Royal Ironstone China Alfred Meakin Ltd Chamber Pot W/Lid-England-Late 1800's
These chamber pots are very collectible and rare. Especially with the lid. This one also has a crocheted lid cover. There is a chip on the lid(mostly on the underside) and a few small cracks on the lid. The pot has no chips, cracks, damage, or repairs. The pot is 5" high and with lid approx 7 1/2" high. The bowl part is approx 8 5/8" across and from the handle across is approx 11" I really like this piece but we will be moving in 3 years and we are downsizing. This is a very heavy piece.

This is a wonderful antique chamber pot in great condition. It is white with blue pin-stripping and the lid has a decorative handle with embossed design. The bowl and lid are in great condition for an antique piece with no chips. There is some minor scratches and wear but they do not detract for the value of the pot. This is a listing for an Alfred Meakin Royal Ironstone chamber pot with its lid. It dates from 1881-97. Based on the pottery mark. The handle of the lid is a flower and leaf design. This design repeats on the handle of the pot. The pot and its lid are in excellent condition with just a few issues. There is a crack starting at the top part of the handle where it attaches to the pot. There is a spot on the handle of the lid where the glaze is missing. I believe it chipped off likely because of an air bubble underneath it. There is one small glaze pit on the rim of the lid. The outside of the pot has a small amount of scuffing. The interior has some minor scratching and wear to the glaze on the bottom of the pot. Please study the pictures for details. I NEVER use the chamber pots for food service! But they are great to hold small potted plants and for other purposes. Some of them are just so beautiful! White Ironstone Kansas Shape Chamber Pot with Lid - J&G Meakin - 1800's
Offered is a beautiful White Ironstone Chamber Pot with lid in the Kansas Shape. This shape features vertical convex ribs with embossed large leaves around the handle and on the lid. As well as a large nut finial. This piece was produced by J&G Meakin in Hanley, England circa the mid to late 1800's, and retains their impressed mark indicating J&G Meakin- Pearlware. This Chamber Pot is is in very nice overall condition. The base is excellent with no chips or cracks. And only some light age coloring on the interior. The lid has a chip on the outer rim and a flake on the underside rim, as well as some light crazing. It belonged to my Great Grandfather's Family. Chamber Pot. It is a fluer design. Measurements are with cover. 8" tall and 12" across cover to handle, this is est. Beautiful. I have just had it displayed in our home, a beautiful piece to add to any antique vintage decor collection. It has the casting marks inside. The 3 dots inside the pot, and the natural casting marks on the ourside. Wonderful detail on the pot and cover. There is no crazing. Cracks or missing pieces that I can see. There is a flaw on the bottom that I have photographed. This was done in the casting. This is in very good condition with general wear for the age of the set. Which would ... moreinclude scuffs. Antique white chamber pot made in the late 1800's Very nice condition for its age! Bowl measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and 5 1/4 inches tall Handle extends out another 2 inches and is approx. 4 inches tall Marked ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA with the stamp of the lion. Crown and unicorn, with CHARLES MEAKIN ENGLAND under it. This printed mark was used on the earliest pottery made at the Burslem Works location. From 1870 to 1882. There are a few expected minor anomalies inherent with hand-made pottery. The inside is quite clean. Close inspection reveals very minor scratches on the bottom from use over 130 years ago. The glazing on the exterior is very nice There are no chips on the top edge. As shown in the photos. There is a very small crack at the top right side of the handle that appears to have been glued, possibly prior to glazing. This ... moreis not very obvious to the eye when on display, and in my opinion it is a minor visual issue. I have tried to be as complete as possible in my description. But I'm not an antique expert and have assessed this chamber pot based on the research I have done. Please look carefully at the photos. As they are part of the description. Antique Victorian Alfred Meakin England Royal Ironstone China Chamber Pot
This very nice Victorian chamber pot is an English classic as it was part of every home in England during the Victorian period and until modern sewage systems introduced the flush toiled around 1900. This pot may also have been brought to the US during this same period and used as well. It is made from Ironstone with a fine high gloss finish and has a beautiful transparency to it(pictured#1. 2, 4) The under glaze is white and the over glaze is very thick making it transparent looking. It has some vertical lines around it giving it style and a broad serif handle(pictured# 3) It has a raised, curled rim around the top as these pots were used to catch poddie and were usually kept in a wooden commode uncovered. Covered commodes were often much more ornate and sometimes painted with colored glazes and floral patterns these were kept outside of ... morea commode most often in the bedroom near wash stands. Today commodes like this one are used for floor ornaments. Bed/bathroom décor, indoor& outdoor planters or just for fun. It measures 5 1/4" tall X 8 1/2" in diameter around the top and 4" deep. It was made in England by Alfred Meakin as part of the Royal Ironstone Pottery line. It measures 7-1/4" tall including the lid and 10-1/2" across including the handle. It is 9-1/2" in diameter, not including the handle. It is in excellent antique condition, no cracks, chips or repairs. Royal Ironstone China Chamber Pot from Alfred Meakin antique English utility ware in very nice condition Welcome to Simpler Times Antiques! Here for you today we're pleased to offer this antique English ironstone china chamber pot from the kilns of Alfred Meakin of Hanley. England. Our pot is white in color with no applied decoration. It stands some 5" tall at its rim and measures about 9" in overall diameter not including its generously sized ear shaped handle. This piece surfaced at a recent estate auction where the auctioneer jokingly called it"your next favorite ice cream bowl" being embarrassed to name it for what it is. Your humble eBay seller simply could not resist. The pot has Meakin's Royal Ironstone ... moreChina lion and unicorn mark on its bottom dating it as having probably been made between about 1897 and 1914. It likely was once one piece of a complete chamber set that would have included washbowl with matching pitcher. Hot water jug, and possibly a toothbrush holder. The pot also would have had a lid originally, but alas, that has been lost to the ages. We have looked this item over carefully and found it to be in good antique and used condition. It's damage free having no chips. Cracks, or repairs. We found no crazing of glaze. You will note that the interior surface suffers some stain, discoloration, and residue that's probably commensurate with age and typical use. There are a few scratches and scuffs of the glaze on the exterior surface where the pot has been banged about a bit, but none that would be considered objectionable or offensive. The glaze is well applied, but does exhibit a few of the typical pops and inclusions common to such pottery as this. Taken altogether it's a good looking piece of antique ironstone utility ware that shows well. It has great potential as a planter or simply as a decorative accessory in the right room. Antique 19th c. English Alfred Meakin Ironstone Chamber Pot with Lid Superb antique Alfred Meakin England Royal Ironstone China white ironstone chamber pot with lid. Circa 1898. Marked at base. Beautiful design with floral and twig motif. In fantastic condition. Beautiful piece! Dimensions: Pot with lid measures 7-1/4" high by 9-1/2" diameter. Height to pot rim is 5" Pot is 9" diameter at the top. Lid diameter is 9-1/2" 11-1/2" across the pot at the handle. Condition: In excellent overall condition with very light wear from age and use.
