Vintage Chamber Pot Enamel on Steel White w/ Red Trim and Lid Black Wood Handle
Vintage porcelain enamel on steel chamber pot. The base has gently curving sides in white with a line of red trim around the top rim. It's large enough and sturdy enough to sit on(of course) The lid fits well and is solid fire engine red. There is a wire handle on the base that has a rotating. Black wooden handle. It stands about 9 1/2" tall, is 10" wide and weighs just under 3 pounds. It came from an estate sale and it's not marked for manufacturer or age. It's clean and in good condition. There are two chips in the enamel on the bottom edge, four small rust spots inside and a few light marks from age.

It's a beauty.if such things can be called beautiful. It was certainly necessary and practical in its day. A nice piece of nostalgia, that makes you glad to live in modern times! Unsure of maker. This diaper pail or chamber pot is white with red trim. Its wooden handle is still bright! It has a few chips in the enamel- 2 on the outside of the lid. And two on the inside. There are several along the underside of the rim, or did the porcelain just adhere poorly? Two more chips on the exterior bottom. This was sitting in a furnace room for decades& it was covered with soot! It didn't wash out with bleach or trisodium phosphate, so it's got a dingy gray cast to it. Authentic vintage chamber pot from the 1940's or before with the lid and wooden handle on wire bale. Measures 9" tall x 9.75" in diameter across top. Pot has some spots were the enamel is worn off and the metal is rusty. This pot is as clean as hot water. Detergent and bleach can make it. Great for display or as a flower pot. Vntg Enamelware Chamber "Potty"—White w/Red Rim+Bakelite? Handle+Lid+OrigLabel
Use this as a decorator piece in your modern bathroom! Before indoor bathrooms were popular. These chamber pots were used in every bedroom/household. People used these pots so that they wouldn't have to make a trip out to the outhouse in the cold, dark night. In the morning these full pots were carried out and dumped in the outhouse. Judging by the size. This one was probably used by youngsters between the ages of 5–12. This one is unique because it has a lid and the original manufacturer's label on the side. It reads. Columbian, Serving the Home Since 1871; Porcelain Enameled Steel; Made in U.S.A. by Columbian, Terre Haute, Indiana; General Steel Wares Limited; GSN logo) Exclusive Canadian Distributors. The pot has a red rim and the lid has a black rim but they fit perfectly together. The handle is a slightly rusted metal with a ... moregray Bakelite( grasping handle. I don't think plastic, as we know it today, was widely used during this time period but I understand that Bakelite was used, however, I can't guarantee this. There is also a ripped price tag on the side of the pot which I cannot read. SIZES: Pot only—7 1/2" tall x 9 3/4" diameter top. Total height with handle straight up is 13" Lid—10 1/8" diameter x 2" height CONDITION: There are several dents. Chips and scratches on the lid and pot. There are also several rust spots on the pot which someone tried to cover with a clear varnish or acrylic to stop the erosion, I suppose. The repair work is difficult to see in the photos. Vintage Enamelware Chamber Pot Red and White Child's Excellent Condition NO RUST
This is an antique smaller Enamelware Chamber Pot that measures 7 1/2" across and about 3 1/2" high. It is white with a bright red rim and was for a child. It is in excellent condition. There is a white scratch on the red painted handle which may have been done in the painting process. I'm not even sure it is a scratch. See picture please) The inside is immaculate with only one tiny black dot as shown. Outside is also in excellent condition with 2 or 3 black spots under rim. No rust seen anywhere. From my mother-in-law's estate and probably never used as you can see. Please ask any questions. Federal Porcelain Enamelware Chamber Pot with Lid White with Red Trim and Handle
This is an antique Porcelain Enamelware Chamber Pot by Federal of the United States of America. It has the original lid and has the classic color scheme of white with red trim. The wire bail is in excellent condition and the wooden red handle is very nice too. I would say that it should hold up to about 1-1/2 gallons. It stands approximately 8 inches in height to the rim and is 9-3/4 inches in diameter at the lid rim. There are some chips in the porcelain enamelware finish. That lend to it's country vintage charm.
