P& Co Ltd. E-mail to a porcelain specialist in the U.K. advised that the“Semi Porcelain” mark on these dates them from 1906 to c1915. The Pitcher. Bowl and bottom of soap dish have the stamp with the horses. The Chamber Pots do not have the stamp. But both have the same small squiggle mark(also shown in a photos) The Bowl also has what looks to be an"8" The Soap Dish bottom and inside of the lid have what appear to be a similar markings. But both different(what looks to be a“31” on inside of lid, and“D” on bottom of soap dish. Unsure. But these seem like potters marks? All can be seen in pictures. Although little of it was made in the city! Its potting tradition is less well known, but in the early 18th century it was second only to London in its production of decorative ware. Production of delftware began at Brislington around 1652. The first pottery in the city started in 1683. At Temple Backs. In the early 18th century production spread to Limekiln Lane and Redcliff Back, and there were also a number of smaller potteries. Millions of pieces of delftware were made in Bristol- production on an industrial scale. Some of the best Bristol pieces are landscapes and those with the bianco-sopra-bianco border. By 1777 only Temple Backs remained, as delftware was made obsolete by the more durable Staffordshire creamware. Temple Backs changed to creamware production and later became known as Pountneys. Here is the pitcher and wash basin bowl of a beautiful chamber pot set made by Imperial Pottery of Joplin. Missouri. This is blue and white with a beautiful flower design all over and gold trim. The pitcher measures 10-1/4" tall by 8-1/2" in the center. The opening is 4" in diameter and handle to spout is 9-1/2" and the base is 5" The wash basin bowl is heavy and measures 15-1/4" in diameter by 4" deep. These pieces are in mint condition with no wear or tear and no chips or cracks. It is marked on the bottom in a fish design Imperial Pottery Handcrafted Joplin Missouri and then in gold Wht'82. Antique W& C. P. Co. Opaque China Pitcher& Bowl, with matching Chamberpot& lid. This set is in very good condition. It has a green lily of the valley pattern, and sponged on gold trim. This piece was handed down through my family, but I do not know its exact age. The chips that are present are unnoticeable as you look at the set. The chamberpot lid has 3 chips on the underside of the lid. The chamberpot has one chip under the lip. And also one chip on the"foot" Please take note of pictures 5-7 for these blemishes. The Pitcher and Bowl have no chips. But the glaze is crackled as often is the case with old china. Bowl is 16 inches in diameter. Pitcher is 11 inches high. The pitcher is 10 7/8" tall and about 10 1/2" at it's widest point(includes the handle) There are three birds on the bowl. 2 inside and 1 outside. There are two birds on the pitcher. Antique Pitcher, Bowl and Chamber Pot by John Maddock & Sons
Offering this gorgeous old Royal Vitreous pitcher. Bowl and covered chamber pot by John Maddock& Sons. Based on the mark, it was made between 1880 and 1896 in England. The pieces are in excellent condition. The gold gild shows minor wear on the rim of the 11" tall pitcher. At its widest part, the pitcher circumference is 27" The bowl at its widest is 16" wide. The handle on the lid of the chamber pot has been reattached- so near perfect it is hard to tell. Color is slightly of-white with green ferns and the pitcher handle has spattered gold gild, as does the rim of the bowl and lid of the pot. Gild on the pot handle has worn off. Very nice older wash stand with dark rich colored wood. Pitcher. Bowl and chamber pots are marked England 1890 IRONSTONE. They have a cobalt blue color. The pitcher and bowl are in good condition with no crazing or chips. The chamber pot has a handle that has been cracked and glued and a small chip on the outside. But not many sets have a chamber pot! The stand has little wear with a small crack on the area of the towel rack. Stand will be shipped by itself and dismantled. For its age it is a very nice set. BOWL HAS A CRACK IN IT CAN BE REPAIRED THEN I HAVE TWO OTHER PIECES THAT GO TO THIS DRESSER SET ONE LOOKS TO BE A MUG, MAY BE A SHAVING MUG THE OTHER PIECE HAS A CHIP MAY BE A SOAP BOWL THEY ARE ALL MARKED ON BOTTOM JOHN MADDOCK AND SONS FROM ENGLAND. FROM 1800-1894. FOR THE MOST PART THEY ARE NICE SOME HAVE CRAZING ON THEM IN SPOTS MOSTLY ON BOTTOM BUT OVERALL I THINK GOOD CONDITION IT IS OVER 200 YEAR OLD ANTIQUE CAN DISPLAY WELL READ BELOW YOU WILL LOVE MY SHIPPING POLICY. Large water pitcher has minor hairline in spout and inside toward the bottom spider. Water basin has hairline on rim and minor discoloration and spider to basin, not seen when pitcher sits in bowl. Crackling on most pieces due to age otherwise in good condition. All other pieces in very good condition. Antique wash basin pitcher and bowl set is in good condition. No cracks, or chips, but there is some scuff wear. The large bowl has fine overall crazing and under the base there is a stress line that does not go thru, see photo's for detail. The pitcher handle shows some wear, see photo's for detail.
