8 3/4" wide without handle 10" wide with handle and 5" tall. Has a pretty decorative handle. Very nice chamber pot made iin 1906 by John Maddox& Sons Staffordshire Potteries England A chamber pot is a bowl-shaped container with a handle. And often a lid, kept in the bedroom under a bed or in the cabinet of a nightstand and generally used as a toilet at night. My great grandmother made us use these when i was a very young child in her southern antebellum home. I found this one at an estate and am weeding out some of my collection. Description: Gorgeous Complete Antique Victorian Era Chamber Pitcher& Wash Bowl Set by John Maddock& Sons. Made in England. This wonderful set features a large wash bowl, pitcher, chamber pot, toothbrush holder, 2pc towel holder and 4pc soap dish. Set is original to the period and feature a lovely pink rose motif with black accents on a white ground. This elegant set is sure to offer an authentic period look to any bedroom. It is truly remarkable to find such a great old set complete in such nice condition. Please see my other auctions for more fine antique porcelain and collectibles! Date: Circa mid to late 1800s. Backstamps/Marks/Signatures: Each piece has brown"John Maddock& Sons Royal Vitreous England" backstamp on the bottoms. See photos. Size: Wash bowl is 16" diameter x 5" high. Pitcher is 11" high ... morex 10 inches wide. Chamber pot is 11" wide including handle x 9" diameter x 5 1/2" high, toothbrush holder is 5 1/2" high x 4" wide, towel holder is 9" diameter x 3" high, soap dish is 3 1/4" high including lid x 6" diameter. Condition: Condition varies slightly between piece but overall very good vintage condition. There is some crazing particularly on the towel holder and soap dish pieces with the holes and chamber pot. Towel holder also has a bit of discoloration. Toothbrush holder has a chip on the rim. Pitcher is in excellent shape. Free of any chips or cracks, just a bit of wear to the gold painted rim. Wash bowl has some wear to the gilded edge as well and some crazing as well. Chamber pot has a repair on the rim, about an inch x 3/4" triangular shaped piece that has bee repairs back in. Some areas of discoloration as well inside and some scuffing on the bottom. Some general signs of light wear from age, use and storage and some scuffing on the bottom rims. Antique Pitcher, Bowl and Chamber Pot by John Maddock & Sons
Offering this gorgeous old Royal Vitreous pitcher. Bowl and covered chamber pot by John Maddock& Sons. Based on the mark, it was made between 1880 and 1896 in England. The pieces are in excellent condition. The gold gild shows minor wear on the rim of the 11" tall pitcher. At its widest part, the pitcher circumference is 27" The bowl at its widest is 16" wide. The handle on the lid of the chamber pot has been reattached- so near perfect it is hard to tell. Color is slightly of-white with green ferns and the pitcher handle has spattered gold gild, as does the rim of the bowl and lid of the pot. Gild on the pot handle has worn off. Antique late 1800 handpainted porcelain Chamber Pot. Trade mark Royal semi porcelain John Haddock&Sons England. Being white in color with floral clusters of pink roses with gold leaves and branches and misted with gold dust. The handle have raised ribbed texture going up and being shaped for a hand to carry. Size measuring 5 1/2" high with a diameter of 8" This pot has no chips.Cracks,repairs or crazing. The inside bottom does have several flea bites. There is also some gold paint loss on the handle. Otherwise this piece is in very good condition! Just a wonderful piece to add to any collection!

Offered from a North Carolina Estate is a 1896-1906(dated by the back stamp) John Maddock and Sons LTD 6 piece exquisite chamber set. It is the one of the most beautiful I have seen and is one of 2 sets acquired from a NC estate. The house was original and this set was used before the house had indoor plumbing. John Maddock china and pottery is highly collectable and well known for quality. Beauty and functionality. The company was founded in ~1830 in Stafford Shire County, England. His pieces are easily dated because the backstamp changed over time and changes are well documented. It was 1896 when he added“LTD” to the backstamp and this was not changed until 1906; easily dating this set. Elegant chamber sets such as this would have been used in each bedroom. This 6 piece set is in very excellent condition for well over 100 years old. It ... moreis comprised of a large pitcher, washbowl/basin, soap dish, brush or straight razor holder and cup. It is a stunning set and would have graced any room. In the typical elegance of the period the handles are curved and still retain much of the original gold embellishment. There are no chips, but this set has been used as evidenced by the bottoms of the pieces that show wear. It is a example of the era with a white background, gold filigree, with purple violets(yellow center) sprinkled across each piece. Please look at the photos carefully and if you wish more or others, I'm happy to provide them. The pieces are truly beautiful. It is a must have! This will have to be a one way trip due to the rare nature of finding a complete set for grooming with no nicks, dings or chips. There are no stains except for some soap discoloration on the bottom of the ribbed dish very slight in nature.
