Antique Staffordshire blue & white transfer ware octagonal chamber pot 1840-1860
This chamberpot is"cold white" and blue. With no markings except a small impressed"O" on the bottom. It is 9 inches wide. Not including the handle, and 6 inches tall. It's quite heavy. The transfer ware pictures are the same on both sides; and there's a chip under the lip of one side(1.75" x a little more than one half inch) As shown in the photo, and a very tiny chip at the top of the handle. The pot was used to hold plants. So the inside is somewhat dirt stained, but I imagine bleach would fix it. The pot was evaluated by a professional. Who wrote the following: This is an old English chamber pot made in Staffordshire. Possibly by a company named Ashworth that was taken over by another one called Masons Iron stone China. Antique Large Brown Aesthetic Transfer Ware Slop Jar/ Chamber Pot, Wash Bowl
This is a large heavy 2 piece set. I could not identify the brown transfer ware pattern but it features birds(blue jays) and flowers. Although unmarked the bowl has the impressed numbers 29- 285 and the pot has the impressed numbers 385- 17(I think) Both pieces are in excellent condition with some light crazing. There are no chips or cracks but a few spots that look like glaze pops. I've pictured one) The bowl measures approx. 14.5" across by 5" tall and the pot measures approx. 12.5" across the handles and approx. 11.5 tall. English Pink/Red Transfer Ware Ironstone Chamber Pot, C 1800's
Beautiful vintage red/pink transfer ware. Ironstone, chamber pot in very good condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. There is one small pit on the bottom inside of the pot. This is truly an amazing piece, in incredible condition, given it's age. There is a stamp that says"England" on the bottom of the pot, but no additional marks. There is the transfer pattern of pink/red flowers all over the pot and lid, including an unusual overrun on the lip into the inside of the bowl. see pictures) In addition to the pattern of flowers, the piece has a pattern set into the ironstone itself. Estimating age from the mid to late 1800's this piece would be a welcome addition to any collection. Lid is 10" in diameter. And overlaps the bowl. The height of the pot with the lid is approx. 6 1/2 inches, the width including the unusually ... moreshaped handle is 12" We pack in peanuts and bubble to ensure safe travels to new homes. For auction is a SHENANGO CHINA CO. brown transfer ware chamber pot. It has a serpentine shape on the sides and is 6" deep and 8 1/2" across. On the bottom is the SHENANGO CHINA CO. logo which reads. SHENANGO CHINA CO. NEW CASTLE PA. and the head of an Indian in the center of these words. It is in very good used condition. No cracks, only a little crazing in the bottom.
