authentic chamber pot.

It could have been used as a chamber pot purpose, cooking or even just to hold water. It is enormous, the largest of its kind I have ever seen. It also comes with the rare lid! It is approx. 12 in tall by 13 in wide with the handles. It is marked with a stamp and Semi Vitreous on the bottom. But I cannot make out the maker. It is in fair to good condition. Wedgwood & Co Royal Stone Chamber Pot and Lid Ironstone -A
I retired in mid-2009 with the objective of clearing my house of excess in short order. A goal at which I have failed miserably. I am trying to get back on board. I have finally convinced family and friends to stop bringing stuff for me to sell as I have enough already! If you buy this 136 year old chamber pot no one will ever be able to clain you don't have a pot to p* in. Enoch Wedgwood was a distant cousin of Josiah Wedgwood. He founded his pottery in 1860 and it continued into the 20th century intil being absorbed into the Wedgwood Group. The pot stands 8-1/2" with lid and is about 10-1/2" long. The bowl is 8-1/2" One small inderglaze chip on the foot of the pot. A scratch on the lid and crazing to the glaze. The Wedgwood& Co. Royal Stone China stamp is on the bottom as is a British registry mark for 1877. Inside ... moreand out you can see 3 equidistant stilt marks from when the glaze was applied. Rare F. Winkle Red Transferware Slop Bucket Offered here is an amazing. Large 2 piece waste or slop bucket in an all over transferware pattern in red, produced by F. Winkle& Co. in Stoke, England. These were produced between 1890 and 1920. F. Winkle Co. ran Colonial Pottery and produced transferware. This bucket has the original splash bowl that sits on top. The bucket was used for dumping and transport of chamber pots and wash basins. The splash bowl was inverted to keep the waste water from spilling out as it was carried. The center pour hole allowed one to empty the wash basin without also tossing the soap as it was dumped. These are quite rare and to find one like this in such beautiful condition is a true find. MUST SEE Art Nouveau Deco Wilkinson Staffordshire Waste Bowl Chamber Pot POPPIES Pre Cliff click picture to enlarge Description c. 1900-1925 Wilkinson Royal Staffordshire waste bowl or chamber pot with stylized poppies. Marked as shown in photos on base with the Wilkinson crown mark used post 1896 and before the switch to the the Clarice Cliff marks in the late 1920s. The design outline is transfer and then they are beautifully hand painted. Measures about 8 3/4" across the top plus the handles and about 5 1/8" tall. CONDITION: Antique item. Many small tiny paint/enamel losses along the red rim. A few marks on handle. See photos below. There was a gradually transition at Wilkinson from the more traditional Victorian motifs of the late 1900s to the bold Art Deco designs of Clarice Cliff of the 1930s. It is interesting to note that ... moreClarice Cliff came to Wilkinson in 1916 when she was only 17 years old. Her interesting drawings brought her to the attention of the owner of Wilkinson and he let her experiment on some old stock blanks. By 1927. She was off studying in London and Paris. She then returned to Wilkinson and by 1929, her designs went into full production and the Wilkinson marks were changed to include her name. Some of her designs, like Firs, are known for their'stylized glimpses of the natural world' These poppies, with their deco style stems, are likely a precursor of the designs to come. It is marked Stonechina. J.W. Pankhurst, Hanley, England. It is about 9 inch wide(not counting the handle part) and about 8 inches high with the lid on. The lid doesn't rest 100% in the opening. I'm not an expert so I don't know if this was intentional at the time or if the top is from another chamber pot. It does seem top match in style and trim really well so chances are the lid does go with the pot. I don't see any chips or scratches. I could find no damge. See image for manufactures marks. Approx. 8.75" diameter and 11" to the handle and 5.25" high. Age is somewhere between 1874 to 1896. Brownhills. Between Longport& Tunstall. Brownhills: The packhorse lanes through Brownhills: One of the main pack-horse roads, which left Hanley by Woodisun(Marsh Street) Brook Street(off Marsh Street North) connected with the lane from Newcastle and wound through Cobridge and the lower end of Hot Lane, Burslem, where it branched; one route going approximately via the present Nile Street, Burslem, and the other, a narrow lane behind, and to the west of what is now Waterloo Road, but which was then a portion of the adjacent fields. Passing Cross Hill and in front of the church yard, it ran by Bournes Bank, a steep incline, to Swan Square. From here the road probably traversed ... morethe slope by way of St. John's Square, or through