Very nice chamber pot made iin 1906 by John Maddox& Sons Staffordshire Potteries England A chamber pot is a bowl-shaped container with a handle. And often a lid, kept in the bedroom under a bed or in the cabinet of a nightstand and generally used as a toilet at night. My great grandmother made us use these when i was a very young child in her southern antebellum home. I found this one at an estate and am weeding out some of my collection. Chamber Pot marked"DEVON. Durablity, J.H.W. Sons, Hanley England" The Pink Floral Chamber Pot Bowl/Cup shows design on both sides and on handle. It has a couple of spots where glaze didn't cover(inside) and a spot on the bottom where the glaze bubble might have burst and created a small chip on base edge. Please look at the pictures for better view. This item holds 12 cups of liquid. I do not know the age of the piece. This ceramic pot weighs nearly 3 pounds and measures 8 1/2" across(not including handle) and stands 5" tall. Beautiful item for decoration or collector. Please ask questions prior to bidding. AUTHENTIC CHAMBER POT JH WEATHERBY & SONS ENGLAND CIRCA 1900 w/o LID
The J.H. Weatherby& Sons(Ltd) A family-run company was founded in Tunstall in 1891 and moved to Hanley the following year. Named'Falcon Pottery' it was the base for their manufacturing and trading of earthenware, and was one of a number of similar potteries in Stoke on-Trent. It first made domestic ware such as printed toilet sets. Trinket sets, vases, teapots, tableware and tableware fancies, jugs, fern pots and lidded chamber pots. Soon after World War I, Weatherby began to supply advertising ware to hotels and caterers and later to hospitals and institutions. In the 1920s and 1930s it experimented with modernist matt glazes and introduced Art Deco-style vases, tableware and fancies. The manufacturer's"DURABILITY" mark on the bottom tells us this particular chamber pot was made after 1892 in Hanley. England. This ... morestamp was used from 1892-1924, but the introduction of indoor toilets gradually replaced chamber pots. There is a hairline crack from the rim about half way down into the vessel. This crack hasn't expanded. And as long as the buyer doesn't plan on using it for its original intended purpose, this shouldn't be a problem. The inside bottom is pitted and the glazing shows its true age. It really is remarkable that items as fragile as this have survived more than 100 years. This pot has no lid. But chamber pot lids seem to be a collectible, and currently there are many available on ebay that might fit this pot. I've taken photos of the handle to show that is has not been repaired or replaced. I displayed this for several years in a guest room that was also decorated in turn of the century Victorian. Guests and friends were intrigued. As few among us can say they have actually seen an authentic chamber pot.

Antique Late 1800 Floral Design Chamber Pot-Signed John Maddock&Sons England
Antique late 1800 handpainted porcelain Chamber Pot. Trade mark Royal semi porcelain John Haddock&Sons England. Being white in color with floral clusters of pink roses with gold leaves and branches and misted with gold dust. The handle have raised ribbed texture going up and being shaped for a hand to carry. Size measuring 5 1/2" high with a diameter of 8" This pot has no chips.Cracks,repairs or crazing. The inside bottom does have several flea bites. There is also some gold paint loss on the handle. Otherwise this piece is in very good condition! Just a wonderful piece to add to any collection!

aAt a recent Estate Sale I picked up this very old Chamber pot. The Chamber Pot was made by John Maddock& Sons from England. The bottom is marked and the marking indicate that this Chamber pot was made sometime around 1906. This is a Royal Semi Porcelain Chamber pot. The Chamber Pot measures 6" tall without lid and 8" tall with lid attached. The pot is 8 1/2" in diameter. The pot is creamy white with decorative handle. The lid also has a decorative handle. The chamber pot is in excellent condition considering it is over 1 100 years old, there is a small chip on the lid, please see my pictures.

This is a beautiful Vintage Porcelain Chamber Pot with lid. Stamped on bottom John Maddock& Sons. England, Royal Vitreous. Has raised pattern of swirls and flowers, also a hand painted yellow and green floral design. There is a chip on the inside rim of the lid, see picture#7. Overall in very good vintage condition. It has a raised wheat? design around the edging and handle(very nice) It is marked on the bottom(pictured) Measures approx. 8 inches across the opening and approx. 4 5/8 inches in height. Antique Chamber Pot from 1893 by George Jones & Sons England
This is a chamber pot that dates from 1893. The mark on the bottom says"Crescent 1st Quality& Sons England" There is also a hand painted number: 21836' This chamber pot can be described as having pink roses on an off white background with cobalt blue and gold trim. There is crazing. But no chips. There is a hairline crack on the inside lip of the pot that measure approximately 1.5 inches, but the crack does not go through to the outside of the pot. I have documented this in the photographs above. The pot measures 8 3/4 inches in diameter at the top. It stands 5 1/2 inches in height and is approximately 10 inches in width. It weighs 2 pounds 1.8 ounces.

For your consideration today is a wonderful blue and white ironstone porcelain chamber pot with lid. This chamber pot was produced by the John Maddock& Sons Potteries. Staffordshire England. It is true vintage and in excellent condition overall with no chips or cracks- there is fine crazing all over but the shiny glaze on the pot and lid is still very nice. This chamber pot retains its original lid. The lid and single pot handle are enhanced by a leaf and vine motif molded into the ironstone porcelain. The blue bands on the lid and pot are surrounded by a fine line of goldtone highlights. This pot is approx 8 inches tall at the top of the lid knob. Diameter of the pot is approx 8 inches, 10 inches across at the single handle. Amazing! Seems to be quite rare. I can't find another one lny this maker in this pattern listed anywhere. The bowl is 9" x 5" Surprisingly free of crazing. Chips or cracks on the outside. I looked to my best ability and didn't find any flaws other than a few minor scuffs on the outside. Some minor wear to the decorative trim in the rim. There is some crazing to the bottom of the inside. Please examine all photos.
