Up for auction from the estate of a New York designer is an antique Minton chamber pot with a pink border a gold leaf rim and gold flower design. This charming piece was imported by Davis Collamore& Co. of New York. It measures 5 inches high and 9 1/4 inches in diameter. And is in good vintage condition. The handle is perfectly intact. Here is the pitcher and wash basin bowl of a beautiful chamber pot set made by Imperial Pottery of Joplin. Missouri. This is blue and white with a beautiful flower design all over and gold trim. The pitcher measures 10-1/4" tall by 8-1/2" in the center. The opening is 4" in diameter and handle to spout is 9-1/2" and the base is 5" The wash basin bowl is heavy and measures 15-1/4" in diameter by 4" deep. MUST SEE Art Nouveau Deco Wilkinson Staffordshire Waste Bowl Chamber Pot POPPIES Pre Cliff click picture to enlarge Description c. 1900-1925 Wilkinson Royal Staffordshire waste bowl or chamber pot with stylized poppies. Marked as shown in photos on base with the Wilkinson crown mark used post 1896 and before the switch to the the Clarice Cliff marks in the late 1920s. The design outline is transfer and then they are beautifully hand painted. Measures about 8 3/4" across the top plus the handles and about 5 1/8" tall. CONDITION: Antique item. Many small tiny paint/enamel losses along the red rim. A few marks on handle. See photos below. There was a gradually transition at Wilkinson from the more traditional Victorian motifs of the late 1900s to the bold Art Deco designs of Clarice Cliff of the 1930s. It is interesting to note that ... moreClarice Cliff came to Wilkinson in 1916 when she was only 17 years old. Her interesting drawings brought her to the attention of the owner of Wilkinson and he let her experiment on some old stock blanks. By 1927. She was off studying in London and Paris. She then returned to Wilkinson and by 1929, her designs went into full production and the Wilkinson marks were changed to include her name. Some of her designs, like Firs, are known for their'stylized glimpses of the natural world' These poppies, with their deco style stems, are likely a precursor of the designs to come. This piece was handed down through my family, but I do not know its exact age. The chips that are present are unnoticeable as you look at the set. The chamberpot lid has 3 chips on the underside of the lid. The chamberpot has one chip under the lip. And also one chip on the"foot" Please take note of pictures 5-7 for these blemishes. Offering this gorgeous old Royal Vitreous pitcher. Bowl and covered chamber pot by John Maddock& Sons. Based on the mark, it was made between 1880 and 1896 in England. The pieces are in excellent condition. The gold gild shows minor wear on the rim of the 11" tall pitcher. At its widest part, the pitcher circumference is 27" The bowl at its widest is 16" wide. The handle on the lid of the chamber pot has been reattached- so near perfect it is hard to tell. Color is slightly of-white with green ferns and the pitcher handle has spattered gold gild, as does the rim of the bowl and lid of the pot. Gild on the pot handle has worn off. A chamber pot was a bowl-shaped container with a handle kept in the bedroom under a bed or in the cabinet of a nightstand. Generally used as a urinal at night. In Victorian times, some chamber pots would be built into a cabinet with a closable cover. Most of the chamber pots were made in Britain and France from ironstone or porcelain. This charming white ironstone pot was made in Trent, England by Wood& Sons around 1910. The Royal Arms marking was used during that period of time on their ironstone pieces. In very good shape considering age and use. No chips or cracks. We use these ironstone pots/bowls for display in the center of a table filled with pinecones, or on the counter filled with fresh fruit/veggies. Measures 14 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep. Very nice older wash stand with dark rich colored wood. Pitcher. Bowl and chamber pots are marked England 1890 IRONSTONE. They have a cobalt blue color. The pitcher and bowl are in good condition with no crazing or chips. The chamber pot has a handle that has been cracked and glued and a small chip on the outside. But not many sets have a chamber pot! The stand has little wear with a small crack on the area of the towel rack. Stand will be shipped by itself and dismantled. For its age it is a very nice set. Antique Large Brown Aesthetic Transfer Ware Slop Jar/ Chamber Pot, Wash Bowl
This is a large heavy 2 piece set. I could not identify the brown transfer ware pattern but it features birds(blue jays) and flowers. Although unmarked the bowl has the impressed numbers 29- 285 and the pot has the impressed numbers 385- 17(I think) Both pieces are in excellent condition with some light crazing. There are no chips or cracks but a few spots that look like glaze pops. I've pictured one) The bowl measures approx. 14.5" across by 5" tall and the pot measures approx. 12.5" across the handles and approx. 11.5 tall. Very nice- measuring approximately 8& 1/2 inches diameter x 5& 1/8 inches deep. Pink Band with embossed swirls and gold lines. There are a couple chips on the bowl base.