the Market Square, on to Hill Top. From thence it went down the narrow steep passage of the Back Sytch, past the Sytch Water Mill on the Brownhills Hall estate and past the hall, where it would join the road from Newcastle and Longport, into Tunstall and the north. From Burslem, the Mother Town of the Potteries, an important pack-horse road ran from the Market Square, as already mentioned, via Pack-Horse Lane, winding by St. Paul's Church, Dalehall, via Trubshaw Cross, fording the stream at Longbridge(Longport) by the present road past a group of houses called Longbridge Hayes. From thence it went round the Bradwell side of what is now Longport Station and up the hill, now traversed by the road(made about 1875) and so on to Wolstanton and Newcastle. The item does not come up often on eBay so I would assume that this is kind of rare. The jumbo cup is in excellent condition; i.e. No chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. The cup measures 3" high and about 6" diameter at the cup's opening(rim-to-rim) The piece is marked"CHARLOTTE" ALFRED MEAKIN STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND PERMANENT COLOURS at the bottom of the cup. Also. The word"ENGLAND" is incised into the porcelain. Well. That was my original listing as shown above. Replacements Ltd and another eBay vendor has this listed as a JUMBO CUP. If this was a regular cup, the rim should be straight up and not flared out as shown in the pictures below. It does kind of make sense. As a child's chamber pot. I would assume that this piece would date back to the Victorian times(1837- 1901) However, the fact that the back stamp says PERMANENT COLOURS- I found out would date this piece to the 1970's. So, the big question is are people really using chamber pots for children in the 1970's. Well. I am no ALFRED MEAKIN expert- just giving you what I have researched so far. Antique Child's Chamber Pot, Alfred Meakin, Charlotte Pattern
This child's chamber pot measures approximately 6" across the top and 3 1/2" high. On the bottom. It says, Charlotte, Alfred Meakin, Staffordshire, England, Permanent Colours" and there is the word"England" impressed. I think that this piece is about 100 years old. Very collectible. Given its age. The condition is near mint. I could not find any chips, but there is a line about 1/2" inside the pot that looks like a flaw in the finish, or maybe crazing in that spot. Vintage white enamel ware chamber pot w/lid. This unique pot has white ribbed sides with red rim. Red highlights on the handle attachments and a solid red lid(very unusual) with original metal and wood handle. The pot measures 8" high and 9.5" wide. Enamel is in good condition with minor rust spots and chips as expected with an antique pot. The lid has a couple minor small chips(see photos) but is in very good condition. The underside is in good condition with minor wear as expected. No dents or bruises on the pot. It really is a gem. A great piece at a great price- check my feedback- 100% satisfaction. Up for bid is our last one from our salesman sample collection of chamber pots. This is quite small at 2.25" diameter and 1.75" high. With a base of 1.25" This is another whimsical example of salesmanship providing detailed use for their line of wares. The contents are original to the piece and do not come out. One small glaze pop on the bottom rim which is seen in one photo. The pop is not seen when pot is standing. No chips cracks or hairlines. Taylor Smith& Taylor Chamber Pot Weighs 4 lbs. ALONE. Before packaging Diameter 8 3/4" With handle. Widest measurement from handle edge to rim is 11" 5 3/4" in height Bottom is stamped with makers mark in green. A griffin standing on 3 interlocking rings, with T S T in each ring. Underneath is printed"MADE IN U.S.A. 59" ~ I BELIEVE it is a 59, it is a little faded, maybe a 69? Overall this is in GREAT shape! There is a good amount of crackling in the glaze. Nothing serious. UNDERNEATH the handle, is a small crack within the porcelain, shown in pictures. Some discoloration inside There appears to be a very faded design on both sides ~ I really can't tell! It appears to be a bird on a leaf. Antique English Brown Transferware Field Flowers BWM & CO Chamber Pot
This is a very nice antique English Ceramic Chamber Pot"Field-Flowers" by the"B.W.M. Co" Brown-Westhead& Moore. Co. This pot is in very good condition with one very tiny flaw under the curved handle it has a little minute gap that occurred during the firing. This pot has a gorgeous brown transfer ware pattern of flowers. Wheat and ferns. It has the original makers mark on the bottom including a raised makers mark also. There are no chips and no glazing. A few very fine marks in the inside bowl. Chamber Pot measures: 8.25” diameter and is 4.75” tall. The handle is in very good condition also.
